So just a general FYI. The next MWLL patch is gonna involve a big aerospace update and it's after that I'll launch a MWLL thread. It'll also give me time to learn the game better so I'm not talking out my ass when writing stuff up and allow me to help people out with any tech support, learning the game, etc. things.

I swear to god I would get one-shot in the face by that first Banshee before I even noticed him peeking over the hill. I can't even sneak up behind people without them magically deciding to turn around before I fire a shot or 5 LRM boats I can't even see immediately lighting me up.
Is it timezone? Oceanic servers? Or does the B33f just bamboozle the server with his goofy voice over comms?

If you noticed his in game name was t3hb33f 2, which means hes on an alt account thats probably down in t4/t5.
If he was in T2/1 I would say time of day or he is in T5. But I also noticed that their entire team was rolling onto his team and these were the morons who just sit in the back and play with one hand. Thus all of those easy shots. Plus he times his shots with missile hits making it harder for the enemy pilots to figure out he was there (something I learned while piloting my Locusts).
But yeah for the most part probably time of day. Which is why I usually play early in the day for me since I can play against these sort of people in a LBX10 Urbanmech.

While I haven't seen the series, from what I've read, Fang of the Sun Dougram was just about the grittiest, realest of the real robot shows besides VOTOMS. I'd love to check it out, but it's never gotten an official english release (dub or sub) as far as I know of.

And yes, it's very intense. Careful attention is paid to real tactics and logistics. The animation is a bit dated, but as the show goes on you'll forget all that and really start to feel like you're watching a burgeoning insurgency struggle to survive against a much more advanced and brutal regime.

No joke, I desperately want those two Yamato ones (well, I'd prefer their olive drab Tomahawk/Warhammer, but couldn't find as good a picture showing all the features). But I just can't justify the money for something that's just gonna sit on a shelf. Plus, no Glaug (Marauder), Spartan (Archer), or Monster?
I really like Shimmering Sword's and the MWO art team's take on almost every mech they've done so far. Doesn't mean I can't appreciate more stylized or anthropomorphized stuff.

@Erlkönig Sadly, as far as I know Yamato never did a Spartan, and Wave hasn't yet. The only large Spartan figure I know of is an old 1/72 Bandai one that's very toyetic and cartoonish looking compared to the others.

I don't get that mindset. Grr! Not realistic enough!
Giant robots aren't remotely realistic. No amount of technology is going to get around the practical reasons they're a terrible idea. I can get not being into Super Robots or even stuff like Gundam, but being all "hunched over chicken walkers or GTFO!" makes no sense to me. If you're going to go down that road, at least acknowledge that quads with a turret on top would make a hell of a lot more sense than bipeds.
Edit: I will say that the Timber Wolf and Marauder (both the Glaug and Shimmering Sword's/MWO's version) are my favorite battlemech designs.
+1 for walking chicken tanks. Or walking airplane fuselages, that's good too.
Some of the PGI revamps have warmed me on a few of the humanoid mechs. Hunchback is still an adorable tank, even if its a man.
