I haven't had as much fun watching a show in YEARS as I have watching Riverdale
it has quickly become appointment viewing
and aside from the usual cultural osmosis stuff I have absolutely no knowledge of the Archieverse
Yeah I know nothing about Archie except the main 3-4 characters names and that's about it. I'm still loving this show because it's so trashy, but like it was specifically designed to be as trashy as possible instead of just because it's bad.
Its comic sensibilities kind of remind me of like the first season of Glee.
A crust of spunky sweetness over an otherwise dark sense of humor. Lots of teen drama which like, kinda matter to the people involved, but also has a healthy dose of knowing irony.

If you're not aware, Cole Sprouse is as in Cole & Dylan Sprouse, of Big Daddy and "Suite Life of Zack and Cody" fame.

This must be a generation thing, because I keep seeing/hearing people mention this as if it's a huge deal, but I can't say I've ever even heard of these shows or people until now.

I would love it so much if they go full crazy and it turns out that
the Blossoms and Coopers are linked to some Lovecraftian murder cult.
What if they do a Supernatural crossover, and there's just an episode where Castiel is desperately trying to tell them they're in danger and nobody believes him and then he just vanishes and everyone's like "what was that about?" "shrug emoji"
If they get a second season, they should do an "Afterlife With Archie" Halloween episode. If you didn't know, that's the surprisingly hardcore Archie Walking Dead-esque spinoff series.
