I genuinely have no idea what Okami is. Based on all the pretty screenshots I always assumed it was some sort of rhythm like game. I didn't realise it was a Zelda-like. I might have to give it a shot now!

Star Wars Battlefront Seasons pass is currently free on the PSN store for a limited time (also free for PC and Xbox). So if you have battlefront, might be good to try these expansions before the sequel that will show up in 2 months.
Am I like, overleveled or something? The enemies in this area are still somewhat challenging but I just fought
The One Reborn
and basically just stood next to it hitting it with an axe until it died. I'm 85 right now, I went 30/30/30/30 vit/end/str/sk since I like even numbers. Plan now is to get bloodtinge to 18 so I can use this neat pistol instead of literally the two weapons I started the game with.
Yeah, I was playing Okami HD on the PS3 for Extra life back in May. Now my plan is to play .hack//GU Final Recode for the next handful of 24 hour streams, and play Okami HD on the PS4 when I work through all 4 chapters.
Streaming on the PS3 might just be one of the biggest pains in the ass I've ever had to deal with. I'm happy beyond belief that I don't have to do that shit anymore.
...what? Nothing was leading up to that being the final boss. What the fucking hell is this shit?
E: OH GOD FUCKING DAMMIT IT STARTED ME AT NG+? Fuck you From, you had this shit fixed with Dark Souls 2. Let me move on when I want to.
E2: Sorry.
I mean, of course I'm going to do ng+. It was a great game even if nothing made any damn sense. It's just that I wanted to explore around carefully again and do more chalice dungeons and maybe even pick up Old Hunters and do that. Then I'd go on to NG+. But now I have to do all that stuff on a harder difficulty.

You're a bit overleveled but honestly, that doesn't matter too much on NG.
You may find this surprising, but unless you go heavy into bloodtinge the starting pistol is pretty much all you'll never want (assuming you just use it for parrying). Even though it can be replaced by the Evelyn at 18 bloodtinge scaling wise the hunter pistol will still out-damage it with the same gems until you get about 27-30 bloodtinge.
Didn't they already port Odin's Sphere to ps4? Also, I kind of hope it isn't going to be the normal 60$ for a ps4 game unless it has some for real updates like a new character(s), dungeons, or something.

I still have Odin's Sphere on PS2, probably in shrinkwrap. I really meant to play it after I bought it, but eh.
Also, I called Sony about my broken PS3, and basically my only option with them was to have them send me another PS3 at the cost of $162. Initially I balked, but then I decided I'd rather get a replacement PS3 directly from them instead of one from someone on eBay or whatever. The nice thing is that they don't even want my broken PS3, so I get to keep it. And maybe sell it on eBay for parts or something.
Sad that I'm losing the backwards compatibility, but whatever. We still have two PS2s, including an original model. Also, I backed my Yakuza 2 save up to a flash drive, but I realized that I probably can't get it onto a proper PS2 memory card from there. I assume newer model PS3s don't have the ability to create virtual PS2 memory cards, and I can't trust my PS3 not to lock up within seconds of turning on anymore.
It would be great if they made the PS4 cross-buy with Dragon's Crown Vita.
doubtful, since they gave the vita version away for PS+ some time ago.
Yeah, this one was really odd in regards to Cross Buy, as well. Initially, for purchase, it absolutely was not Cross Buy, but then when it went to PS Plus, they made that version sorta Cross Buy. I think you had to "buy" both versions. My recollection is a bit hazy, because I had purchased the Vita version on sale just prior to it being free, but I believe that is how it went. I'm not sure, but I think it is still not technically Cross Buy between Vita and PS3.
I bought Dragon's Crown on PS3 day-1, and when it was time to go to bed I bought it on Vita so I could keep playing. Loooove that game. I don't care if it's $60, I will buy that shit again! Been jonesing for some DC action, but the PS3 was mothballed loooong ago and the Vita is still packed up somewhere from when I moved.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
I found Second Son to be a lot more fun, personally.
e: I tried to beat the first one multiple times but got bored by the 3rd island. The second one was better, but not by much... Second Son was leagues better than the others.

Yeah, it's hard to go back to Infamous and Infamous 2 after playing Second Son. But definitely try out Infamous First Light, which is the same engine, but focuses on a different character that you meet in Second Son (it's a story prequel).

This is true, and is one thing that I kind of don't like about the game, but Evelyn looks a lot cooler so I'm using it anyway.
Might give this new main hand weapon I was able to buy a try as well. I love the axe but I've been using it the entire game.
Nice, I just started playing Infamous Second Son too (I had the disk in my backlog for a while but getting it on PS+ made it convenient enough to move it to the top of the pile). Really enjoying it, though I see that the criticisms about its length are pretty spot on (though to me nowadays, I see the shorter length as a positive). Just unlocked the second island and am working towards my third set of powers. Delsin is a very likable character when playing the Good side.
Oh, and the Paper Trail ARG/sidequest is still working just fine if you want a little more to do. I'll definitely play First Light after I'm done (also free on PS+ from a while ago).
I thought the first game was just OK (graphics, morality system, and the "twist" were the main negatives for me on the first game). Really liked Infamous 2 and Festival of Blood. Surprised there isn't a Infamous Collection on PS4 for people who missed out on the originals.

Geez, I dunno. Maybe I'm just bad at paying attention.
I had just gone through a weird-ass castle place. I had no idea why I was there or what it was, but that was consistent with most of the rest of the game. Fight my way through a boss that was cool initially but then it lasted 20 more goddamn minutes as I chased him all over the place and just became annoying.
Hmm so that guy was in charge of the nightmare, I guess? His cage thing was bigger than all the others I guess so sure that makes sense. I don't know what this place is still though, or who he was as it relates to the real world. Let's keep going forward.
Up and up more, getting some crazy animal amalgamations like some kinda Frankenstein is going on.
Do You Think It Saw Us? or, That Pig (Has Too Many Eyes): My Bloodborne Diary.
Then hey, it's that lady in the white dress again, whoever she is. Maybe used to live in Cainhurst? All those ghosts seemed to be ghosts of her. I guess she's the mother of whatever this spectral baby is. Well lets go fight the boss since I can't interact with her.
Holy shit that sure is a big wraith thing with six arms and four swords. Who is Mergo, though? Or maybe what? Not sure, though this place was also named after it. ... Huh, the boss is dead I think, but this sure is taking a long time. Woah, THAT message never came up before! Holy shit this 1/3 cord thing has a hell of a lore dump on it. Let's head back to the dream and figure out where to go next.
Ah. It's all on fire. Peachy. Oh this Gherman guy I guess took exception to the actions I've been performing. Well once I kill him I'm sure we'll get a lead on where to go next to fight his boss. I'm not really sure what's up with him since i've only talked to him twice at the beginning of the game and he was never mentioned again but I guess i'll find out after this.
That was tough, but I finally did it. That's a pretty weird thing coming out of the moon, I guess it's another boss fight? Or maybe it takes me to the next nightmare area where I get the next 1/3 of the cord.
Am I like, overleveled or something? The enemies in this area are still somewhat challenging but I just fought

@Aistan the Hunter's Dream being on fire and Gehrman returning were your cues. Chalices don't scale, as someone mentioned, but the DLC can be challenging your first time through if you're on NG+. There are three endings, however, so don't feel like starting over is wholly wasteful. There are plenty of weapons worth trying.
As far as stats, VIT has a softcap of 50, END 40, and the damage stats 50. Damage stats also have an earlier softcap at 25- don't pump something if you're not going to at least hit that first one. So if you wanted to focus on STR an endgame build might look like this: 40/25/50/25/7/8. If you wanted to take that character into the deepest chalices you might end up doing this: 50/25/50/50/7/8.
Ultimately, it sounds like you had fun with the hunt, but ended up a bit confused. I recommend making a new character and trying the DLC too. Read everything you get, and try making different decisions the second time around. Things will start to come together.
But the fire and some guy I talked to twice at the beginning of the game weren't indicative of anything. They were just as random and out of nowhere as every single other event in the game. I don't even know what the hunter's dream is, much less why that change would matter. I very specifically did read everything I got as well, but the lack of boss souls to give context to who any of these people were or what was going on just left it a hopeless muddle.
I'm going to follow a walkthrough for NG+ since pretty much everything I want to do I know i'd just miss or mess up if I didn't.
You might have missed a side area that explained more about the Hunter's Dream. And would help with why you stumbled onto the final boss like that.
Off in a side exit of the Church with all of the incense, you can find the Workshop that the Dream is based on. I believe the door just randomly opens up when you beat a certain boss, you don't need a key. I know I almost walked right past it later. You get another Cord there, so I'm pretty sure you missed it. There's actually 4 pieces, the other two would take a bit more work and are harder to randomly stumble across.
That would have explained more about Gehrman. That place and the fact that it's called the Hunter's Dream and not the Hunters' Dream definitely pointed me towards Gehrman as the final boss. And then you actually saw the true final boss, the creepy moon alien. If you had used all 3 (or more) cords you'd be able to fight it and get the 'true' ending.
Hm I did go to that area and fought through all the stuff but then at some point I reached a door I couldn't open or a dead end. I guess I forgot to go back and check it out. It would have been one of the things on the list had I known the end of the game was coming.
You might have gotten to a spot where you have to do some platforming/falling, Blighttown/Pit/Gutter style, and thought it was a trap or needed an item to get through. I know I stopped there and came back a bit later.
I'd say buy the DLC and start a new character, if you're still interested. You can power through the first few hours, go to the DLC and death-run for all the new weapons. Then play through with a guide to find everything. If you abuse PS+ saves you can get all the other endings on this playthrough, and it's pretty easy to get all the trophies. Especially if you already wanted to do all the Chalice Dungeons.
Yeah I fell down the pit and there was a monster there. Killed it and it took me out into yharnam where there was nothing but some crappy clothes and a shortcut back up.
E: I've looked up what is actually there and yeah I completely missed it. Just saying what my thought process was at the time.
E2: It's almost as bad as Ash Lake being hidden behind two illusionary walls in an alcove you never need to visit in terms of hiding important lore information. The place we are discussing should have been on the main path.
I stumbled into that area, but I also managed to stumble into Ash Lake. Hiding the important story bits is kinda their thing, though.
Usually I clear out an area to the best of my ability, then check the wiki just to make sure I didn't miss anything before moving on. I knew the ending was close when That Area opened up, so then I did definitely check online and ask around here to make sure I got all the endings. I'm still annoyed about missing one in DS3.
