Yeah, no one knows what that thing is yet.

    I mean, my assumption is
Rhalgr. Because duh of course there can be primals of the Twelve.

Also, twelve is an important number for Ivalice stuff oops?

Alternatively, I think there's a chance it is
Shinryu. Or at least Rhalgr interpreted through the form of Shinryu. Because a dragon's eyes are being used to power that mystery primal, and because pitting Omega against Shinryu is some classic Final Fantasy stuff.
Yeah, it would be classic... but does it work lore-wise? Or do you just mean giving Rhalgr an appearance to suggest that fight?
I mean, it could work. One thing we know about primals is their mutability. Their form, powers, temperament, and just about everything else about them is dependent on the person who summons them. The same primal could take many forms depending on the worshippers and the situation. On the one hand, that would suggest that it would be Rhalgr, since the ritual was fueled by despairing revolutionaries who wish for Rhalgr to destroy their foes. On the other hand, the summoning was engineered by Ilberd, who no longer trusted their faith, and expressed that this was his work alone. I think it's possible that the primal that could have been Rhalgr would become something else when summoned in this way, and using Nidhogg's eyes. I think that'd work, lorewise; the god the revolutionaries prayed for, warped into something else entirely, shaped by the Griffin's mad conviction and the shadow of an ancient dragon's anger.

I mean, it could just as easily still be Rhalgr, but there are enough odd circumstances with this particular summoning that I think you could swing Shinryu in the lore.
It's about the only one that really makes since from previous lore in that it'd be Rhalgr.

I'd love for it to be Belias but that would be more for Gigas if they ever are shown to worship or have a beast tribe. Shinryu is more of a traveller in search of Omega so I don't know if you could fit in quite that well, other than Ilbred's use was a hard summon that shinryu couldn't ignore (since we don't have Omega up yet). Since Shinryu likes to flit about the void, I'm hoping something with Dun Scaith or MSQ might draw him in and leave the final summon to Rhalgr. Or they could totally swerve us and just have some unique egomaniac primal show up, like Chaos!
And then it turns out that he whiffed it and summoned Choco/ Mog.

Yeah, Shinryu and Omega are usually a package deal. To be honest, the reason I started thinking Shinryu was because of that 2.55 trailer, that seems to imply that Nero will convince us to activate Omega in order to combat this thing Ilberd has summoned.

Am I correct in assuming that you will probably get enough Lore for all the Pneumite you will need while you are farming light? Or do you need the Pneumite before you start farming the light?

The most effective way to farm light is A1S, which awards no lore. But, it drops Gordian accessories, which can be turned in for about 1100 company seals each (with a guaranteed one every fourth run.) Since you can also buy the items for 60k company seals...

Awesome, that is good to know. Thanks!

Got a good deal on a 60 day timecard that a GAFer was selling.

Once I redeem the code, am I locked for those 60 days immediately? I'm hoping to save it for when I actually have the time to get back into FFXIV and catch up on what I've missed (thinking around May).

It doesn't look like there's an expiration date or anything (he told me it was this card here). I was worried that it might be one of those "new subscribers only" cards, but the Mog Station gave me a confirmation screen to redeem it (which again, I'm saving on), so it appears to work.

Get Anima from 260 to 275

Finish A5 to A12 (normal, don't really care about savage at this point)

Maybe clear EX primals unsynched if people are bored

Do Weeping City and Dumb Scaith.

Earn 10 million more gil for house come Stormblood.

Get CUL and GSM to 60.

...That's about it? I'll have all 260-265 gear by the end of the week, and I might upgrade a couple pieces to 270, just because I have nothing better to do with clan seals.

I hope they remove the coin's weekly restriction. I'm already at 260 + Anima. Pretty happy with my gear. At most, I'm gonna get some MNK gear for my SAM. And a Lore Sword for my DRK if things go south with the Paladin "Revamp".

Eh... starts to get to too many similar icons if they do that. I'm half expecting a flower for SAM (the icon for Swordmaster in Bravely).

Cleared my first EM after a few mostly rather sad attempts, ended up getting a Machinist weapon with these stats:

    Coven Musketoon
    78 physical damage
    Dexterity +202
    Vitality +214
    Accuracy +66
    Critical Hit Rate +58
    Skill Speed +142

The stats look... not great, but hey it's 280 so lol nothing matters.

Meanwhile, my Machinist is at 30 :bzz:

Don't Samurai share gear with Dragoons instead of Monks? I mean I guess the jewelry would probably be the same for all three, but I thought I had heard that Samurai and Dragoon share gear.

    Curious....

It appears that the 14 day free trial is no longer 14 days as all mention of the time limit has been removed.
    ie: Unlimited duration free trial?

The doubled Scripture cap is going to be needed for me to hit my gearing goals, which is to construct a BiS set for every job, where said BiS set is either full i270 Alexandian/Shire with a tailored Relic weapon (which there will be 4 jobs that have this distinction) or with the Alexandian weapon (except DRKs as their Alexandian sucks so i270 Shire it is)

NIN and DRG are the two melee that do not share sets

    Tanks (Fending)
    MNK/SAM (Striking)
    NIN (Scouting)
    DRG (Maiming)
    Caster (Casting)
    Ranged (Aiming)
    Healers (Healing)

are the gear distinctions as we know it moving forward.

    For accessories, it's more condensed:
Fending (Vit - PLD, WAR, DRK)
Slaying (Str - MNK, DRG, SAM)
Aiming (Dex - NIN, BRD, MCH)
Casting (Int - BLM, SMN, RDM)
Healing (Mnd - WHM, SCH, AST)
Which is kind of necessary as currently, Creator 1 Savage/A9s has a whopping 25 items on its loot table. Every other floor has 14 except Creator 4/A12s which has 20 due to the weapons

Pretty lame lead in to Stormblood compared to the one for Heavensward.

Very much felt like just another story patch.

When using the handy dandy FFXIV toolkit, whats stats do WARs need the min value of? Parry? Skill Speed? I don't think there are any caps for Crit and Det since it seems I should stack those as much as I can...

Mainly asking since they added another set of 270 accessories, so I don't know which 270 item to equip.

519 SkS for 2.43s GCDs so you can hit 9 GCD Berserks. You may need more depending on latency/how comfortable you are in being able to execute those 9 GCDs reliably but you should aim to minimise the amount of skill speed not because of TP issues, but because you're actually tied to a larger 60s window (Infuriate) so skill speed only makes a difference if it can push more GCDs over that 60s interval and in a manner that doesn't end up generating wasted stacks that you'll just Infuriate over.

Parry should be as close to +0 as possible.
Yes, this does mean that when you are i260+ you can use a Strength based ring instead of that parry ring since realistically, you have enough HP to do any content with i250 gear.

Crit can be stacked as high as possible, as can Det
