Back to the Future also filmed for like a month with a completely different Marty McFly, didn't it?
Eric Stoltz.
"A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."
"Readers who prefer tension and romance, Maledictions: The Offering, delivers... As serious YA fiction, I’ll give it five stars out of five. As a novel? Four and a half." - Liz Ellor My new novel: Maledictions: The Offering. Now in Paperback!

There is a cracked article about time where studio intervention saved a movie. I cant find it but that has to mean there were at least five time in history that studio execs made the right call
5. Back to the Future - Doc had a pet chimp buddy, and the studio came up with the DeLorean
4. Good Will Hunting - originally just a generic spy thriller and Malick was brought in to fix the end
3. Easy Rider - Hopper's edit was between 3 and 5 hours
2. American History X - very little Edward Norton
1. Alien - writers thought having robots/androids was a terrible idea, also wanted to call the film Starbeast
Wait
Good Will Hunting was originally about spies, you say
Yeah. Will was recruited by CIA suits in the original pitch due to his math skills and it became a thriller.
alright I no longer have a hard time believing that ben affleck actually contributed anything to this script

WHAT?
They kind of riff on it near the end when Will is listing off possibilities for his future with Sean.
This is maybe the funniest thing I've heard in a while
Seeing this completely unexpected scene on the movie's opening night in a basically empty movie theater with only me and 3 of my friends absolutely dying laughing is still, by far, the single greatest moment I've had in a movie theater.

Given how The Wolverine went, I figured they'd screw it up somehow
That's a lot of reviews for something that's still two weeks out. I mean, yeah, they usually don't embargo reviews until release day unless it's so bad they don't want anyone to read about it, but this is either all the reviewers being so excited that they get themselves to the early screenings at a higher than usual rate, or the studio making a lot more early screenings available for reviewers.

Fox seems to have tons and tons of faith in Logan. They seem to think they've got something significant on their hands if they're prescreening it so early.
Actually, judging from plugging "Logan review" into Youtube and seeing a huge batch of reviews all dated "6 hours ago", I guess that's exactly when the review embargo lifted.
it would be interesting, but I don't know if that's in favreau's wheelhouse
Between Zathura, Elf, Iron Man and The Jungle Book, I think he's got it.

Cut You Up With a Linoleum Knife is my second favorite Mastodon song.
so jean-luc godard's very first attempt at narrative film just hit youtube.
this is a huge deal to me, considering how gay i am for the french new wave, and godard in general.
It's a 9 minute short and definitely is one of the seeds that led to breathless
"Never distributed, Une Femme Coquette has had less than half a dozen public screenings since the 1960s; we were able to track down the only known 16mm print to a national film archive in Europe, where it was being stored unlisted for a private owner, to be loaned out only with the personal permission of Jean-Luc Godard himself. This makes it the holy grail of the game-changing New Wave era—a film so rare that it has often been listed as lost by biographies and film history books. And it might as well have been. No other surviving narrative film by a major, big-name director has been as difficult to see—until now."

Road House and American Ninja are both playing on cable right now. I also have this week's episode of Riverdale on the dvr that I was planning to watch.

French New Wave cinema must involve a lot more murder than I previously thought
