my first dating anxiety- before i even dated- was after reading atlas shrugged. in this valley you have (accepting the premise as i did, anyway) good and impressive people. everyone there is remarkable. so how do you decide which moistens your genitals? in a room of people who are kind and passionate and stable and attractive and all that, what does

There are lots of great, lovable people, and more importantly most of us probably go through our lives without meeting the person who is a thunderbolt of passion for us, or without the capacity to experience that, so we don't know what we're missing anyway
While some people can absolutely induce crazy amounts of passion, I suspect it's less specific than we think, but also, the social conception of love is basically a lie and most of what we idolize is actually harmful to believe and science has been done on it, so.
Maybe that doesn't help much! But I think it's less "we don't know what we're missing" for most people and more "what we actually think is ideal is an absurd impossibility."

The ideas surrounding relationships and love that are propped up in lots of western media, including elevation of chance, downplay of relationships as work, assumption that the right person is going to fit into life seamlessly and it's gonna be perfect and if there are problems you're incompatible, that love lasts forever*, that conflict is a sign of either incompatibility or abnormality, etc, are all actively harmful and people who subscribe to those beliefs tend to have worse relationships with lower commitment.

The one thing about stat distributions in Blades is that it seems like it's probably best to have at least one dot under insight, resolve, and prowess, so that you are never forced to roll 0 dice to resist harm or to Vice.
On the other hand, possibly rolling 0 dice to go vicing is useful, because then you don't end up as likely to get super high and talk about shit you didn't really mean to

Brown people, black people, and LGBT people don't have the luxury of just waiting this presidency out. We're being negatively impacted right now and it's been a month and a half.

now to send it to my supervisors and see what they think of this mess
hopefully they're reasonably positive and I can keep cleaning this up for submission to the journal
I milled a lot of my cards. It's beta anyway so at some point they'll do a reset. The free to play stuff seems kinda slow, not as many options for earning stuff as Hearthstone, but at least you make progress from winning rounds and not matches.
