All those services announcements about the bad taste of the games did the opposite of what it should have.
The very first thing I did when I got home was lick the game cart. I just HAD to know.
It wasn't nearly as bad as it was made out to be. Not pleasant, but I've had meds that had a worse coating.
So you know what you have to do? Start the next trend via rumor.
Did you know the zelda cart is cool to the touch unless you place it directly on the tip of your....... left pinky.
Has anyone applied the screen protector already? Any comments about the touch controls with it on? The screen feels a bit odd without one, i was thinking of going downstairs and grabbing one before i really start playing.
So my Switch from Bestbuy Canada is arriving this morning. My neon joycon set already arrived from Amazon and yet my Zelda Special Edition has not shipped (from Amazon). Of course that was the only one I paid for faster shipping on...It's estimating a Tuesday delivery right now. I know Amazon.ca does weekend deliveries in my city so I'm really hoping that magically changes to arriving tomorrow in the next few hours.
I feel my quest to see if my wireless issue is affecting more people will be tough at first. Most everything on any sort of forum right now is people talking about if they did or did not get their unit. Which is understandable, of course.
Okay probably a dumb question, but I will be able to buy Zelda digitally today, right?
I realize I'm one of the few people actually wanting to do this, but I'm hoping to go digital-only as much as possible this go around. Just want to make sure I don't need to start searching it out in brick and mortar stores...

Just turned up at work and I quickly unboxed and played 15min of Zelda.
Grinned from ear to ear with that feeling of being ten years old again and unwrapping that one toy (you know the one) that you just had to have but didnt know if you were actually going to get it but there it is! Only these days I've got to fit playing it around work, planning a wedding and moving house...unless I build a pillow fort and hide in it all weekend!
Heh it hurts way way too much to play through. I don't know, maybe this is just the inevitable carpal tunnel setting in. Yikes.
Just weird that the 3ds would be totally fine because if you put a joy con on top of the 3ds you can barely tell the difference.
it could also be a combination of your arms are further apart than the 3ds and it being slightly heavier. it this with the joycons on the tablet, in the grip, or just holding the joycons on their own?

Sitting about five feet from the switch with it over my right shoulder, I had both joycons lose their connection sporadically last night after updating. I'll test it a bit more when I get home later today.

This is actually an issue with the unit detecting my wireless network. It doesn't even SEE it, but it sees a bunch of nearby ones. Wasn't able to figure out why last night, but I didn't get much time to devote to it.
Can't wait to leave work today - gonna go try to find a Joy Con charging station or grip and then head home. Then I'll spend the afternoon milking the ol' cow if you catch my meaning.

Kinda any configuration. In the tablet or on their own is worse than in the grip, but I can still feel it happening in the grip.
The 30 minutes of shovel knight I played 7 hours ago is still causing pretty significant soreness even though I haven't touched it since.
Doesn't look like I'll be getting one until the next wave, seems to be sold out all over my region. Just as well, I should really be doing actual work anyway.
But man, what a fucking ordeal. I eventually got fed up with waiting for that e-mail and drove to the store. Asked there and they somehow couldn't find my order in the system at all. Thankfully I wrote down my order number so they were able to confirm it, but apparently no Switch was delivered to the store for me - and all the consoles for walk-in customers were already sold out.
Thankfully someone cancelled their pre-order today, so I was able to get literally the last Switch they had.
I generally never leave anything in my car, but I work in a very un-populated area and my car is right outside my office window which is ground floor. I can almost reach the hood from my desk (not really).
So I ordered a travel case and the HORI stand from Amazon 2 weeks ago and 6 weeks ago respectively. Both were listed as "March 3rd release," with no shipment info available. As of today, I still have no shipment info and both product pages have gone from "available March 3rd" to "temporarily out of stock." Which is pretty shitty.
Did anyone else order either of these and actually receive it/get shipping information?

I ordered a hori stand and case from Amazon.ca, neither have shipped yet, both showing March 8-10 arrival estimate.
Did in store pick up on a charging power grip. Now my fingers are crossed while I wait to see if I actually get it. Does anyone know if Gamestop can print Snipperclips codes or will I have to grab an eShop card with my store credit?
So, I love it. I haven't even connected the system to my TV yet and I love it.
If Nintendo just gets their shit together regarding the virtual console and other content offerings, this will be an amazing system.
Zelda has blown me away in less than 30 minutes. So much so that I think I need to stop playing Breath of the Wild and go back to finish Wind Walker HD first since I don't know how I can go back to it after this.
Disgaea 5 is going to be amazing on this. Question for those of you picking up the import. Are you doing that digitally? How would I do that?
Well, I'm pretty damned happy with mine! It was always a worry in the back of my mind that my massive goon hands wouldn't like the Joy-cons but every configuration has been really slick. I settled into using the dpad buttons immediately in the menus without thinking about it, so I think it will do just fine for things like Shovel Knight. Also: I'm weak and bought the archer Link amiibo. First Amiibo pickup ever!

oh geez that sucks. yeah i wouldn't touch it until tomorrow at the earliest, or if you can get your hands on a pro controller. you may also want to look into trying these grips... maybe they'll help with the extra contouring similar to the wii u gamepad?
"Your UPS delivery is delayed due to mechanical issues with aircraft or truck movement. We're adjusting plans to deliver your package as quickly as possible. / Your delivery has been rescheduled for the next business day."
That's a kick in the pants.
If you've got the scratch you could always buy one now and return the other when it gets there, if you can find another that is.
I did just that! <happy panda.gif>
(and to assure people who hate scalpers as much as I do, my extra unit will end up going at cost to a friend who missed preorder windows.)
Card has been charged for my Prime Now order. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get fucked over.
life's a game that you're bound to lose / like using a hammer to pound in screws
fuck up once and you break your thumb / if you're happy at all then you're god damn dumb
that's right we're on a fucked up cruise / God is dead but at least we have booze
bad things happen, no one knows why / the sun burns out and everyone dies
Picked up my Switch at midnight last night, took a bit to get through the Best Buy line but got the thing home and jumped right into Zelda. I've maybe put an hour and a half into the thing since I did need SOME sleep, but I'm still feeling pretty amazed by the whole experience.
Also, Zelda looks pretty damn good. I knew it'd look good, but somehow all the media I've consumed (and I've consumed A LOT) still didn't prepare me.

Sucess!! Best Buy had the Neon Joycon. They didn't have a midnight opening here so that probably helped. Now to go home and patiently wait for UPS.

anyone know if the ps4 version of disgaea 5 had english voice acting? im wondering if the us version on switch will have it.....

With my luck, I'd find one right away but then have to suffer by not being able to play it for the rest of the day.
Yes. It was pretty good.

It was pretty fun, for all of 10 minutes...

Now there is a Switch sitting in my car.
I can see my car from my office window.
The Switch is calling to me.
It wants to be played.
It needs to be unboxed.
...it's going to be a long 8 hours...
you left your switch in a car? Brave man.
aaand that's why I'm not spending real money on it.

Really smooth and easy setup process so far. The Switch is a bit heavier than I expected though.
