The +stat nodes on espers are not really worth spending points on, unless they are either on the way to something you want (killer, ability, etc), or you have gotten all the abilities you want and have some points left over. Your unit only gets 1% of the esper stats. 1% of +30 atk is 0.3 atk. Odin has a lot of great abilities, I'd get the killers, lance, dispel at minimum. Bladeblitz is ok for AOE if he's on a unit that doesn't have any.
1% of the esper's stats are added to the character, so the hex bonus is only going to be one or two. Getting the abilities/materia is exponentially more important.
Regarding money, compared to a monthly subscription, F2P games like this are great. I'm far from rich but I have some disposable income, and I've had a lot of enjoyment over the last few months from this game, so why not show the devs some love? "Likes" only take them so far. I don't have a lot of capability of playing heavy sit-down games, but I can play a little bit of this while my son (2.67 yrs old) is winding down/taking a break from stuff. Then I can put my phone away easily and go back to being a good parent
This game has been a godsend for me because my son is 14 months old and being able to play for like, 5 minutes at a time and still accomplish something meaningful is amazing.
So im a little confused about the espers passive bonus. I just promoted Odin to 2*, but have not put any of his training points into skills yet. I know i probably want to grab undead and dragon killer, but if im trying to max his passive bonus to whatever character i put him on, do i just want to grab all the +ATK hexes? I know the full amount isnt getting added to the character, but im confused about how exactly its determining the passive bonus.

Going after stat nodes is, generally speaking, less effective than going after good skills and you'll probably get most of the stats you want along the way anyway, but either way getting the stat nodes or not getting them is a difference of like... single digits
EDIT: To put it in perspective, level 40 Odin gives +60 Attack. If you grab every Attack node on the grid, he gives +62 Attack.

Did my daily and got another Miyuki. Did my first (of 4 budgeted) 11 pulls. Got 3 Ovelia's, a Soleil, and Orlandu. Holy shit did I get lucky! Also netted another Agrias, Shantoto, Miyuki, Jack, Anzelm, and Seven.

I may have just managed to been Bediled into Queen into a blue-yellow-rainbow reform into Orlandu. Oh happy day.
I can tuck the remaining 35 tickets away for Tidus now.
Decided to blow my load, 2 11 pulls and 17 tickets. Didn't get him(naturally), but I did get a second Gilg and 3 Leons(my firsts), 4th chiz along with some random people I never got before(Luka).
A little disappointed, but Gilg is at least the best "troll" I could have gotten for my team since it improves my chains.
I think the biggest troll on all my rolls is that I only got 2 bonus units, both Ovelia. Gimu wtf.
Two 11s, about a dozen tickets, and the 250 pull and got nothing. Got a few yellows... Rosa, Chiz, Cinque, Refia (again!?!?!), and another Leon. I figured I wouldn't get him but it still makes me sad. I might drop $20 on the game, but that still isn't enough for an 11 pull, which is crazy.
53 tickets and 3 11 pulls, got a few Ovelias, Lawrences and Soleils. Did a get a Rainbow and I was super excited, but it was just Emperor. I hate to feel like I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth, but if I was gonna get a Rainbow that wasn't Orlandu, it could've been a better one than Emperor.
I can do one more 11 pull, but I might grind out the tickets from this event first and try my hand at those. I just really want Orlandu.
6* for Zidane, Garnet, Vivi and Kuja, and new 3* base Black Waltz (5* cap), 4* base Steiner, 5* base Eiko and 5* base Beatrix (6* caps all three.) That's pretty cool
Grabbed the cheap tickets, threw them at the banner. Now have a bunch of bonus units. I'll grab the 5 expensive tickets next, throw them at the banner along with my daily pulls. I don't expect Orlandu but I might as well put in a decent effort to get him.

If I don't pull Orlandu at least I have Agrias, and then eventually when Randi gets enhancements he becomes a godking himself, so there's that. Also Olive, who will be able to wreck faces proper once her TMRs are done.
I did 10 pulls, mostly because I wasn't getting any banner units. No Orlandu, but I got two more Shines, so I am VERY happy about that. And Lawrence and Soleil, so I can max out Olive and not kill myself grinding.

I mean, I'm not planning on quitting, but I'm just a little disappointed. Would've been nice to have that super cool unit that other people could be envious of. Might sound a little silly, but my friend's list is almost all 5*, Noctis, Luneth, Olive, and I've already seen a few Orlandeaus, too. Just wanted to be one of the cool kids, I guess.

I think it has something to do with the guaranteed gold along with the extra pull.
each crystal has a ~70% chance of being blue, a ~29% chance of being gold and a 1% chance of being rainbow but that includes crystal upgrades.
so the additional guaranteed gold gives you a slightly better chance of pulling a rainbow.

All three non rainbow bonus units, my first Hayate, Kefka, Firion and then my second chizuru and fourth Zidane.
Basically an amazing pull. I really like Firion and I can run that double Chiz chain meta now. Need a ribbon and the cowl seems great.
Then I guess four Zidane to make farming that quicker so that's good. Since I have Luneth I only really 'need' two DW.
