Is this pre sequel nonsense? Cause really being made by a third party that is no longer even alive should just be ignored . Fuck I got to finish that game but it’s soooo boring.
Also Athena killed everyone with atlas the secretary/ janitor/ it guy etc. None of them had anything to do with what happened to her. Unless there is some story beat I’m missing.

TPS was mediocre. It didn't have the character or comedy of 2, which was so over the top that it got a bum rap. The actual playable characters were fun as hell though. Claptrap was stupid fun to play.
I really just want melee weapons. And fuck whoever is about to say “But gun game!” because EVERY GAME has at least one character saddled with a melee build, and I want a bit more variety than the same melee attack/special kill/whatever gun model has the highest +melee model forever. It would open a whole new loot venue, with stats for reach, speed, knockback, and so on.
Yeah I mean other than the game forcing Lilith to get locked up by Jack along with the dumb ass Roland death, I can't remember her being bad before that.
The worst she got in BL2 proper was maybe getting addicted some to Eridium (which didn't really go anywhere) and enjoying the attention of a pyro-happy cult of Bandits during a sidequest line a little though she did admit feeling guilty about that. I believe she even went as far as defending Angel to Tiny Tina during the final major BL2 DLC. The issue is TPS' framing device came around and made her out to be a hypocrite on that end by refusing to let go of her own anger at Roland's death. Not helped by the fact that she may be in denial about her small role in shaping Jack into Handsome Jack during the Helios/Elpis crisis.
Eh most of the vault hunters are various shades of chaotic neutrals . Only reason they come off as hero’s is because their is usually something super fucking evil going on.

All of the Vault Hunters are basically 1980s action heroes.
Which I am perfectly fine with.
A Capellan's favorite sheath for any blade is your back.
If it's just Borderlands 2 Lilith and she dies I'm ok with that. I'm mainly worried they'll do things to redeem her character first before offing her.
What do you mean redeem her character?
Pre Sequel made her a pretty hardline terrorist who was killing people that even slightly affiliated with Jack
I mean Athena does the same shit with atlas and no one give her shit . It’s just the revenge rampage trope.
Athena felt bad about killing her sisters at least.
Lillith striaght up kidnaps someone and intends to execute them for something that frankly she caused
Thaaaat's a bit much, I feel. I've played through most of TPS and seen it's ending so if I'm missing something, correct me here:
Lilith's 'not coming out great' moments in the past amount to
1) taunting Jack purposefully as the Eye-cannon self-destructs, compared to Roland showing regret about killing at least Jack's team and any innocent survivors on Helios if not killing Jack himself this way.
2) using her Siren powers to punch the relic into Jack's face, destroying the former but not before the latter got information about the Destroyer from it. Yeah, she should have made sure Jack was killed too but I've heard that her powers only allow her to do so much when she's phasing in and out of dimensions so she gets a slight pass in that respect there.
Yeah, her capturing Athena just to kill her at the end of the story and not even doing it herself is pretty bad. But what she did on Helios and Elpis was not the sole reason Handsome Jack was born.
I really just want melee weapons. I'm absolutely going to be playing as the punch wizard so yeah hopefully melee is more fleshed out.

Maybe it's just because I'm playing Nisha but I'm at a point with TPS where I don't mind the whole space thing as much anymore.
One distinct difference between TPS and BL2 for sure is that in the former they got rid of the problem of instantly eating shit as far as your health goes; there's an actual noticeable drain. Though I'm not at the end game, and I still have that O2 kit that gives health restore on oxygen pickup so maybe I'm not getting the proper experience in that regard.
HOWEVER the bosses in TPS basically insta-gib you compared to BL2 and that shit bothers me a lot.
Personally I would rather they lean in the direction of not caring so much if the player ends up getting a lucky gun drop that leaves them overpowered for a while

I guess with Nisha you would want the O2 kit that gives you a crit boost while you are in the air. It makes up for her not having kill skills active.
Bosses are tough but are you actually upgrading your gear? You told us you weren't even bothering with elemental guns.
EDIT:
Nisha has a hard time as the regen from the right tree only lasts a few seconds. Makes it difficult to solo.
The left tree gives her more survivability but it's more Close Quarters focused.
Middle one sucks, you only get into it for the dual pistol.

I said I never used to bother with elemental guns but my recent time with BL2 taught me I was stupid and wrong. They seem to have nerfed the DoT aspect of elemental weapons in TPS though. Not abandoning them because of that but still, that's a shame.

I think I linked it before but my build idea for Nisha is this. No idea on the exact order I want to do it in but for now I'm diving in hard on the middle tree as I play. Short Fused is actually extremely disappointing. Even at mid-range its damage gain is negligible.

Slowing/freezing was a nice trade-off for DoT, though. I was sad to hear ice wouldn't be coming back.

I played Athena elemental for awhile in the midgame. When you've got an on-level version of that Moxxi Maliwan that shoots lightning or whatever, it's pretty ridiculous.

It's been awhile, but I think I was usually in the 200-300 range when the fighting was heavy with the aforesaid gun. They bleed very fast once you get high, though I found most of the time if you kept in the fray you'd stay in that range and then regardless of the slower tick of the last ones, you'd be dry by the next encounter.

I kinda wanna try a non-Anarchy based Gaige. It's harder to get off the ground power-wise and the disparity in that power with Anarchy is pretty damn obvious. But still, I like how it sounds on paper.
Anarchy was how I first beat the game and it robbed me of really understanding just how hard the game was, and how much I was facerolling all the content.

Yeah I mean other than the game forcing Lilith to get locked up by Jack along with the dumb ass Roland death, I can't remember her being bad before that.
So, fresh set of eyes / perspective here.
In Borderlands 2, Lilith is all, "fight the good fight, Jack is an ass, we need to kill him!" But there's also an echo where she tells Roland about her ability to get her power enhanced by Eridium, and how she melted a dude and it was "awesome." And when you meet her she's needing Eridium boosts during the fight.
Right now in TPS I've started the raid to take back Helios. After I rescued some people, Jack killed them all because he suspected there was a traitor among the group. Lilith didn't say "oh shit, that was fucked up and unnecessary." She said, and I quote, it was the sexiest thing ever.
That line right there put Lilith as a character into perspective.
She's a power hungry murderer, and will take up any cause that the present provides so long as she can continue to murder. She stands for nothing but her own survival and only has regard for others if it serves a purpose (like in part 2, impressing / staying on Roland's good side). I've seen the ending of TPS before via YouTube, years ago, but I remember enough that she's a fucking hypocrite to put Athena on any sort of trial.
Screw Lilith, I hope she dies in BL3. Everyone would be better off.

Blizzard eventually figured out with Diablo 3 that the best way to handle that kind of thing is to let the player manually bump up the difficulty themselves, and to reward them for doing so. That's another thing that Gearbox needs to steal from them.
It's extra fire damage based on critical with a chance of a DoT. Remember, while enemies are on Fire they cannot regenerate shields.
Also bullets ricochet toward other enemies.
The COM thingie for that tree helps a lot.
