Man, I really dig this legendary sniper rifle I found on Pandora. The True Monocle? In long-distance fights it really turns into a clicking-on-heads simulator. I click on a head, they explode in a gore fountain.

I somehow ended up with 85 golden keys over two days, so have been getting lots of goodies (including legendaries) out of the box.
... How?
Dunno, I entered some keys during launch night that people were posting in chat and my mailbox for two days was spammed with "you've redeemed 3 golden keys" mails. In BL2 I just used Cheat Engine to make the box "free" to open even though I had hundreds of keys.
Performance on PC on my end is shit, sub 60fps 1080p most of the time, and my computer isn't old. There doesn't appear to be any particular reason why this would be so much more demanding than Borderlands 2/PS, so my only assumption is that they fudged up the optimization, somehow.
Optimization in general seems to be problematic across the board, though console sounds like it’s getting the worst of it. I’m maintaining 60-70fps on ultra 1440 with a 1080ti though, so i think I’m having one of the better experiences.

Well, it *is* on a new engine for them. It's built in Unreal.
Can't say I've had any problems with how it runs, although I *do* have a massive brick of RAM.

lol i just found a legendary corrosive assault rifle called breath of the dying
Even with a i9-9900k, 2080 Ti, 32 gigs of RAM, etc., I notice a few minor amounts of mini-lag doing certain things. It's not very noticeable but I've been keeping an eye out since everyone's been discussing it.
In spoilers, please, how long until weapon slots 3 and 4?
All story based:
IIRC the third one is after you help Lorelie. Haven't gotten the second one yet.
And just in case wondering: Class Mods
After you do Hostile Takeover mission
EDIT: These maps are fucking huge. I know they can't do the procedural maps that Diablo does, but you don't even really notice it with how much space there is. And with every map having it's own Crew Challenges. . .big.

Until they fix some of the game's problems, I recommend not doing the "Kill Kilavolt" side mission. The Zoom Lag is much worse in this zone, enemies literally spawning on top of me, and a mini-boss just fell through the world and died and now I can't recover her token to finish the mission. I'm starting to get pretty frustrated. This is a big-time, $60 AAAAA title, and and it was not ready for release.
I seem to need A LOT more ammo to kill enemies in BL3, I don't know if they gave them more resistance or made their health pools noticeably larger, but I need an entire magazine or more to kill even standard mobs at my level, unless I score a couple of crits. I suspect this is on purpose, to force players to carry and use multiple weapon types, but it's a big switch from previous games in the series.

I quite like it. The whole game has felt, to me, much like endgame in Borderlands 2 - but much earlier, and with much greater variety in both enemy and weapon types.
Which is impressive, because 2 had a surfeit of both already.

Things get super bullet-spongey real fast if you're not constantly doing headshots/crits and/or swapping weapons to take advantage of elemental weaknesses. Going from the first planet to the second honest felt like I'd just bumped a difficulty slider from "normal" to "hard".

It may be, also, that some of my problems come from playing Moze, who is meant to do most of her fighting in Mech form and had her weapon damage nerfed in human form.
This is a fun-ass game! So fun in fact that I got ten hours in and then noticed I’ve been playing solo the whole time. So, uh... how do I play with other people?

Is this actually a thing? Because right now I’m only able to be in the mech like 5% of the time during fights. It doesn’t last long and the cooldown is pretty lengthy.

I don't know, just me speculating based on how weak Moze seems to be in fleshbag form.

this is pretty much nonsense. moze has tons of skills to increase gun and explosion damage and can be a powerhouse outside of mech.
Despite having a celebrity cameo already spoiled for me that quest is fucking hilarious. Spoilers for planet 4? I think its 4.
They keep coming and they are so horny, was so god damn hilarious
Also man rewards are so rewarding, like quests, chests, and mobs I'm constantly getting checking and adjusting. Aside from my "always have a jacobs" because yes. I got a volcano sniper that literally causes a volcano in the ground after you kill a dude.
Brawl Amara is great, just punching things aoe'ing and punching more dudes.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Kilavolt was a pain solo. I just grouped that one as it's hard to get his weakspot pointed at you.
Apparently there's a shield drop from a monster on Athena that trivialized the fight. It converts shock damage into shield. No idea of that's a world drip though

I'm indecisive as hell and rolled one of each and taken them though getting Catch a Ride access and to the Holy Broadcast Center and I'm.so torn.
All 4 classes are fun as hell to play and I have a personal list of pros and cons for each so far.
I'm leaning towards a first complete story run as Amara, walking a line between Brawl and Fist of the Elements to maintain status effects for ever. Getting her her first couple of elemental weapons and pumping Anima some, early game shit is melting.
Zane will be my back up, though F4lk and Moze are not forgotten.

Yeah I went full brawl to start and now I'm putting in the red tree whatever that one is called (so my gun shots have my action element currently). Amara's blitz punch is pretty nice it closes the distance well, and outright deletes smaller enemies and hits a big chunk on lower ones. Now of course this is all playthrough 1, god knows if that'll hold true for p2.
I've actually found the length of boss fights fun, but I think that's being able to stay up and full of bullets for the fights which is a major improvement over bl2.

I stupidly opened like all my mail which filled my inventory up with stuff I want to hold on to.
Have to get off Pandora.
Sorry, I meant in terms of time/level.
I feel like I spent about 4 maybe 5 hours on Pandora, but that was because I tried to do as much as possible at the moment. If you beeline The Holy Broadcast Center you can do it very quickly, maybe two hours?

Same on the bosses, thus far they're more fun than frustrating with some fun wrinkles.
And might I also say, shotguns are freaking amazing in the game. Before the only shotgun I ever kept was a Conference Call, but on every make pellet groupings are tighter than BL2 or PS ever were, their sound effects are deep and gorgeous and within 10 yards even a Tediore will knock someone on their ass and leave you openings to follow up or change your focus to a more dangerous foe.

You guys, these CoV guns are wacky. When it says they'll break, will they break forever or just in that "put it away for a while" way?
Twitch: akThera
Steam: Thera
It's shitty language. As far as I can tell, 'break' means 'take longer than usual to do a reload where your character fixes it.'
CoV guns are basically heat-based weapons. If you overheat, it punishes you with a long reload. That's it, as far as I can tell.

I figured as a gunner the best way to play was to run up to enemies and use V (melee attack). Is that not the case?
