Well, finally got my connection issues fixed last night (apparently it was something EA had to "activate" on my account, go figure). Has anyone heard anything about dealing with the issue that they for some reason have the only way you can play with friends is in a custom match (which appears to use a separate pool of people from Quickmatch)where it doesn't actually appear to fill any of the spots if you only have two players? Kinda sucks if that oversight is as huge as it appears to be.
I don't see any reason to ever have more than two strike teams, really. Anyone see otherwise?
I guess maybe in case one of yours gets a some bad negative traits and needs to be replaced? May be nice to have one building in the background on bronze missions. Just a thought.
I have 3 and most of the time I have at least one sitting idle due to complete lack of missions. And that is WITH throwing one of them at golds constantly. So yeah more than that seems like overkill.
They added a new Krogan unit (gladiator) and Krogan shotgun to the store already. However now I can't access that Apex mission on the special map anymore
EDIT: Gladiator has Pull, Annihilation Field, and Nova.
By the way, anyone finding the no recharge Lance on a vanguard with charge kinda silly. It is like a sniper rifle with no recoil and a super high rate of fire. Wrecks shields in like 1 second with offensive bio, then charge.
My skill loadout at this point is Throw/Annihilation/Lance. With the biotic profile and the passive that makes combos detonate again after a second or two, I can clear a room with annihilation up and a single lance.
I'd use lance if it had tracking like throw or singularity. Not liking it turned out to be a good thing, though. I dropped it after missing too many shots and picked up backlash instead, which is like... the best new biotic power. Love backlash so much!
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
I'm using the Asari Adept as my main MP character right now and I am struggling a bit with Lance. Love the annihilation field throw combination though. With the rapid fire Kett shotgun I can quite handily deal with close quarter threats.
Is there anyway to get Sam to stop saying how I can scan for minerals every fing time I open the mineral scanner?
I desperately wish you could turn off Sam's alerts for everything. Traversing Voeld (and presumably any region with frequent changes in conditions) is obnoxious as fuck.

That's my MP go to right now and lance is for jerks who get too close, with throw being the work horse.
At least that's the theory but I default to using RB way more than LB. Which you could swap powers around.
honestly the vanguard build seems so powerful it's kind of boring. i don't have to worry about positioning much at all because in two seconds i can teleport like 80 feet across the battlefield.
i might respect to try something else for a while, since respecs are kind of insanely cheap.

Could be a problem later if combos work the way they did in ME3. Weaker primer means weaker combo.
Also I did a Silver on my Angara Insurgent. I did a lot better then I thought I would do since I felt like all I did was run away and throw trip mines everywhere. Kind of wish they did more with support though. A measly +10 support to giving everyone overshield when they're about to die seems like a pittance.

Well the primer is AF which is the highest leveled thing so far. Though I will have to make a choice here soon about which to level up to detonate. Lance's top level upgrade eating shields instead of CD is sexy with AF kills giving shields back.

It trades tracking for headshot ability. I'm kind of getting fond of it, not that I can ever hit a weak spot...
These strike teams are weird. My starter team has done the most missions, but has "elite" and nothing else. Meanwhile my second team has three different +10 traits and a -10 trait, despite doing fewer missions. The second team is the one that gets sent on suicide runs.
What is this I don't even.

im kind of disappointed by the combat in the single player at least
doesnt feel appreciably deeper than me3 and being unable to hotbar your allies powers and only having 3 skills kinda sux 8(
the idea of the cross class interactions is cool but kind of pointless because you dont get cool new detonations by mixing the types. i was hoping they would go for a system more like detonator determines combo shape with primer determining type, so you could use overload on a fire prime to get chain fire or whatever, but its relatively limited. the elemental weapons are similarly not super interesting because they dont interact with your powers as you would hope other than damage bonuses
I currently run a weakly biotic Infiltrator.
Incinerate, cloak, lance.
Incinerate + lance to detonate if a bunch of dudes are too close to deal with and i need some panic aoe bust. Or if a bunch of dudes are behind cover. Hook an incinerate around the corner to prime, then scope lance whatever body part i can get.
Overload might be more effective for spec focus, but rpwise i love the idea of a sniper who takes the snipey ability as her only biotic.
I kind of wish I could do missions with my Strike Teams. It's sort of silly and they would probably all be basically identical but I would like the idea of me being able to help out one of my teams and get them leveled or something like that.

key point with lance is that you can aim it down scopes and shoot it while still scoped in so very handy with scops on pistols/rifles init

That would be hella cool, but I'm kind of okay with them keeping the system a bit limited. One thing I didn't care for Dragon Age Inquisition is that there's a ridiculous amount of combo combination and I have no time to react to all of them at once, especially in Multiplayer.

Nahhhh bruh. I don't want to control my squad mates in a game like this. I just want to focus on flinging myself around that battlefield and that works great here.

look man im here for the combos lemme inject them into my VEINS
also some of the combo effects are profoundly underwhelming
overload/tech primed combos just produce a little piddly field of lightning which "stuns enemies" but really just makes them flinch a bit
fire explosions are ok
default cryo explosions are AWFUL unless you are using rank 6 cryo beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeem

in the older ones you could hotbar specific ally abilities which was great for combos
it was just like having the ability yourself

Man, I really wish this game had some sort of black emporium option.

Yea I know. I played those. I never did that. Because it's still them using their powers. I don't care what it's LIKE. I care what it is! I worry about me and they worry about them. Zap pew KAPOW!

Well, it did give you a bonus, just not to the experience you wanted it to be for. :P

I think the update fixed it. I see the stuff in the shop now.
I use a sighted pistol to aim Lance if the target is decently far.
