To reiterate, this game is huge. I'm at exactly 50% completion and 66 hours in according to the save file. I mean, yeah I took my time, but I was not the most thorough I could be.
Keep in mind "completion" these days isn't story related, but every little thing like "find all 20 pieces of pottery!" and every little possible thing like that you can do.
Does the real time scenes of moving between planets get shorter later in the game?
Because this shit got old for me after the second planet.
Why is this shit so long?!
It's a loading screen.
If it's a loading screen then what is it loading when it takes forever to go from opposite ends of the map to system with absolutely nothing in it? (As in, no areas to land and explore, etc.)
I think it exists because without it there would be nothing keeping a person from quickly sweeping through the map and gathering all the resources. Mechanically there doesn't seem to be any other purpose.

When you walk around on the Tempest, you can see the planet or object you last looked at outside.
I have it on an SSD, and it really isn't too bad. Still longer then I'd expect for how little it seems to be loading for most planets, but not long enough for me to really complain about them. However, there have been 2 or 3 times where it hit some bug and just never dropped me out of light speed, so that's pretty annoying.
I think the only real loading bit is when it does the last little zoom in. It's certainly not taking the whole travel time. It's basically a Resident Evil door (they played in full regardless of when the level loaded).

So heads up, if you can't seem to scan an object despite it being highlighted and the cursor pinging, reduce your FOV. I had this happen to some optional scans on Vetra's loyalty and just moved on, and then ran into one necessary to progress Peebee's loyalty mission so I looked it up.
Also earlier on Peebee's mission steps there's a part where you have to track down a few things on the first few planets. On Havarl, there's a bug where if you enter through one door instead of the other and continue on, it'll break. You can still enter through said door, but you have to at least run over TO the other door first because for some reason they only put the quest trigger over there. Who knows.

Eh, that shouldn't be a demanding load considering it's just a window view—even all the window views in a system. I reload from death a planet surface faster than I transition between systems.
Anyway, I'd rather have an actual loading bar so the loadtime isn't tied to a movie length, e.g. every time I have to watch the Tempest land/depart a planet. Seems like such an obvious mistake in the age of SSDs.
I think Cobra damage works differently than it did in me3. Back then it was, aim at their feet and watch them die. Now, I have done damage but failed to kill a Fiend, but I've also killed a Destroyer with full shields. So maybe the damage diminishes from the point of impact, or maybe it has turned into a hitscan thing and you actually want to hit your target.
It's definitely not hit scan, and you definitely want to be hitting your target as I've had instances where I've hit close and not had any damage register.
Also, I've thought about leveling up the Havoc Trooper next. Only, instead of speccing for dakka I think there might be enough melee bonuses to try a jetpacking ground pound melee spec. Gonna Mario all up ins.
tbf, nothing about Ryder leads me to believe that Ryder has any sort of poker face whatsoever

tbf, nothing about Ryder leads me to believe that Ryder has any sort of poker face whatsoever
And to be fair Gil has been playing Poker a lot longer than Ryder has. Like it was feasible in ME2 you could lie about your skill and actually possess some. Ryder not so likely, far too early in her/his career, and not a lot of down time for either one to really have the time to pick it up.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Well this is annoying. Somewhere around Level 25 the ammo boxes stopped providing me with ammo. I need to go all the way back to an Outpost or similar safe zone to re-equip.

Gil's basically a pro. He tells you he knows the odds of every hand and bets accordingly. Someone like that is going to be really hard to beat.

Yep, 95 hours and 80ish percent complete at end of last mission because i ignored those unmarked fetch quests. Can't guess how long a full complete would take without a guide.

Has anyone else done Liam's Loyality mission? Cause I just finished it and have some questions
Namely, what did Liam do and why are we arguing? It makes it hard to choose what to do with the Angara cause I have no idea whats going on. Something with codes?
ARs are the all around strongest weapon I think, especially as you get higher weapon ranks and skills. They have the highest combination of damage/clip and DPR.
Wait really?? I haven't spent a great deal of time in MP yet but so far, ALL the guns except the vanquisher seem to be straight trash. ARs were no exception.
I stopped playing with my Turian soldier pretty early when I figured out none of the ARs were worth a damn and I was better slapping my charger X on him, which frankly is dull as hell. Was especially disappointed to find out how useless the mattock had become
"Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination."
I stopped being scared and took the plunge into Gold a couple of days ago. In general it doesn't seem noticeably more difficult than Silver except during objective waves against Kett. Things can get pretty hectic trying to complete uploads or hacking with two Ascendants and at least one Fiend and a billion Anointed rampaging around. One or two players generally have to try to kite them away from the objective, which is often a suicide mission since things keep spawning around the map as long as the objective is up.
On the upside, people in Gold (except me) tend to have somewhat decent weapons and Ascendants go down pretty fast when the entire team descends upon one.
Yeah gold right now tends to have people who are pretty competent. Devices on wave 6 seems to be the real "oooh shiiii" thing.
Uploads actually seem harder to me, especially when you can see one site from another one. Wave six, it just gets impossible to clear a zone, much less to adjacent ones
When I see upload is up, I tend to spread out from my team specifically to avoid getting spawn fucked. I've noticed other players doing the same.
It can be acrap shoot on wave 6. If your team doesn't have the dps to hold a point probably going to get rolled on the last one though. Granted a scatter approach will get one maybe two capped.
From what ive seen it is all in the team. I've done gold runs that felt like bronze because we ran together and covered each others backs. Folks have enough kit the headless chickens are able to pull bronze now and making life tough when they hit the harder levels.
So I just beat the main game. I made sure to find all the arks, and get all my planets up to 100% before embarking -- and I think it made a difference.
All the groups, pathfinders, and whatnot show up during the Meridian battle and do their thing. It was pretty epic.
Anyone else getting the impression that Bioware was super pissed that they couldn't have their super-happy synthesis ending in ME3, so they went ahead and (1st 2-hours spoiler)
foisted it on you via Pathfinders/SAM anyway as a slick little middle finger?
I dunno, but the whole thing came off to me as "Hey, we know you totes hated this in ME3 but fuck you now you're stuck with it bye hahahahah!
Edit:
Yes, I know the Arks left before ME3 - I'm talking from a purely meta point of view, not a canon point of view.

The charger X is a legit good gun. For some reason it does 2x the damage of its single player equivalent (or something equally dumb). So it might get nerfed.
I find however that it is significantly harder to hit weak points with it than the M-8. Though I have not tried it without a scope.

SAM spoilers
I'm sorry Knight, can I blow up SAM now?
I get it SAM, we are on a hot planet and there are above normal temperatures. Now shut the fuck up!

I kinda wish they did a better job of pointing out you have new emails
I just got done with a planet and came back to over a dozen emails for side quests on top of the game implying I should go do a plot mission right now
And I know nothing has a timer but it very much feels like "gha fuck all this imma go play multiplayer"
Also as the game progresses characters will have new stuff to say on old topics, but the freaking text stays grayed out

I love the krogan colony. I those little tail wagging headbutters.
It might break some of the immersion but i'd have also been ok with an option that places an indicator over a squad mate who has something new to say. Would limit those "Just checking in. Ok good chatting with you!" conversations i kept having.

Well that's irritating I didn't know that.
I know for certain that Drack and Cora have plenty of war stories to tell. And Kallo has plenty of stories regarding the construction of the Tempest. Not sure what the others are.

krogan LARP? Who knew?
Nah, seems a bit risky to be honest.
For whatever other (many) flaws the game has, the humor definitely works. Ryder is a hoot.
