Just picked up Submerged and Darksiders II through the Humble store since they were both on sale. Submerged was only $3.99, which seemed like a pretty good price (and was actually $3.59 since I've got the Humble Monthly discount).
And yesterday I received a physical copy of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in the mail through Amazon. It was about $13, included 6+ DVD install discs, and most importantly, a Steam key. It's going to be a long time before one can pick the game up for that price directly on Steam. I mean, they're still charging $19.99 for the original Call of Duty from 14 years ago. Good ol' Activision!
Free copy of Eador: Genesis to celebrate the arrival of Gremlins, Inc. I don't know anything about Eador but the price is right
If you own Renowned Explorers on Steam, go to GOG.com/connect and get your free GOG copy. I'm excited about this one because this is a perfect game to play on my work breaks but work blocks Steam.
Just a heads up, the Alan Wake games are getting delisted from Steam sometime next week, some of the music licenses are expiring, so I guess if you don't have that yet, and think you might want it, you should probably grab it sooner rather than later.

I noticed that the only Alan Wake thing that didn't seem to be in my library Alan Wake Bonus Materials. I've just added it so it's downloading but because it's free it still doesn't really show in my library if I check the store. Hopefully it doesn't disappear. One day I'll play Alan Wake. One day.
EDIT: Further investigation shows that the "Bonus Materials" includes soundtrack and music stuff so, it could very well be affected by expiring music licenses. Hopefully everyone who owns the base game gets to keep the free DLC, even if they haven't officially downloaded it.
I'll never understand expiring licenses when it comes to digital games/distribution. You'll never want not to be able to sell the game, and in this case, is not like Alan Wake was made(ported) before Steam took off.

I agree completely. Or, different licences and agreements for different countries, when you're talking about digital goods. Where you can get something in Country A over the internet, but not Country B. Or why everything is so expensive for Australians.

one of the most annoying cross country things I heard of was a guy with his kindle. He was going to Singapore for a few months so he filled his US kindle with a bunch of books. When he landed in Singapore, his kindle said it had an update waiting. Turned out the update was to remove any books not licensed to be available in Singapore.
Licensing rules can be very confusing and annoying but people are very wary of giving up control of their works for an indefinite period of time for any reason. I guess the thinking is that, if the game maker want to keep going with it, then they can ask to renew the license thus netting more money for the person who owns the rights. But it sucks balls for the consumer.

Edit: Looks like the date is May 15th.
Folks might want to hold off on buying it until tomorrow, because there will be a pretty good sale!
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET THE ALAN WAKE GAME CHEAP
I CRAVE ASSISTANCE
If you check the Remedy Entertainment twitter, they said starting tomorrow there is gonna be a Alan Wake sale with 90% discount(on steam). So, no worries
Edit: Mostly ignore this, cause someone actually posted the tweet in this thread
Dark Souls 3 is only e like $25 at humble store. It's tempting, although I haven't quite finished DS2, disappointing Karoz's everywhere.
Anyways, I'm in the second to last zone of Beyond Good and Evil and the glitchy graphics (due to the port) plus poor KBAM controls are showing their age. Still I'm enthralled enough to see it out though I'll probably be opening a walkthrough at this point.

Sorry man, I got sucked into an Elite: Dangerous wormhole, and now I find myself seriously considering spending $1200 to upgrade my PC and buy a Rift so I can play in VR...
Speaking of which, Elite is on sale at the Humble Store as well!
Just a few more hours of work... then it's vacation time. Woo! A whole week off and nowhere to be, no commitments...
My dad sent me some Amazon funbucks (for reasons), so now I can finally order a controller to replace my broken one and then finally - back to NieR! Yay!
That is, if I can drag myself out of the Fallout 4 hole I dug. Seriously, someone send help! Throw me a rope?

Modding throwable and climbable ropes into Fallout 4 seems like an excellent project.
Overlord II, beaten. The story really exposits at the end more than anything, and before then, it's semi-directionless (destroy Glorious Empire, take over the world). It was fun, but not as good as the first, to be honest.
At least the last boss was more intuitive than the previous game's last boss . . .
vanilla boss or DLC boss
I'd sort of say both? The DLC Overlord boss was also annoying, but less so than the vanilla boss. Overlord II's boss was at least mostly explained what they expected of you straight out, instead of having to puzzle it out and die (like I did with the DLC boss) or just take a damn long time (like the vanilla boss).

I never played the DLC plot extensions on Alan Wake. I should give those a go sometime. Must be included in the Steam version, I don't see them listed separately. Good game. Played American Nightmare not too long ago. I wonder if they'll manage to take it further. It didn't seem like Quantum Break went over super well, but I'm keen on playing through that eventually.

just wanted to pop in and say This Is The Police is absolutely fantastic, I'm only about halfway through but loving the time-management sim gameplay, excellent voice acting, and AMAZING soundtrack! Like, for real, the music in this game is so good, I'm sad the OST isn't on Steam https://youtu.be/gg7rRMHvMkU?t=1807s
As a Twin Peaks nerd, I should be picking up Alan Wake, right? I seem to remember comparisons being thrown around when it was new.
Eeeeeh. It's barely vaguely in the same vein maybe but it's still basically a horror based, guy-needs-to-save-his-woman standard game not a weird myths game. Deadly Premonition is more Twin Peaks than Alan Wake.
Alan Wake is more in the realm of Stephen King. A lot of the dark nebulous entity messing with the world, and people's dark thoughts etc.
(And the Lovecraftian horror of product placement taken too far)
I guess I'd better start keeping a record of what I put in this playlist every once in a while so I know what disappears from it as videos get killed off.
Looks like the Persona 5 and Nier were wiped out. Makes sense that the new stuff would be less stable.
So far today I have learned that Risk of Rain has an awesome soundtrack. I'm sure that's common knowledge. I played the game a bit but never got very hooked on it.
Happily it looks like I also own the soundtrack on Humble.
Edit: actually Alan Wake did a pretty good job in its use of licensed music too. Shame that's what is getting it pulled. I turned me onto Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds.
