Magic the Gathering Medical Artwork Suggestions

Okay, here's the situation.

A very good friend of mind is about to graduate med school, and I want to get him a cool gift. He's a huge MTG fan and so I was thinking about getting some kind of magic card art print with a medical theme. He's kind of a metal head too so my first thought was

or how about the classic

or maybe go darker with

Or cause he's doing family medicine

I play MTG pretty casually, and don't have anywhere near an encyclopedic knowledge of the cards, let alone the art that goes with them. So I'm just asking for suggestions on any other cards that would make a cool art print.

Samite Healer (original artwork) if you're just going for the medical theme.

Stitch Together for something a bit more metal.

I think this is a great idea.

I don't have any card suggestions, but I would suggest you get him a series of smaller prints rather than one large print. It will emphasize the medical theme over just a MTG print hanging on the wall.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

the "no true scotch man" fallacy.

You may also want to consider where this is going to be displayed.
I can't speak for others, but if I went into a doctor's office and they had Leeches or Pestilence blown up and on display, I don't know if I'd stay with that doctor.

Of course, if this is the kind of thing that's going to be kept on a wall at home, that's an entirely different story.

I absolutely would, but I'm a nerd, and "doctor to nerds" might be cutting your clientele a little too fine. :D

    Some Regeneration examples:
I'm a nerd too (I'm sure that comes as a shock), and if I saw the goblin medic or chirurgeon cards blown up in a doctor's office, I'd think they were hilarious and try to be a patient for life.
But some of the imagery on some of the cards would cross my personal line between "That's pretty cool" and "That's pretty creepy" when blown up to wall hanging size, especially if done so without referencing the source material. I mean, just the picture from Pestilence, blown up to 8x10, would be a creepy thing to see on the wall at a doctor's office.

Though, now that you mention it, I kind of want to find a nerd doctor. No old worn copies of "Highlights for Children" or dog eared copies of "Home and Garden" in the waiting room, instead you've got a bookshelf filled with assorted roleplaying sourcebooks, a table of White Dragons and No Quarters laid out, maybe a display case in the corner showcasing customer's miniatures. Boring generic flower art on the walls replaced by character art or fantasy settings, majestic castles in the sky, that kind of thing.
