Tasty, I feel for you, because it'd be nice to be able to explore the world that Bungie's building and not rely on groups - sometimes, people just prefer to play solo - but it seems like Bungie's ethos continues to be that most content is not designed for solo play. So... with that in mind, I think matchmaking is the only real concession/accommodation that they can make. I mean, they're balancing for group play and synergy. I don't think they were ever going to go the route of, for example, the Division, which puts an emphasis on group play but also allows for lone wolf play without it feeling out of place. I.e., some people in this world are just traveling and surviving alone. But in Destiny... I don't think Bungie wants people to be experiencing content alone.
To be fair, the lead dev just said in an interview snippet and again on stage that you can play solo and that it's his preferred method of play. So ... there you go!

Plenty of solo stuff, better and (hopefully) more reliable ways to party for whatever content you want, purdy, Nathon Fillion.
It doesn't sound at all like the much more MMO that had been hinted (by Kotaku, mainly, with Schreier who is, not terribly surprisingly, considerably less reliable and accurate than he'd like to think he is), which is a huge relief for me.
Now I just need to decide which platform to get it on. :rotate:
