Hey, quick question: Got a couple of codes to redeem for games, but I thought I read that you can't move games from one storage (internal) to another (SD).
I've got a MicroSD on the way and would like to go ahead and get the games now, but I don't want them stuck on the console. Is that a real problem?
Even though games can't be moved, they can be redownloaded. So you could just download them again after you get your card.

I wonder if they'll also make more color joycons so I can actually be able to purchase some.
It's Nintendo so expect a plethora of colors.
Which is good because I want unique colors for each joycon set.
At this point I'd take any colors but grey. Never seen any for sale anywhere.
I want them to release classic controller colorways, obviously including NES/SNES, but more importantly, I just want a sequel to my GameCube Spice Orange controller. That has to be my favorite controller I've owned
Capcom already detailed what gets imported from MHX saves to MHXX, which is quite nearly everything.
If importing, you even get a 1-time choice to fully redesign your hunter from scratch.
HR is capped during the import, to right at the start of G-Rank.
All actual losses are minor, such as your unread Streepass inbox and in-progress Meownster Hunter missions being canceled without refund.
MHXX is even more of a straight upgrade than MHF2 > MHFU, which was the last title to allow such an import. Without going into detail, they remarked that very few adjustments have been made to existing equipment.
The 3DS version of game has actually been out for a bit now, so all of this is sort of old news. What was just announced was that MHXX on Switch could import a save file from MHX 3DS, in addition to the same bi-directional save transferring that was present between 3U versions.
I kind of miss how 3U worked, where much of the new content was seamlessly integrated with the existing setup of Tri. 4U was pretty blatant about leaving 4's content almost entirely intact while stapling on the new stuff into separate areas. I assume that MHXX works pretty much the same way?
MHXX has a completely new main town for G-Rank, but does not change existing low or high rank missions and story.
3U was actually a weird hybrid of Tri and MHP3rd. It was closer to P3rd content and balance-wise, but used a patched Tri engine instead of P3rd's last hurrah for the MHFreedom engine. There was actually a large amount of content cut down from Tri:
- Tri had all available hunting quests repeated in each rank (minus Deviljho and Alatreon being High Rank only). This meant you could, for example hunt Rathian in Flooded Forest, Sandy Plains, and Deserted Island, both in Low and High Ranks.
- 3U parceled out this same pool of 2-3 quests per monster, as 1 quest per rank, severely compressing both Low and High Rank as a result.
- Dynamic time of day was fully abandoned, Whereas Tri had day and night variations of each quest with different item and small monster pools, time was fixed to the quest and only one variant was kept, like in MHF2, MHFU, and MHP3rd.
- Night no longer falls in Moga Village. The beautiful nighttime theme is heard all of once in the entire game, during an early story scene.
- Equipment was completely rebalanced for a second time.
I suspect the inability to import veterans' saves, plus accompanying big content cuts for newbies, weren't so popular with Japanese players. Hence the return to "bolt on" upgrades for 4>4U and X>XX.
I for one was severely disappointed 3U wasn't a straight expansion with a fully intact Tri as its base. Since Gen 2 I've been repeatedly disappointed by stuff being lost or pointlessly changed when the game is ported. Really glad the series has found a stable home and isn't throwing stuff away any more.

Sigh, dammit, Nintendo...
I trust this has been tried by someone already?
Is it possible to make the purchase, but not download it yet?

I know nothing about MH. That said, is MHXX an upscaled 3DS game? The visuals sure have that look.
MHXX came out on 3DS in Japan a bit over a month ago; it'll likely come to the US under the name Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. There are some visual improvements aside from resolution. The textures and some of the models shown in the Switch trailer have been touched up a bit. The lighting and shader effects are also a bit better. The comparison tweets in this post do a good job showing off some of the graphical upgrades.

I know it seems like a small thing, but I really hope nintendo makes a left joycon that has the traditional D-pad.
I know it goes against the whole "break the controllers away and play" thing they have going on right now, but 99.9% of my switch time is spent solo, so having a D pad instead of buttons would be very nice for stuff like Street Fighter, Zelda, Issac... shit, pretty much everything.

Using the joycons "d-pad" for Street Fighter 2 is damn near impossible. I'm forced to use the analog stick as I can't even make simple combos happen with the "d-pad" (more like d-buttons really).
So I gave up on LEGO City. Actually, I think I'm done with the entire LEGO game franchise. They're just not for me. Thankfully, I managed to trade it for $30 after paying $40 for it. Just threw that at Splatoon 2.
I love the LEGO series but I feel like there's only enough room in my heart for one. I couldn't stomach three or four games of cookie-cutter stud collection, and since star wars is the license I'm most attached to that's the LEGO game for me.
More details about the development of Mario + Rabbids. The most interesting takeaways is that it has been in development for quite some time (and started on Wii U), it has Amiibo support (with Ubi prototyping their own figures), and this:
From talking to a handful of those involved with it, there is a prevailing sense of Nintendo letting go of the reins with the project. Their involvement with it isn’t as controlling as you might imagine. While representatives of the ‘Big N’ are closely overseeing it and their approval is required for anything concerning the use of their characters; even the most outlandish ideas from the developers have been met with little resistance. Nintendo is letting Ubisoft play freely in the Mario sandbox with few restrictions and that creative freedom is evident in just about every aspect of it.
That's really weird since Miyamoto has been very protective of the IP as of late. He's seen as one of the big reasons the recentMario rpgs (Paper and M&L) have been so lackluster in the story department.
Yeah, all due respect to Miyamoto but he doesn't seem to have much understanding of RPGs. But then again, I'm pretty sure those games did better then Thousand year door so...
At any rate, as long as the game isn't utterly terrible or they give shadow Mario a gun or something stupid like that they're probably happy to let Ubisoft experiment as it's not a "true" Mario game as such.
Sticker Star only sold 700,000 more copies than TTYD. That may seem like a lot, but remember that the 3DS outsold the Gamecube by some absurd ratio like 3:1.
Color Splash probably did worse, but at that point the Wii U was at death's door.

That image isn't really fair to Color Splash though. I know there are a ton of toads in the game that are different colors and outfits.
Colours sure. Outfits? Some of them have accesories but that's about it. Other then the Ghost toads you have rescue toads, which are regular toads with a scarf. Their captain who is the same but with sunglasses, the Chosen toads which are generic toads with keys on their heads.
The most elaborate toad design other then the ghosts is probably these guys.

Just, you know, not a whole lot of any individual color.
Honestly heteogenous colors isn't terrible since it makes it easier to distinguish left joycon from right.

I thought it might look dumb, but the red/blue combo looks quite nice. It's playful, but it doesn't look like a kid's toy or anything.
You will need to transfer your Gen save to a MHX save, which cannot be done on official hardware.
If you have a copy of MHX/MHXX on 3ds then it should be transferable to the JPN XX release in August
