(I shame myself, I've never played persona 1)
persona 2 velvet room, opera room
persona 3 velvet room, an unused study elevator
persona 4 velvet room, giant limousine coach
persona 5 velvet room, prison cell
Fixed then. It looked like a study to me. But given how bullshit tall tartarus was, it wouldnt surprise me that Minato would want a goddamn elevator somewhere
I'm pretty sure that's as high as you can get for that.
EDIT: Maybe NG+?
You can def get above average on the first one.

Well, if all goes well for my Birthday (next month) I'll finally have P5. Man, I'm avoiding major plot spoilers as best I can. But unf. It's going to be hard to pull away from Destiny but I want to get into the game.
And Persona 1 was a Jazz Club for the Velvet Room. That's why it's called that. The idea was a club for the Persona users.

I now suddenly want to open a Jazz Club with that name. Though, Persona and jazz are both pretty niche and I think the overlap between the two is even smaller.
Theory for the start of the game now that i just finished palace 5.
I'm not being interviewed by the real Sae am i this is her shadow drilling me what with the Shadow fight at the start of the game in the casino. Otherwise it makes no sense that i was captured by actual real police in the metaverse
Though I've run into three Stone of Scones in palace four so far.

Fourth palace was substantially easier than the third, but that's probably because I neglected confidants in the run up to the latter and put a tooooooon into them this time. Also, protect futaba at all costs

Yeah it has been pretty cruisy so far, partly because my whole it kitted out with SP patches and partly because the groups of enemies are nowhere near as dangerous as the third. Anubis and Mot are the only threatening stuff I've come across so far.

I can't tell if the scene where Joker's alone with Makoto on the beach is specific to dating Makoto, which I am. It was fully voiced and definitely appeared to be romantic, but I know they sometimes do that with literally every female character even before you've committed to someone. I know there was nothing similar on the previous beach trip.
Mine was different.
It was with Hifumi Togo. I was not dating her at the time.
It's triggered from the conversation with Ann and Ryuji in your hotel room the day before, I think.
ah, well, I did say I wanted someone smart so I suppose that lines up
Yeah, the conversation the day before sets the options
I chose someone smart, and had the option of both Hifumi and Makoto. Neither was romanced yet, though both were in the Rank 7 or 8 range. I was aiming for Makoto this playthrough anyway, and chose her.
a couple of days late, but
I picked "nice body" and got the same options. So that may not be what triggers it...

P1 and P2 are basically the same place, until Philemon decided not to renew the lease. Igor's been changing residences ever since.
As much as I love P5 so far, I really think the formula has to end here. They've refined it as much as possible. The future of Persona should go back to being P2. There can be be-all/end-all destinations that move the story forward, but apart from that, you should have free reign to spend your time however you want. The 'you have one year' thing made sense in P3. It's been forced since then.

I wonder if the P3 hanging plotline will be resolved in the Arena series, if that continues with 'Persona 5 Arena', because it was directly continued but still not completed there.
As for P2.... Nyarlathotep's still around. I keep expecting him to show up as a main villain again someday.
These targets for heists are pieces of shit that deserve justice!
That's really cool that you guys think that, but right now, I cant possibly give a shit because fucking christ, I got a DVD that is a WEEK OVERDUE BECAUSE YOU WONT LET ME TAKE 2 GODDAMN MINUTES TO TURN IT IN.
The sim aspects are honestly getting more and more haphazard as they plop in more and more weird options like the DVD rentals. It kind of felt like they were going for the DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING open world approach and tossed in every possible thing they could think of. Like the batting cage minigame. Are you serious with that, guys? Couldn't the time spent coding that have been better used like... literally anywhere else?
And why I'm 100% A-okay with following a guide for Persona games, so I don't stumble into all the various frustrating ways you can screw yourself over because it nags at you to try out things that are hideously inefficient or just plain dumb to do, yet the crunch/hurt for it comes some 40 hours of game later as time starts to run out. Fine if you plan on playing through twice. Well, twice on the same game version. But otherwise, eh. I just really dislike it when games force a limited resource management system and then obfuscate as much of it as they can so you can't tell what's optimal, if you're doing well/badly, what you need to be prioritizing, so on and so forth.

10/14, major spoilers. Also spoilers if you haven't repaired a certain computer yet.
"Shit, this is really bad. Everyone thinks we're murderers, and a bunch of my confidants know I'm a phantom thief. I mean, at least I've been playing on the level and not doing anything that would make them think I'm up to no good..."
Nah the year thing works great, and things don't ever need to go back to P2 style mechanics ever again. FFS this is the best selling Persona game Atlus has ever made, they're not going backwards, they're going to iterate on what they know people want.

The social link and time management aspects are the biggest parts of why the games appeal to me and stand out from other jurps. Going away from that would kill a TON of my interest.

yea, I would be totally ok with all the extra added stuff if it didn't force your time. DVD rentals, shopping, library books, all the little quick stuff, I should be able to do whenever.
The only things that should force time forward are Skills Training, Social Links, and the Dungeon. Even then, after a dungeon, I should be able to go and shop and offload my swagbag.

Modern Persona is basically Princess Maker with confidants/social links replacing the skills and a more meaningful adventuring portion.
I think the only way to give it more way to stand out from the JRPG field and hooking the life sim crowd is if they introduced farm management a la Harvest Moon somehow.
Really enjoyed the Sun S-Link, it's the only one I've maxed so far but he has a lot of growth over the course of it. Sweet ability too but it was the one I've been most willing to drop everything to do.
I'm still waiting for them to do the one single thing Bioware has done right in romances.
Allowing party members to date each other (or npcs).
Or they could do what Fire Emblem does and make everything increasingly hollow and soulless.

I don't mind having a year limit as I like the time restrictions that said the fact that you don't know which days are and aren't truly free is annoying.
Honestly. I just wish Persona would move pass high school.
With P5 especially it feels like the general age of your protagonists should be skewing a bit older.
I mean even going to college would be a big step up and most of the systems would work the same.

I think there's a cultural difference going on. College life in Japan doesn't seem to get anywhere as glamorized in media as it tends to in the states. A lot fewer Japanese adults over a certain age hold college degrees compared to US adults in that same bracket which likely affects that a bit. That difference has since reversed with a greater percentage of younger than middle aged Japanese citizens now holding college degrees but I don't think it's propagated through their pop culture yet.
I remember reading a article that explained why highscool settings and such seem to be so popular in japan but i can't remember much of it.
Only that Highschool is often seen as the "Last vestiges of youthful freedom." So it's often used as escapism for people to Relive the glory days of youth or something.
