It's about as fast as it can possibly be this time around. Attack animations are quick, you can target a weakness with a button tap, even all out attacks are only a few seconds long. Cutting it out entirely would be too much of a change for the target audience, regardless of what they replaced it with.
Im certainly not advocating that persona change, just that another game that trims down the combat would interest me. I have only beat the 2nd dungeon so far, so we'll see if it picks up. But i just want to explore, not have the stupid cat tell me to go to sleep every day.
Max Sun Link is great, it lets you negotiate with higher level demons to join you.
So the first red aura'd enemy you see in each dungeon usually results with you getting a persona 10+ levels higher than you and most of the stuff in there.
I still had 3 days left and stealing route was secured so thought I had some free time for the final assault, then the game took away control and it skipped me 2 days. That bumping you back a week is brutal.
I saved in madamare's castle right before the paintings so not all is lost but damn, having to do a big portion over sucks.
I always thought these letters were fake, but yesterday I unlocked the Temperance Confidant...
I had some teachers in high school that I definitely would've been stoked to be able to call over to my house in maid costumes whenever I wanted
But then she's like "I do this for my sick sister." and it went from a sexy thing to a "Aw man... how can I help you out?" thing. I have the money she needs too, but it wouldn't let me give it to her =/
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

Is there a reliable way to get SP restoration items? Kind of sucks making 99% of the way through a dungeon only to be forced to retreat because you can't heal at all.

There are a few ways. For items, you can make coffee at night or buy some of the drinks sold in vending machines. The death confidant also sells SP restoration accessories (regain some SP each turn) and cuts the price in half at Rank 7.

Argh, the death confident does things to me that makes my crotch feel tingly........
Also, after persona 4, I was disappointed that none of the characters are clicking for me. Morgana is awesome but the others are alright.
86 Hours is my total playtime for finishing the game with a trophy % of 72%
I broke a fingernail jumping to turn off the TV because one of the final dungeon random encounters was freaking Mara and my cousin dropped in for a suprise visit with his 3 year old and i was not going to have a "Why are you fighting a giant dick chariot" conversation.

I like all the characters for the most part, Ryugi has some off moments but is no worse than Yosuke. It helps that he easily has the best voice acting of any of them. I should say that I'm really enjoying the game but I'm just going to say what I feel is off in comparison to P4.
I think part of it might be the the pacing feels somewhat disjointed? Or maybe it's the fact that having a knowledge of what happens in the future is what is preventing everything from fully clicking? I'm not sure exactly how to express it, I like the group and they do a good job of having everyone meet together, maybe it is just the fact that P4's were spread evenly over a month instead of being a bit more spread out in this one (which is weird, because I like that about it) is what is jarring.
I should ignore it but having knowledge of the opening events of the game looming over things is probably what is putting me off the most about the game. In P4, everything unfolds at a monthly pace but I never felt pushed for time, as I said above I like that not having the story anchored to a monthly schedule frees them to do more interesting things, but not knowing when that event is going to occur and if it's going to have the story end shortly after feels like it is putting a premium on how I should spend my time.
This all comes across as way more negative than I want or actually feel about the game, but that's the only thing I can pinpoint at the moment and even then I can't really completely nail down exactly what it is.
I'll have a think about it and see if I can express it more clearly.

Now if only he'd actually ever be available . . . I swear I just had a span of almost 2 weeks in late June and early July where he's either not been there or not doing a speech that night. He's at rank 5 while most of my other evening links that I started after him have caught up or surpassed him.
Did nothing but mainline this game all weekend. November spoilers.
No seriously, major spoilers, I would have been so pissed if I accidentally spoiled myself on this.
The entire game I'm side-eyeing Akechi (I picked up on the whole him being able to understand Morgana thing) waiting for him to reveal himself as the antagonist and right when I'm expecting it, BOOM, hey guys I'm your new party member and I'm rad.
Still not crossing him off the suspicion list though. In fact I think this might be a thing where he's still going to betray me but the game makes him a party member first as a fakeout.
Work today is going to go so slow, I had to put my PS4 in rest mode mid-boss fight with Shadow Sae because it was getting way too late.
oh, also: Empress was the latest confidant I've unlocked (pretty sure it's my last one, unless I'm forgetting one outside The World, which is usually tied to the endgame dungeons), and the transition to Sae's interrogation was probably the funniest yet. "YOU LOOK LIKE YOU'VE BEEN EATING HEALTHY! WHO PROVIDED YOU WITH THESE NUTRITIOUS ORGANIC VEGETABLES??"

I guess my problem is that I loved Chie the moment she spoke her first line. It's taking awhile for me to grow in the P5 cast, and I have yet to meet all of them. At the same time, Chie got turned into a damn cartoon character in her later incarnations while the P5 cast seem to be much more realistic and could actually exist in reality.
further googling suggests you might need to do the makin' coffee even mutliple times? if so, holy shit, game thanks for never giving an indication that that's ever the case in anything after the initial event
You know, something I've forgotten about and I don't think it's come up since the class trip...
I forgot that Futaba has full remote access to the camera on my phone.
That seems... dangerous. Wonder how many hard drives of pictures of the MC she's holding on to.

I assume I will never get anywhere without at least some guides it seems like. I spent all of april and only got my proficiency to 2 somehow. The rest are 1. Ryuji is rank 3 but the rest are 1/2.

i did that 35 hours ago
You don't. Those ranks just need a lot of points to progress, that's normal.

It also took me forever to get Sojiro to rank 4. I used Fortune rank 7 Affinity reading a few times on him till it said my relationship would progress.

Yea the accessories from Death will COMPLETELY remove SP troubles.
Like you can just stay in any dungeon indefinitely and leave with full SP every time.
generally i've reloaded when i went multiple times without actually upping the link
gots to maximize the time usage
Brewing coffee DOES give you two little "notes" of approval from Sojiro, so that's maybe where you are getting that tip from online sources. I went whole hog on dumping money onto the Affinity fortune reading on him, myself. Took forever.
Anyone got tips on how to increase guts quickly? I only found one book but didn't do much, I need more guts for doctor lady but this isn't going anywhere at this rate.

Big Burger Challenge! With the added benefit of increasing 4 out of 5 of your stats when you complete one tier of it. It's a good bet until you reach the third tier, then it's simply a good option to increase your Guts (3 points every time).
Finished palace 3 last night and now waiting for the deadline to pass. Favorite dungeon so far for the setting, and the boss fight was fun, though not quite as challenging as the last one.
Now that she's in the team I'm warming up to Makoto real quick. Helps that she keeps Ryuji and Morgana in line
Yeah, do the burger challenge. Go at night cause it's only 500 monies.
Eh, it's not so much more during the day and you should quickly be eliminating monetary woes from your life. I'd just go whenever works, if you need the night for some reason.
Then again, it depends on how aggressively you want to upgrade equipment at the shop and/or use sun or confusion to grind for money.

Check the school library and the bookshop. Pirate Legend and Gallant Rogue both raise Guts by 3. Studying at the diner with just coffee raises guts by 1. As mentioned, Big Burger Challenge raises Guts, and each level in Proficiency over 1 that you clear it with gives you points to everything but Kindness for the tier of the challenge. (ie you need to be a R2 Prof to clear Burger Challenge 1, which gives you 1 point in all but Kindness, R3 Prof to clear Burger 2, for 2 points in all, etc).
Also, spending time with doctor lady increases Guts. You only need it at R2 for her. Guts also takes the least points to level up, so don't sweat if you're not getting a ton.

Weird. I guess I just need to wait for her to show up.

What rank are you at? You need Kindness at rank 5 for R7, and to complete the related Mementos quest for R9.

No. It needs to be at rank 4 to start Hermit. And rank 5 to finish Hierophant.
Also, you needed it at rank 2 to start Lovers.
