Well i had been cutting down trees as i explored for campfire wood because i can use the fires to make updrafts to help with some tricky climbing so i had a bunch of wood as for the rupee's well i had gems up the butt from all my exploring and bombing the ore nodes as i found them. It's only 3000 Rupee/30 wood then 1500 More for all the insides.
I remember cutting down a bunch of trees for fun and my wife calling me a monster. From that point on, I was referred to as Calamity Link. Which, when you think about it, it’s pretty darn accurate.

My advice to anyone playing this game for the first time (Sort of i started it when it first came out but never got past the village)
When you're exploring keep an eye out for things that look funny a ring of rocks in the water? Throw a rock into it. A rock just sitting on the ground? Pick it up a odd depression in the ground look about for something nearby to roll into it. These korok seeds are hidden EVERYWHERE

Is there just the one Korok seed exchange NPC (with the maracas)? Are there more? Are they used for more than inventory space upgrades?
Only one he sticks around for 2 Upgrades where he starts then wanders off i found him again at the Riverside stable which is directly north of the bosh kala shrine where he gave me around 10 Upgrades before he stopped and mentioned moving i have not run into him since.

True Story ... and Yes I AM a MONSTER. I chuck a bomb in their direction every time I go to my house just to let them know I don't want them on my damn lawn all the time. They NEVER take the hint though.

There is only the one NPC who accepts Korok seeds as payment. Inventory space is their only use. You don't need to find them all to max out your inventory, but you're not going to want to skip them when you find them.
I like to use the leaf marker to indicate places that are clearly Korok seeds I don't know how to obtain yet.
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.
I'm on my third playthrough of the game right now and I'm still running into areas where I end up thinking "wait, have I ever found this particular Korok seed before?!"
Other random observations and comments from this current run (spoiled for the first time players)
I have figured out a way to climb in the rain successfully (in a lot of cases) to a degree that I had not before. If you are climbing a slope that is more gradual the thing to do is just hit B as you have the analog stick still pressed full tilt ahead in the moments where it looks like you are about to slide backward. More than likely you will have a brief hitch in your climb and then go right back to wherever you were without losing any significant momentum.
Really making an effort to use Cryonis on all the Guardians that are on standing water to collect all the Guardian parts underneath. I learned of that trick in my Master Mode run and its been really paying off. Even ended up finding a core at one point.
The way that the shock waves of electricity look when you are pulling off headshots on an enemy in the rain with a Savage Lynel Bow equipped with shock arrows looks really cool.
Killing Lynels and chopping off the legs of Guardians and then backflipping off of them and shooting them with arrows is still really satisfying. There is a particular move that the more powerful Lynels do every once in a great while that is a real motherfucker of an attack to a degree that I had forgotten. Just a massive leap with a particularly big shock wave that seems damn near unavoidable. That and if any of them are allowed enough time to draw out their bow are real "oh shit" moments, otherwise at this point I can mess around a lot while fighting them. The backside of Death Mountain leading into the far side of that large snowy field makes for a nice Lynel safari killing tour.
The area with the three Hinox brothers, Lurelin Village and the surrounding beach, and Satori Mountain are stupid good for finding rare bugs, lizards, and a ton of other various ingredients.
I find that I put myself directly in harms way most often anymore trying to get that perfect picture with any enemy not yet added to the Compendium.
Every now and then I like to bring back a method of killing enemies I devised while playing Master Mode of bombing them into water or freezing them and then simply pushing them into the water. Mostly just to be a jerk. There is a particular unfortunate Silver Moblin who has drowned to death quite a few times.
I still would maintain that the Blood Moon is one of the best and most clever new additions of this game. Just a great mechanic.
As much as I enjoy constantly letting down Beedle by not giving him that Energetic Rhino Beetle he is always eyeing I wish that he didn't have so much dialog afterward every time.
At some point you can't help but think to yourself that its pretty silly that the monsters in this game always just knock the human NPC characters in this game out and never resort to killing them, but its easy to understand why that is the case.
I've had some ragdoll moments this time around that have been really amusing. One such moment involved a Wizrobe and myself hurling down a mountain side by side after a poorly timed remote bomb explosion on my part.
There are still plenty of times where even now I just have to stop and look around and marvel at how goddamn good this game is capable of looking. Especially from some of the best high vantage points under the right weather conditions/times during the day and night cycle.
So i just got hit with a double whammy of awesome.
Decided to explore down near the south of Dueling peaks and found a big bridge and it had a bunch of lizard enemies on it so i killed them and noticed the music changed and i look around and there is this GIANT GLOWING LIGHTNING DRAGON just flying around and dipping in and out of the water and it was so cool and pretty and then after watching it fly away i noticed that something read streaked across the sky like a comet so i followed it and it was a bright red treasure chest that had the xenogears helmet in it!
Handy tip for HW that I never picked up because I came to this from the WiiU version: Fairy summons are the only attacks that can kill enemies that haven't been rendered yet. So going into a red area on the map will get you a ton more kills than a special attack could possibly achieve.
This turns the rack up your kills levels into funny funny jokes when a single summon kills several hundred enemies.
Especially because those levels are lousy with magic.

That was my favorite moment a few days ago when my friend found that creature. I just got a text out of nowhere...
Yeah, it surprised me too. I put 150 hours into the game before DLC, got all the shrines, memories, quests etc. and I was generally extremely thorough when exploring..and I still only got about 280 seeds.
When you stop and consider what that means in terms of Korok population versus that of any other race in the game, including Hylians themselves, there are simply way more Koroks than all other populations combined.
Those little tree guys could take over Hyrule. I'm not sure how they wage war against Gorons but maybe enough Koroks latch themselves onto a single Goron and then just drop them from a really high elevation.
Edit: Oh, duh, just fly everything else to the volcano and drop 'em in.
1000 seeds. You only need around 450 or so to max out everything they do for you. And indeed, the game kind of mocks you for being silly enough to collect them all.

Those Koroks are ... little trees. Think about what a tree does to a rock. Have you ever seen a rock busted wide open by tree roots ... it's not pretty. Thankfully they are peaceful fun loving little buggers.
Also, am I the only one that messes with Beedle by making him fall over with my horse (every time) and also by chucking bombs at him (also every time) when I see him? No? ... Only me then? Okay. I did say that I was a Monster. Then again something about that guy rubs me the wrong way. I guess I dislike thieving, scheming, and price gouging little pricks more than I thought. It's ON Beedle ... I do love it when he gets scared by like wolves or something ... brings joy to my cold cold heart.
I don't know how they could survive the volcano when anything wood burns. Gorons would be the most protected of anyone against them.
In my mind there are like 30-40 Koroks flying a single Goron into the air and they are dropping said victim from miles above what future historians would call The Great Korok Sacrificial Volcano of Genocide.
Wait, you're talking about how all of your wood equipment burns almost immediately in that environment. That would pose quite the problem for a hypothetical Korok force. They would have to chug a ton of those fire resistance potions or apply a special type of varnish or lacquer on themselves perhaps.

Well, the ones you find there there don't seem bothered by it.
Some of these comets have been landing just out of range for me to get to them in time but seemingly close enough to give the illusion of being obtainable. I've had at least a couple moments of thinking "yes, almost there!" only for day to break juuuuust as I'm getting there and the thing to disappear. It's very devious!

The trick is that you don't actually have to run all the way there. In fact if you do that, you'll probably lose it. What you do is mark as best you can where the thing landed, then fast travel as close as you can to the mark. Then run. Everybody has the same assumption that fast traveling must make it disappear, and it shockingly doesn't.

I could see that working very well and that is solid advice.
But I play the game as if fast travel doesn't exist because I like to physically travel everywhere and pick up secrets, items, and fights along the way to wherever it is I'm going. I used fast travel a handful of times when I first started playing and then stopped because I felt like I was always missing too much and wanted to savor everything.
Also if you see one fall over water it might be best to ignore it. They'll stay suspended until you get close but then have a tiny tiny window when you near them.

Aye, without teleport then don't focus on collecting those until later.

As a pseudo-spoiler, DO NOT make the attempt to collect 'em all. The reward is not worth it y any metric other than sheer bragging rights.
