Ugh, Heroes vs Villains is full of afkers... what even is the point of "playing" if all you do is afk and ruin things for others... bleargh.
Also, why am I so terrible with the Emperor and everyone else so good with him.

Pretty much everything about Starfighter assaults kicks ass, though.
The new starfighter map is pretty awesome with those gravity well shockwaves.
Apparently I have 5 days to kill a pile of heroes and like 95 players using Assaults and Specialists if I want to get the Phasma crate.
... maybe. I think I might just let this one go, though. Between work and other hobbies, I just don't enjoy those classes or HvsV (as a source of consistent hero fighting) enough to put those hours away.
The Heavy was my initial hook, but honestly I'll go Officer like 90% of the time. I don't have to be awesome on my own, just around awesome people and play in a solid support fashion. Buffing health and dropping annoying sentries is not gonna get old for me anytime soon.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!

Its definitely the way to get the Hero milestones.
I played the 3 rounds of HvsV necessary to get the mini-objective yesterday, and yeah it was less of a shitshow than at release.
That one I'm fairly certain I can get if I put my mind and time to it, but if I'm going to do that I should do both for the full effect, and I just don't enjoy Assault/Specialist nearly as much as Officer/Heavy.

The Phasma crate is just showing up as "Secret Achievement" for me... what gives? Is that one for First Order allied people only?
Hmmm, I'm First Order which I regret as Phasma is kind of meh; her stun droid thingy is great for group play but everything else seems pretty mediocre. I didn't see an secret achievement, but my quests yesterday were to do 3 HvV, kill 50 Heroes, and finish 6 season quests.
Edit: Ah, yeah after some matches I'm seeing a "hidden" achievement but the description is the same as Phasma's but for Finn.
Playing this on the ps4 pro on my 4k tv (with hdr on) and I'm running into an issue where every 15 to 20 minutes my tv goes black (like it's lost signal) for about 15 seconds. It's not happened on any other game yet. Has anyone run into that?

Literally never heard of that. Tried a different game with HDR on to ensure it's not display related?
Literally never heard of that. Tried a different game with HDR on to ensure it's not display related?
Yeah I've not had it happen on anything else. I did a factory reset so hopefully it helps. People mentioned it on the Samsung forums.
I play on PC and haven't seen anything like that. I did google it, but there doesn't seem to have any consensus on what is causing it or how to fix it (though this is a general sense rather than with a specific game). I'm sure you've checked around a bit already but I've seen things like replacing the HDMI cable (with a newer version), waiting for TV firmware, tinkering with various tv/ps4 settings, and not using PS4 sleep mode. Good luck.
Any chance it was just a display error? I mean, that does look pretty cut and dry, but it wouldn't be the first time they showed one number and it was actually another.

Misc. bug fixing
As a heavy main, I'm kinda bummed. Guess I'll have to try it out tonight and see how it runs. Wonder if they've fixed the slow walk after sentry gun bug.

Mine does this at least once a day in a variety of apps. I haven't tried a new HDMI cable though, I'm just using the one that came with the PS4 on a Samsung.
Wow, Supercharged Sentry got hit really hard with the nerf bat. On top of the reduction in aoe damage, it also only lasts for about 3 seconds now. It's less effective than the base Sentry skill.
On the other side, the Blurrg is still a rifle-accurate, hand-held turbolaser.
I have mixed feelings about sentry nerfs. It was hella fun to play in the right circumstances.
But on the flip side, it probably shouldn't have been so easy to kill people around corners like that.
The duration nerf makes it basically useless. Explosive Sentry will have to be a substitute; it's nearly as good against infantry and objectives, but is very tough to aim against flying vehicles.
Sounds like they went too far, but they really needed to do something. I was fine with Explosive Sentry killing around corners and being ridiculous, because it anchors you and it is a lot harder to aim. Supercharged Sentry's mobility and sheer power was just so much better than everything else. It had been the only really obvious for heavy upgrades. And it was one of the star cards that upgrading felt almost like cheating. With the reduced cooldowns as you leveled the card, it felt like just two heavies could keep a supercharged lockdown on a hallway up indefinitely if they timed it right. Was OP on defense.

Agreed. I think the AoE reduction by itself would have been enough, though.
As for Explosive, turns out you can turn all the Sentries into a pinpoint laserhose if you crouch while activating it. Makes it way easier to aim at short-medium range (still have to account for dropoff).
I think they were in a difficult spot, conceptually. Supercharged Sentry is just Sentry+, it needs some negative to make regular sentry (i.e. bypassing Supercharge/Explosive) a viable game option. But if you remove the blast radius that it shared with Explosive, it's just a better sentry in which case.....idk, was there a basic improved sentry card too? Havent been in game for a while now.
I will miss poping Supercharged and feeling like Arnold's T2 terminator. It makes me really happy, Fartacus, that you found kneeling improves Explosive. I always felt Explosive sentry was like a one-man mortar firing team. Kneeling to improve it helps sell that in my mind

There is no improved sentry. Regular Sentry is basically trading mobility for a brief period of no-heat rapid fire, compared with just firing your primary. And it doesn't really even stack up to that if you're using, say, the Clone rifle with the explosive mod (in which case regular Sentry is, at best, a wash).
The kneel trick does help a bit, though. It's like the game snapshots your spread reduction bonus from kneeling when you hit the skill key, so you can proceed to move around and such while keeping it for the duration of the power. Also note that you can essentially avoid the additional movement penalty with Explosive by spamming the left button instead of holding it down.

@soylenth I finally resolved it. Go into your PS4 settings and set the display resolution to the 4K resolution (not the RGB one) instead of Auto. For whatever reason Auto will swap between RGB and the other one (sorry I don't remember the name) and it causes the display to disappear for a minute.

The reason it does this is because the system/HDMI cable is unable to transfer the amount of data required for RGB 4K gaming fast enough.
So the PS4 will go RGB for non-4k games, blu-rays, other apps, general time on the dashboard etc. And then swap to a different color mode for 4k games.
It shouldn't be happening in the middle of gameplay like it was for you, though.

Yeah I changed the HDMI cable to a brand new 2.0 one and it happened almost immediately when I launched South Park. So I started Googling and someone mentioned it and it seems to have resolved it so far.
We're working on a revamped progression system. Your feedback has been essential here, and we are preparing significant changes to progression that will address many of the things we've seen players asking for. We'll be sharing more details about these changes in March.
this would be funny if it wasn't so sad. "hey guys, we finally realized that the game has been fucked since we launched 2 months ago. but good news, come back in 2 more months and we'll have a plan to fix it then. we super promise you guys"
I touched up the thread a bit after the announcement that EA is redoing the progression system in March. This actually prompted me to secure a copy myself within 10 minutes from Amazon.
This news made my day, as I really wanted to play BF2 but hated the progression and loot crates.

For me it's too little too late. It's not that I'm bored with the game or that it's bad, in fact I actually really like the game, I just have other stuff to play right now. For AAA games Monster Hunter and DBZF just came out, for indies we have Celeste and Subnautica... and that's not touching the ever-looming power and vice-grip from Blizzard on my brain for multiplayer games.

I think you have to play a round first, if you are already past the new cap, in order for them to unlock.
Mine does this at least once a day in a variety of apps. I haven't tried a new HDMI cable though, I'm just using the one that came with the PS4 on a Samsung.
On the other side, the Blurrg is still a rifle-accurate, hand-held turbolaser.
But on the flip side, it probably shouldn't have been so easy to kill people around corners like that.

The duration nerf makes it basically useless. Explosive Sentry will have to be a substitute; it's nearly as good against infantry and objectives, but is very tough to aim against flying vehicles.

Agreed. I think the AoE reduction by itself would have been enough, though.
As for Explosive, turns out you can turn all the Sentries into a pinpoint laserhose if you crouch while activating it. Makes it way easier to aim at short-medium range (still have to account for dropoff).

This news made my day, as I really wanted to play BF2 but hated the progression and loot crates.
