I do have to say I'll probably work on Lando as my hero of choice. He's like a point capper/defender supreme. Dude has smoke, aoe shot, and a disabling grenade he's a fucking beast.
And he's cooler than the other side of the pillow.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

I love playing as the little droids. They run so funny.
Tried out the heavy as that's a timed challenge for this week, first map was maz's castle which I've never as a first order got beyond the first objective. Swear to god its impossible. Second map was a lot better Kashyyk as the droids, made those clone troopers pay!
Maz's castle is the Skirmish map, right? It's definitely easier on defense, and a resistance team with just a handful of people actually working together should have a big advantage, but I saw the First Order win that one at least half a dozen times during the beta. I actually delivered the package on one of those, and my son totally lost his shit because even he could tell that the First Order has a hard time on that one.
I have only played it in galactic war. But it starts in the forest and the first objective is to take a hill and woe be to everyone trying to fucking do that. I think the biggest problem I've seen is that first order tends to sit back and snipe and the resistance positions are way better about that, so anyone trying to push just gets annihilated.

If you are gonna main Lando as your hero of choice, be very wary of Bossk. He has heat vision to see through the smoke, a long range OHK gun, and can lob endless grenades into whatever you are trying to defend.
Campaign has been reportedly 5-8 hours long for a month or so now. I would guess 6 hours if you stroll through it and explore like I do, and half that if you just try to blitz it.
Hard pass on this one, as pretty as it looks I am not rewarding EA for shady behaviour, maybe if they do even more drastic changes to the progression system.
I only played the first two missions, and that took an hour and a half. Looks like there's between 10 and 13 missions in the campaign, so there's no way I'm close to half-way there. I could see 4 hours if you're playing on easy and rushing through it, but the standard 6-7 hour campaign is looking pretty likely here.

Yeah no way could it be 4 hours based on what I played in the trial. My time was similar to yours skull.
Weird that IGN is reporting how short the campaign is considering they usually inflate how long it takes to finish a game, the check must not have cleared from EA.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
yes we know the single player mode has caps on credits to stop people from exploiting it to gain an advantage in multi.
I'm sorry, I didn't realize you spoke for the entirety of this forum. My apologies for sharing information. Next time I post I will be sure to run it by you first.

I would rather people could do that than what we have now where people can just spend money to gain an advantage in multi.
I wouldn't. Because like the division had exploits that let people super gear up and it fucked the multi over worse than any f2p element in my opinion.
Like I get that people don't like the f2p elements, but exploiting credits is also bad and would only ruin what community there will be.

I think it had more to do with that exact clip already being posted earlier today, and already discussed a bit...
So what's everyone's favorite map so far? I'm liking Hoth the most for both sides, also naboo and kashyyk because I get to be a robot, though naboo's throne room finish can be a real bitch on offense.
Least favorite is probably maz's castle map if only because again when I've played first order I've never gotten past the first part.

A drinking bird over the respawn key and a mechanical motor moving your mouse will generate the same amount of credits playing multi, barring challenges.
Like it seems like of they are concerned about anyone making meaningful progress outside of paying money, they would have thought of this

I don't believe this is true? Like if you are afking your teams probably aren't winning so your credit gains would be kind of shit.

Well it clearly favors people with money so the 'exploit' notion is out the window. There is no reason for players to have a 24 hour cap on earning credits for playing hours and hours of the game when someone else can come buy that stuff up in two seconds. This design has absolutely nothing to do with game design 'balance' or there would be cooldowns on purchasing loot crates or crystals.
That is just my opinion though, I can't stomach a mechanic that arbitrarily limits my play sessions or worse tells me 'come back tomorrow.'

AFAIK, credit gains are minimal based on how well you're kicking ass or not. Like the difference between winning and losing a match is like 50-75 credits if I recall.
Edit - This was during beta, not the full game that's out now.
Better players will always have heroes and more credits FOR those heroes while average players will just get dumped on all the time. However, if you give everyone credits based on time-played it becomes an AFK sessions.
Tough spot to be in when you put the progression behind RNG though.
I have played various terrible Star Wars games for a looong Time now. I have never really gotten on board with the off main story characters because I never really connect with them. However after only 3 missions I am liking what I see in the campaign. It’s definitely got some collectibles I’ve missed already but it provides a good immersive environment for me. I have especially liked the transitions between footwork and flying.
Even down to the emotion when the emperor dies is done well.

I finished the campaign this morning, and the immersiveness is maintained throughout. It could've been 3x as long and not worn out its welcome. It's damn pretty, too.
Of course, the first thing I did afterwards is unlock Iden, go into an Arcade match, and discover that MP Iden doesn't have the scanner or grenade that was so useful in SP.

I liked her kit when I played her in multi. That rifle with the alt fire grenade surprises people.

Hah, I thought it was done well too. Though it was kind of abrupt. I figured the end of the mission would be when the Death Star blows up. Then it was just like "Oop.. we doin this now? Ok!" and I came down on those rebel scums like a fiery aspect of justice.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
I haven't played beyond what the trial would let you, but I was surprised how good the story was so far. Like I was worried when it was going to be an imperial story we were going to get some serious edgelord alert, but Iden makes sense as a character, again as far as what I've seen which is up to the fondor ship yards stuff.
Also turns out blowing up correlian corvettes is fun, I now support the space nazis.

I liked how it took that and when you escape that’s usually the end of a level but NOPE! Now time to fly which I really liked. The one thing I have really liked about both these battlefronts has been the Star Wars experience.

Yeah the battles and the story don't feel generic to me, they feel specific to the star wars experience.

Every bit of audio is super authentic to the IP too! It's like Star Wars ear sex.
Oh my god. I mean its super easy since star wars sounds have been in like every game going back to the fucking nintendo era. But hearing the stomp of AT AT's and the high pitched pew pew of their blasters is like all my feels.

The design of the game is gorgeous. There is an insane amount of love that went into this detail. No doubt they have a crazy 'canon' team and the process to approve content must be absolutely fierce.
Just like BF1 this is VERY Star Wars. Starfighter Assault is also almost worth the 60 dollar entry by itself if only because we're so starved of Star Wars space combat but more because it is very well done. It's simplistic but feels great.

I only play the 40 man battle, its so I can pad my numbers/ego.

Galactic Assault is just so much fun. Different objectives per phase, vehicles, heroes, 20v20. Everything I want out of a PvP experience.
Xbox Live / Steam
Yeah I like the scale of it. Especially coming off D2 which has 4 v 4 which I enjoyed too! But this is just like "FUCK YOU CHAOS!!!!"
Like last night on Tattooine we had a mad scramble in overtime versus an imperial team with vader and like at st's. Thank god Yoda was playing to win

You can't give someone a pirate ship in one game, and then take it back in the next game. It's rude.
I am disappointed in the length but I am also not surprised at all.
(EDIT IGN is reporting it was about 4 hours, other articles mention 5 to 7/8.. this verge article says 8
