Kashyyyk is visually amazing especially night time, but actual play there just is one sloggy section followed up with a sprint, and most people just farm up points killing npc ships up above and then hero spam.
Hoth is better, but it still has sloggy parts, but at least you can actually see enemies a lot better than Kashyyyk.
Tattooine, death star 2, Yavin hell even Jakku are more fun to me.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
I like Hoth because there's the ever present challenge of actually taking down a single AT-AT.
But yeah, Kashyyyk is visually amazing but a poorly designed map.
Well poorly designed for defenders, attacking side just gets to wreck for the whole map. And its one of the worst one for farming fighters do to all the npc space ships there. Like I've seen scores in the 30k range there regularly because of that, so then you have members of your team doing nothing but getting high scores in the air battle gaining you fucking nothing.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Good lord, what happened...? Haven't played in a couple weeks, so I thought I'd sit down and get my Star Wars on tonight. This game has turned into a laggy/buggy shitshow. Just played some Strike on Endor and, while a bit laggy, it was fine overall. Then it switched to Takodana and my team, the enemy team, and I were all invisible. Guns were incapable of causing damage, but explosives were. It was terrible...
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
I did it over the weekend to win a match, but I didn't think to hit the save button. I didn't even know you could until the AT-AT had a "tow cable" indicator on it. And it took a couple deaths to get it. I'll try and do it again and save the evidence so you don't have to take my word for it.
Okay, I know it's a petty complaint--but it's 2017, we've got the best looking, in terms of graphical fidelity and modeling, Star Wars game ever made...and the tow cables still look like shit, like they did in Rogue Squadron on the N64. I guess it's not possible to do otherwise....

It's not so bad in modes with a lot of players - I usually see somewhere from 0-2 people doing it. But the other night in Heroes vs Villains the villain team had a single live player and 3 idlers. It was pretty awful.

Last night in Galactic Assault on Naboo I saw someone pull off a 53 kill streak. They were using the Emperor and just mauling defenders who stepped out of the east room with the door controls that have to be defended. As soon as someone poked out chain lightning would fry them and anyone in the room who was close enough for it to chain. Meanwhile he's just bouncing around and cackling away since that's what the Emperor does and holy shit was it frustrating.
HvV is just broken due to AFKers right now. Game after game last night. Sadface.
I've no problems fighting most heroes as a trooper, but if I see a green saber I know I am fucked. Yoda is incredibly difficult to attack and even with distance he bounces around so damn much lol. One of the reasons I like Kamino rainy stage is you can see the saber light reflect off everything, it's pretty cool.

His one weakness is that he literally has zero block. So if you can get laser fire on him, he dies fast. But I think people are starting to get a handle on how to use Palpatine because last night I saw him used to great effect for the first time ever. Also on Naboo. He was on my team so it wasn't a frustrating experience like you had.
So I follow Palpatine up the stairs to the throne room and suddenly he just jumps straight into the room full of enemies. I thought it was dumb at the time. I've seen many palpatines instantly die doing stuff like that. But then midair he pops his Dark Aura and holy shit he must have had a card that upgraded that ability or something, because the radius of it was basically the entire room. Clouds and storm and darkness like everywhere in front of me. I stood there for a second in awe and by the time I ran up to help clear out any enemies, there were no enemies. It was terrifyingly awesome.

I'm guessing that the matchmaking/placement seems to lock off at a certain point in a game? My crew was getting frustrated being down like 2-3 people even fairly early on in some games, but yeah, seeing people with 0 points at the end of a game is certainly obnoxious.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
Hero vs Hero automatically spawns you in if you don't pick one yourself, so yes, people are able to do that and just walk away. After all, credit gain is barely affected by performance, and with the barrier to getting items via credits so high, it's not shocking at all that players are exploiting and leeching.
Wait there's a Hoth AT-AT map? Is this a specific mode/platform exclusive or something? I don't think I've actually played that map.
Edit: Dang I think I just really have never seen it after like 60 hours of play time... that's just silly.
Do you play Galactic Assault? Its possible to have never seen it due to the way the servers work with their static map rotation:
It looks like Hoth is the first map on the rotation, so you've just gotta stay after Naboo and its likely you'll get Hoth. Team balancing could also prevent you from seeing Hoth since you can get moved to a different server if the game decides it can't balance the team, but that happens much less often from what I've seen.
I generally never quit out of games, which means I stay on the same server for a long time and it keeps my map variety pretty good. I think I've seen each of the maps probably an equal amount of time.
Kinda funny I played a crapload of this over the holidays and I never got endor or kasyyyk for galactic war. Only have played hoth a couple times although it seems like a really fun map.

I really like the BF1 version better because it is more cinematic to see.
<snip>
Yeah, BF1 did the snowspeeder tow-cable thing right.
I DID NOT like that the Rebels could basically screw around for the entire match, do close to zero damage to the Walker, get free air superiority, and then take down a Walker at full health. I like that it has to be weakened in this game before that works.
Gawd, Obi. That's why even as Imperial on those fights I always had Ion torpedo and ion blasts cards. I would spend the last third of any Imperial Hoth map taking out the ships.

I was overly paranoid about speeders in Walker Assault. I lost a map one time with both our walkers at full health. Hell, I won a map one time as a speeder on Tatooine by taking out both Walkers myself when they were at basically full health. It was too game warping, so like once the second phase was half over, if I was Imperial, my entire life became about ensuring speeders couldn't tow the AT-AT.
My main plan was to always pick up a fighter preferably towards the end of the second phase and clear out the rebel fighters right as it was ending so they couldn't spawn in anymore X/A-Wings. Then I would immediately destroy any speeder that spawned in. Speeders didn't stand a chance against a proper fighter.
If that didn't work, I had a back-up plan. I would spend the rest of the match power-up hunting for an anti-vehicle turret or stationary turret. I killed dudes of course, but specifically searched for power-ups in order to get one of those items and then never used it until the Y-wings started coming in. Each map had a specific spot I knew I could set up the AV or stationary turret and ensure the speeders couldn't complete a tow.
Alright so I kind of miss changing my characters face and some of the cosmetic options for stormtroopers.
Also, there's no map selection? Like, I haven't played any of the Clone Wars maps yet. There needs to be a menu that lets you pick your era for rotation or just do a quick match that throws you in whatever.

Apparently trooper customization is in the game files, so maybe its coming?
I'm just now getting to play this after coming back from a trip so I got all these Hot Takezz
A trend I'm starting to notice in Galatic Conquest is the first phase getting blown past pretty easily, then having the second phase bog down until the last objective sends the game into an almost perpetual overtime. With both teams now focusing on just one thing there's a continuous stream of bodies through the door so it can go on for 10 or so more minutes until you either clear the zone enough for the over time bar to empty or you get enough people in to take it. If you take you only get 30 reinforcements so you pretty much get eviscerated on the final phase. I'm not sure if it's a bad thing or not but it can make that middle of the fight really feel like a slog.
I had a naboo overtime on the last point last like five minutes. It was fucking glorious. Especially since the seperatists faction slowly ground the republic into dust to secure the win.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

but it was super easy to shoot down the speeders?
the tow cable only actually worked like once every 8-10 matches because it only required one or two competent imperials to stop it

Actually getting those on your team who also cared to stop the speeders was rare, though, which is why it felt like I was forced to either focus on it or watch the rebels tow cable both my walkers.

For Specialist you're gonna definitely wanna do Galactic Assault.
The Heavy might also do better with Galactic Assault purely for the target saturation.
Officer and Assault might actually be better suited to grind in Blast and Strike, though.
