lol. opened the rest of my chests and the legendary skins i got were another pajamathur, demonic auriel (one of the worst skins in the entire game), and ghost illidan, a hero i can't play.

bleh. i don't really care because i have most everything i want, but man that sure was some loot box ass loot box shit.

edit: also i got like 7 variants of shadowpaw li li, which is neat i guess but pretty dress li li :3

Ergh... I want to play with friends, but I went 0-5 in my PA group games for the event. And then immediately won when I soloqueue'd, even when my team didn't play particularly well. Even accounting for the stacks having a new player or two, it was pretty rough.

I'm think my soloq winrate is like 20% higher than my group winrate, and that's depressing.

To be honest I'm seriously considering using one of my RAF smurfs to group w/ PA people. It's impossible to find a good game with such disparate MMRs on the team. So if you have someone at 3000 and another at 1500, what usually ends up happening is that the other team gets a full group with everyone at the average of 2250. It's much harder to carry in those games because they will be good enough to beat your low-MMR players but also not bad enough to do stuff that will let you do things like gank them over and over again (e.g., staying grouped, not venturing out too far in lanes).

It's not fun for the high-MMR player because they can't help their friends by killing the other team, and they also can't help their friends from not dying to the other team beyond really patronizing-sounding things like "don't go there" or "stay with me".

Yeah, I mean the problem is that the smurf accounts climb through the MMR ranks so quickly, its no time at all before you can't even use them any more to play with others. I've had like 3 different smurf accounts wind up in the 3k range, alongside my primary account, and one that even climbed up over 4k for a time. New accounts are fun and all, but you go like 20-30 matches in a row with no losses and you very quickly find yourself up against grandmasters again. And then the whole account is useless for the purpose you intended for it.

Counter to my gul'dan impressions, Cassia seems fun. I really like the Q build. I wish her W was on a bit of a shorter cooldown since I always want it to be up again to counter abilities with about 2 seconds left on it, but generally I like her a lot.

I got her to level 3, and it gave me an epic chest that had space lord leoric in it, so I like her on that front as well, heh.

Doesn't help that my 2nd game was into a Cho'gall with no supports, no cc, and a bunch of mages on our team so we got utterly obliterated as cho'gall does.

Gul'dan is an AA assassin disguised as a mage. The key is stutterstepping with his Q. I think when you really nail that he feels really awesome.

i know, he still feels bad. his abilities don't feel good to press imo. he's strong but i just don't enjoy playing him.

also hots 2.0 seems pretty unstable. i've had a hard lock and 2 crashes tonight. i've not had hots crash in maybe years before this.

edit: additionally, i hope they let us squish items into shards at some point. like i appreciated the shadowpaw li li skin, but i probably don't need 5 variants of it. and i'm never going to use these two pajamathur skins or demon auriel, or even these zeratul skins. hell i'd even take half normal duplicate value, it's still something.

Tonight my mission was ok go random whom ever it picks you play all night to level him up, so I was given Leoric which was awesome cause I have a legendary skin for him.

Anyways I got solo lanes matched up with a Genji I was 100% useless. My live drain and ult were totally useless against his jump and dash moves.

Genji's slippery, but he's made of glass and, so long as you aren't pouring damage into his deflection, he isn't much of a threat outside of his ultimate. Try heroes like Nazeebo, Lunara and Sylvanas; their damage is spread out over time, so you generally aren't in danger of blowing yourself up by feeding deflection, and they can spread their damage around to him pretty easily. In addition, Nazeebo has Superstition at 13, which is hugely beneficial because Genji's damage is almost entirely ability-focused. I actually feel like Genji's massively underpowered, and the data reflects this; he's currently sitting on a 44.9% win ratio, which is bottom 7.

So far Genji doesn't feel oppressive at all, compared to Valeera he's a light breeze. If he jumps into your team and deflects, any stun will immediately end his protected status and his health pool is tiny. He's an assassin you can actually counter/kill so he's fine.

It's a (generally) worse version of Mercenary Lord that only increases the damage your mercs do but doesn't decrease your damage taken from them.

I wonder if it increases the turret damage when you place it.

Got the Deadly Demon Hunter skin for Valeera, so that's pretty rad. Nothing else of note, though, which is kinda lame.

The real question is why Muradin is always in the basement in terms of winrate. As Srey rightly points out, he's one of the best tanks right now, and despite being of average popularity (pick/ban), he's still got a pretty low winrate.

Genji dies a bit better than Valeera (who is a good chunk more tolerable with Cold Blooded gone [Thank fucking Christ]), but I think he's a similar issue in QM to her. Yes, his winrate is lower basically because he doesn't have two forms of unrevealable, but he'll still wreck havoc on teams that lack a stun of any sort. Even then, some heroes who have them have too little else in their kit (Kael strikes as a good example - he's going to help his team if he can land lapse, but if not he's going to die).
If anything, the reason Genji is in the space he's in is because he was released alongside neo-Uther who is just as ubiquitous as Genji is.

His mobility is also just kinda nuts. Like I was in the middle of Towers of Doom midlane, he dashed from off-screen behind his gate, past me, did his trait jump, and then was contesting the altar on our side in about a second and a half.

Right now there's only 2 heroes in the game that when I see them I just think bleh fuck this.

Valeera, if she's on the enemy team.

Genji, if he's on my team.

I can deal with Valerian even tho, as previously mentioned, protection is garbo.

I don't think Genji is overpowered, but he's not fun to play against. Too many heroes that break the rules on mobility is frustrating.

Haven't played this game in about a year and am jumping back in with the 2.0 release. What's the best Mega Bundle to pick up? Open to any playstyle and I own 2 - 3 heroes from each set so that didn't help narrow things down.

I don't know, I enjoy fighting genji. Doesn't seem like many people know how to use him well enough to be oppressive and he's pretty easy to send him packing back to base even if you don't secure the kill.

Just pretty much anticipate the use of his reflect.

I'm sure there are some great ones out there, I just haven't run into them.

    Any good tips for Xul?

i think I like his kit but i feel like I have some trouble using it effectively.

This is the build I used the last few games.

I figure i might want to increase sustain in teamfights with Harvest Vitality and make Bone Prison deadlier with Amplify Damage.

I feel like i need to have a stronger teamfight presence which is why i don't take the skeleton-centric talents. That's more playstyle, though, because I know I get tunnel vision too often, causing me to miss teamfights when i'm pushing/laning

Is this a good build for him?

You can plug in which heroes you have into an online tool to see which is the absolute best value gold-wise. But honestly since you are getting 17+ heroes for each one, I wouldn't worry about that, they are all good values. Pick whichever one has the most heroes you want to play.

I went with the specialist and support bundle because quite a few of them are interesting to me and the entire bundle were heroes I didn't have, so that's pretty awesome.

I'm considering giving it alot more play time now that I have more heroes to choose from. This is the only MOBA I've liked so far, whatever that says about me lol.

I think skeletons are still the primary build, but corpse explosion or whatever it is called was nerfed a while ago.

I find xul's team fight presence is fine even with skeleton builds. Bone prison still let's you get picks and both ults can change fights dramatically.

Backlash at level 1 is what makes Xul such a powerhouse, to be honest. People don't expect it. But you can pop Bone Armor, wade into tanks, and absolutely chunk them,

I typically build for full skeleton mastery, but I can go over the finer points with you soon. I play a ton of Xul. Just in the middle of some matches right now. I'll come back in a bit.

In my experience, you really need Rathma/Traghoul to help your lane presence, as Xul makes himself very vulnerable/punishable when your sitting in one place using Cursed Strikes on a minion wave. Having Harvest Vitality won't really help you that much in that regard. The only change I'd make to your build is perhaps taking Backlash at 1, as chunking a tank/frontline for 15% of their hp during a teamfight is very impactful. I also usually take Decrepify at 13, though I never really notice a huge difference with the 13/16 talents tbh. Amplify is really good with mages such as Jaina/LM/Chromie.

Practice makes perfect. A good trick is to know when to Molten Core into enemy forts.

Appropriate placement of molten cores is important too.

For example if your team is retreating and you think it's a good idea to try and raid boss to create some separation. Activating it between your fort and the enemy team is a bad idea. Even assuming you don't get stunned out of it if they push and deplete the health of the boss mode you'll get popped out in the middle of their team. This is also relevant on offense. Maybe that push wasn't a good idea even with you being gigantic and now since you didn't position correctly they get a free takedown.

All that being said I think managing your abilities to complete the Q quest is very important to learn. Along with appropriate Email usage. You can cast it on anything even minions.
