What's the right application of the Ragnaros special (how do you get at that Rag D)?
I can't quite figure out at what point people are too far out of range and I'm not really accomplishing much. I have almost completely been ignoring the Ragnaros D.

The range is huge, it's multiple screens. You can cover every objective on Sky Temple, Warhead Junction, Braxis Holdout, Cursed Hollow, Infernal Shrines, and more by using his trait. The other thing that's really great about his trait, if you take over a fort that's already been destroyed on say, Cursed Hollow or vs. any boss or anything, it'll stop there and fight you instead of moving on to your still standing keep.

At lower levels it can simply be used to keep objectives (i.e. Dragon Knight, Webweavers, Bosses, Punishers, Immortals) from doing too much dmg to buildings, or at least to contest them if they're still up. If your team is coordinated enough the stun you get on your q can be used to wipe enemy teams who decide to fight near buildings (allied or enemy's, destroyed or otherwise).
Had my first good game with Johanna. Lt Morales was stuck to me and I was against a bunch of melee type characters. I was controlling the game a while, but we still lost because my team didn't know how to play their characters(at least 2 of them).
Feels really nice being useful as a full blown tank. Though the number of times I've queued in quick match as Johanna, I've only had a single game like this, probably because I had a pocket healer.
The highlight of last night's QM games was watching @milk ducks Gorge the enemy Morales and deposit her behind our wall right next to three towers. I actually stopped what I was doing with Zagara and just followed him back to our towers to enjoy the hilarity.
I kinda wish I'd been streaming or something.
We should play more often, for sure. I have maybe 3-4 alt accounts I play for fun every now and then, or when a buddy of mine who just started playing wants to do a few games. I'm happy to get on any of them and play with you guys. If you see me in Heroes of the Wang, just ask.
Saw a really nasty combo the other day to take advantage in a weird quirk in the current mm. For some reason Aba is considered the same as the light support heroes like Medivh, Tyrande, and Tassadar. So someone had the bright idea to two person que as Genji and Medivh in the hopes of getting an Aba as an opponent. They can find and kill him with virtually no risk, especially on two lane maps. In the game I played our Abathur had to retreat all the way back to the main base even with the outer bases completely intact thus rendering him basically a non issue until 10 and by then the damage is done.

Nope. That's kinda the whole point. Best bet is by watching if one is acting differently than the other two, or if the healthbars seem to deplete at different rates.

Both of these are usually pretty reliable pretty quickly, so it's not usually all that bad.

3-4 in my placements now. My last two games were throws where we were actually doing alright and then people decided "Fuck it, this is a good fight" and wiped us and GG.
Ranked is no better than QM. It's just forcing me to not play characters I want because I'm in the wrong slot on character select, or because someone is still hellbent on playing something that doesn't fit into the team. It's worse because my HL MMR is lower than my QM MMR, so lots of people doing bad things and then flaming others for shit going sideways.

Also, you basically want to kill the clones ASAP anyway. They do too much damage if left alone.

Yes, they are definitely not at all like Nova clones. That instinctive response to ignore clones (learned from fighting Nova over the years) has messed me up a lot with Samuro
I almost made it to rank 10 on my Mauradin today. I seem to get MVP every other game I play with him.
I tend to play him the best out of all the heroes, though I tend to do more dps as Varian overall.
I bought the Warrior pack, I still find Maruadin to be the best tank to play, mainly because he has pretty nice DPS when speced right. Hes has a really nice slow, he can jump out of unfavorable odds, and he has a lot of stuns.

I wonder if people realize how hypocritical they are at all times during ranked. The same people will repeatedly shout "comps don't matter, just play characters you're good with" and 30 seconds later "we need X, can you play that character?"
Just fucking fuck right off already. I'm so tired of trying to cover other people for their dumb shit. I've played Malfurion 5 times in placement so far because nobody else will play supports, and as has been discussed repeatedly, you can't carry a bad team with a support. The other times someone wants to play support they aren't nearly as good with them as they claim. It's so lose-lose. =_=
Sorry, I just have to vent. It's infuriating and draining. =_=
Yea, when that sort of thing happens I try to force people down a double support hole with Kharazim and Li Li or Li Li and Auriel or Li Li and really any non-lucio/malf support.
Mostly I want to play Li Li because then we're going to win. Double support w/ Li Li is so strong right now.
If you're trying to avoid support altogether, just instantly show something that isn't a support. I find that works about 70% of the time.

Several people saw my HotW broadcast about calling out a fool and having your team support you being a great feeling yesterday.
That incident began in selection with a guy who seemed determined to lock Sonya or Illidan (which, with a Tassadar and Kharazim above him, isn't totally unreasonable) insisting that we needed CC for teamfights but clearly having no interest in taking it, presumably in response to my showing Artanis.
So I locked ETC and proceeded to have a pretty good game after I muted him about 2 minutes in for attempting to blame me for our Raynor overstaying his welcome into a counter-rotation. From the gist of everyone else's responses to whatever ensued, he seemed to believe that headfirst diving into the enemy team on Hanamura when I was having no trouble at all bouncing guys around to isolate targets was wise, and was unable to solo versus an Artanis, somehow.
We won on a payload delivery after a teamfight he started that I saved with a Stage Dive to set up Raynor for a double-kill on their Malf and Valla.
In short, if you want CC, pick CC. Don't play badly and demand that someone else cover you with it.
Is there a way to tell at a glance which Samuro is the real one?
If you have an ability to reveals enemy heroes (Nature's Perspective or Tracer Rounds for example), I believe they will show whether it's a clone or not (Red eye will appear on top, with clones being somewhat tannish in colour).
My hero league drafts have been pretty amazing. Lost of communication, everyone willing to pick around the map and enemy comp, pretty chill all around. I must be getting mad lucky.

I finished 3-7 at Platinum 4, the lowest I've ever been in Hero League. How fun.
My final game I was first pick and just locked in Falstad on Sky Temple, not caring what else ensued. It's a good pick, I can play him well. The rest is on you asshats.
We lost thoroughly. Our Nazeebo was braindead and our Artanis wanted to play the game like we were a level up instead of 3 levels down. I had the most hero and siege damage in game, with our only secured kills. There's not much more I can do than that, and it's shit that I get penalized because I'm not somehow even better at the game to overcome these people.
Keep playing and you'll win more than you lose and end up in gold. If you're silver you'll stay silver.

GFE just dropped Khroen and Equinox. Frankly, I'm not convinced those were the right moves. Their biggest need was a coach to add some sort of stability and consistency, not changing the players. It is very, very hard to find players of Khroen's and Equinox's caliber who are open to criticism, willing to adapt to the team needs, and rarely (if ever) toxic. Equinox wasn't the best tank, but he wasn't the one costing them games, either. And Khroen made some big mistakes, but with recent role stability (ranged DPS) and his aforementioned character traits I think he would've grown out of it.
From the outside looking in, I'd say Udall is the biggest problem. He constantly overestimates his capabilities and is the most inconsistent player in terms of getting caught and dying for no value, or playing heroes he has no business being on at the professional level. Based on SEL and scrim comms, he is also the one who I suspect is causing the most confusion in comms as well.
There's also the open question of who the hell do you pick up to replace Equinox and Khroen? Bkid was already on GFE and was dropped. The other players on Naventic aren't good enough to pick up. McIntyre is the only player who I think is worth picking up on Bstep, and he brings more role confusion as he is a flex as well.
This is really disappointing. You would think that GFE would learn something from the successes of Tempo Storm and Team8, and realize that role stability, strong team dynamics, and long-term cohesiveness are more important than constantly swapping players in and out to find the biggest group of All-Stars.
What I learn from the success of Team 8 is that Glaurung is redic. Sure he can only play like 4 heroes but you don't have enough bans before he can go, and then they just win.
His medivh still produces the most ludicrous shit.

I agree. Glau makes all the calls for his team. ALL of them. And they follow him to the letter. If someone has an idea, they bring it up, but he makes the final call, and there isn't a lot of chatter. He is a god shotcaller but his team is willing to listen, follow, and execute as best they can, even if they disagree. They deserve credit for doing so, and the fact that you can have a bunch of players who most consider "average pros" and have him lead them to the #2 spot is a testament to the strength of that approach.
Galeforce is my favorite team to follow because half the time, they end up drafting some insane, meta-breaking lineup that just happens to work. They might not be the best but they are always entertaining. Their main problem against Team8 was just not banning Glaurung's Mediev. He is just insane on that hero and the rest of his team is extremely coordinated with his mediev play. Ban it out and Glaurung can't carry his team to victory.
It guarantees a hero, but it's a floor of blue quality hero so chances are you're not getting anything recent. For example I got Li Li, Diablo, Li Li and then Li Li again.
And then my rare chest gave me Valeera. SeemsGood

I've opened 4 heroes from boxes and have never gotten a duplicate. Didn't even think that was possible.
I owned both. You're not guaranteed to get an unowned hero, the game will just give you shards if you already own it.
That's what I was getting at. I've opened up 4 heroes (after I bought a 20 hero pack) and had about 20 owned prior to that. Never gotten a duplicate. Didn't know it was possible, since I would be pretty bummed out getting a duplicate hero.
