Llllllladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages (and also anyone who identifies outside of the gender binary, I mean it's a classic intro but a little uninclusive, dang), SpaceX is launching a rocket in T minus 5 hours from now (7am Eastern, 4am Pacific, I think that's 11am UTC)
It is their INAUGURAL national security launch, lofting a satellite for the National Reconnaissance Office. Because it's a defense launch, lots of information is kept on the down-low, including the mass of the payload. Nonetheless, a great many things can be inferred from the fact that the Falcon 9 fist stage will be attempting a RETURN TO LAUNCH SITE landing at LZ-1, a mere mile away from where it launched.
We won't get any footage from the second stage, and there certainly won't be any public footage from inside the payload fairing, but all that means for us space fans is 100% uninterrupted footage of the first stage launch and landing attempt, awwww yiss. And in daylight, too! We're gonna have a good time, is what I'm saying.
