Gold is so much easier in ME:A, though, that I've defaulted to it when I'm not leveling a kit.
Which admittedly is fairly rare, because I'm always jumping around between classes and it takes forever to level one up now.
If I'm leveling classes I just throw on the Vanquisher and head into gold because yeah it's still that op if you're willing to use boosters

Ahahahahaha! Oh my gosh, I was totally right about Liam and the FIFA thing! He even gets the crew playing football. Called it! I swear I had no idea this cutscene was even in the game!
Int. scene; Ryder's brain:"I really hate you Liam, you are a nothing character! SAM, note it in my personal log." :P
Yeah I think we can safely file that under things that should be in by default at launch. Same for storage chests and face editors though at least they did eventually add the latter.
Scrap that dumb comm room and put some targets up there. Or alternatively leave it and scare the shit out of Addison when you call.
Like christ, I would have been fine with it being somewhere on the not-citadel because lord knows I'm going to be making 400 trips there for random stupid shit anyways I might as well be able to do something productive while I'm there that doesn't cause me to wast thousands of research points on a gun that handles like crap.

Finally! I'm caught up! And only ended up skimming the last thread.
It's been a rollercoaster of ups and downs. I finished the game a while back, so I doubt there's much ground breaking to add to the discussion had, but one moment I did want to share was actually because of comments here. I read about how if one of the colony leaders talks to you while wearing the N7 suit, he (fairly gently) brings up the topic of stolen valor, that you're wearing something you didn't actually earn. And that's fair.
As a Vangod for Andromeda, it also meant that I didn't really have a suit to use that appealed to me on stats. Luckily being a high risk/reward style that basically just meant I needed a shotgun and to Always Be Charging, it wasn't really a problem to just keep using the promotional armor for weight/exp or whatever it was.
For the final mission, however, I decided that it was time. Went and built a level appropriate N7 set, and for the first time in dozens of hours of gameplay, I was fully armed for war.
Now, I'd been doing pretty well up until then. Once I got the hang of the combat, nothing really slowed me down for long.
But properly equipped, I became death, destroyer of worlds.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
For Vanguard, I just mixed and matched; though I used the N7 Arms for the biotic boost. I think the 'stolen valor' only kicks in if you have the chest piece equipped.
Guns in off slots still function as stat sticks if you cram them full of like +melee or +tech damage shit when crafting it, right? Id though I read that somewhere.
Okay, is there any special bonus to doing this retarded special mission against the Kett on Aqua? Because holy shit this frustrating me. Easily double the score of the 2nd place player because no one aims for the goddamned weak points with a Go For the Eyes modifier. And people somehow are still getting mass-murdered by sync kills.

I just had a 40 minute match on that mission where we went to wave nine which what so I have no idea wtf is going on with that mission

Yup, that's the one. Goes to wave 10. No resupply, +200% damage to weakpoints, but -50% overall damage. So people have to be on point with headshots, especially in the later waves when double Ascendant is common. As well as paying attention so that a Fiend doesn't instantly kill them.
Yeaaah. I gave up after a few tries because I wasn't going to waste any more consumables on it when half my team dies thirty seconds into a wave because they get grabbed by fiends and ascendants.
Eh, 2 ascendants at the same time is pretty common on gold and the damage bonus from weak points means that you will kill them super fast. I was running some augs (bonus weak point damage and AR damage) on a gun focused character (Turian Soldier, but set for damage amp rather than bonus weak point damage) and i could kill ascendants in the space of a single turbocharge.
What made the mission hard was the sheer number of other mooks (and the berserker on wave 6, which we almost lost to)
41,471 points just from shooting things with a Cyclone X
Yeah it'd be fun with a PA group but as a pub? Just, no.
I also really wish they'd mention it goes to wave 10. If I'd known that I wouldn't have burned through consumables by wave 6 and I would have insisted on being host because trying to headshot things with lag is virtually impossible.
I have found great pub games, generally. I mean, I bounce builds and classes around a ton so I am generally not great and still had the majority of pub games be good.
Also, on SP, I wasn't really thinking through the armor crafting stuff (this game has too many systems!) and so I guess with an infiltrator sniper type that damage and more tech for cloak would be my focus. Does that make sense?
I personally just craft armor that looks cool and slap on mods that help with play style. The initiative spearpoint armor is my favorite.

I used my fancy preorder gear for the first act, switched to the angara uber-armor but disliked the tint, finished the game with N7 armor/upgraded version of the Pathfinder helmet that dad Ryder gave
Also, I saw some awesome cosplay stuff earlier, which reminded me that if anyone is interested in Andromeda Initiative challenge coins, I have some available.
Feel free to PM me so we don't clutter up the thread.
Edit: to be clear, there's just one coin type; these are both sides shown at once.

Pretty much. Only like JihadJesus said, head shots are pretty spotty off-host, or at least feels like they are.
Like when I do get headshots, it's usually against dudes that are point blank. Could just be that the hotbox for heads is a lot smaller than it used to be.

Even with the patch that supposedly fixes the fiend synch killing through walls I am still being murdered that way.
Unable to work on single player due to the scanner bug. Get past the 20 minutes of intro crap and am unable to activate the scanner to advance the mission. Helpful threads say to delete all saves, uninstall the game and some other calisthenics. They haven't said to just go play some other game because it will be less frustrating.
I hit a wall this weekend on SP that drove me nuts.
dude (Taavos) at top of Havarl that is supposed to lead you to the third monolith just stands there. Is there any way to just run to the right place without him or does he need to come along? I am not sure how to move the quest forward.

If I remember that one correctly, he doesn't lead you there from where you find him; he meets you at another location. Change it to your active quest (if it's not already) and check the map to see if there's a marker elsewhere.

If true, that stinks. Bioware has gone from my favorite studio to a hard pass in two game releases.

I'm not finding any confirmation outside of Kotaku, and EA said just yesterday that some studio that claimed that Bioware had cancelled the DLC they were working on is a completely hoax and that they don't have any announcements about DLC at this time. Cancellation of DLC and sequel plans may or may not still be coming... but I'd be more confident of that if EA or Bioware would come out with an explicit timeline for upcoming DLC as a contradiction of this rumor.
It's just really hard to believe they'd abandon what surely is still a really popular franchise...
Compared to most of the reprocessed shit on the market, Andromeda was actually pretty good. If Montreal bungled the execution that badly, then by all means, take them off the project, but just shutting the whole thing down is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Especially since they so obviously teased it at the end of the main story, so they had to be pretty dang confident what they were going to do from there.
Also it seems kind of odd because if it is like the previous ones most of at least one DLC should already basically be done which I assume would be the
quarian ark
given its mentioned more than a few times in the game. But who knows people seemed to go into andromeda really wanting to dislike it so maybe they are taking a break for now.
Canceling single player DLC after everything that's happened seems like a good way to further alienate their audience. It's possible that we won't see another ME game based in Andromeda, but they need to tie up loose ends in MEA in order for that kind of decision to be even remotely palatable.

It's going to have to do what a lot of franchises do, slumber until someone gets their act together.

They're less shitty now
Unless you're lagging
And then they're just frustrating but that's pretty much all the synch kills
Nothing like having an Ascendant double warp and start a synch kill on you all in less than a second
