I've considered using an all-ghost team in multiplayer by surprise. Something like Gengar, Mismagius, Sableye, Froslass, Shedinja, and Rotom. People always carry ghost counters but I wonder how many people would be surprised by an all-ghost team.

I won't bother with it though. I'd rather use my usual team.

Yeah if it weren't for the fact that everyone on earth would have a flying type or something with a flying move that would systematically rape my team, I'd consider that team for multiplayer at some point.

Edit: Though, there are a few bug Pokes that can learn some decent Rock moves.

ive toyed with the idea of theme teams particularly against the elite four :P

I like Shedninja but he has no practical use in multiplayer.

Too many types are super effective against him, and hail/sandstorms are a one hit KO.

Okay I've been able to get away with being too low level so far by still beating all the gym leaders but hot damn I'm having trouble with just the wild pokémon here in Victory Road.

    I'm so getting owned here.

I equipped a smoke ball and ran from most of the battles in victory road. Because I'm lazy.

Odd question. I'm playing Diamond and took a Piplup as my pet. Is there a good fire type pokemon before the 2nd Gym? I can't find one for the life of me.

I am addicted all over again.

I bought this game to play in the limited spare time I have and I'm hooked. I miss my Ralts, however. Looking forward to trading when I can at the GTS, however.

Just grab yourself a Starly. My Staraptor took on the Ice and Electric gyms by itself.

Flying types are also effective against grass types.

For those of you who want to know the IVs of your Pokemon without giving them 99 rare candies or getting into a wifi battle, take a look at MetalKid's IV Calculator. You'll still need a bunch of rare candies but you'll be able to find a more accurate value with this calculator with less rare candies than other calculators.

Put in the stats of your level 1 Pokemon, then start giving it rare candies while recording the stats each time. I only have 11 rare candies right now but I was able to get a fairly accurate look at my new Chimecho's IVs.

Oh man, I cannot wait til the tourney. My Leafeon will take so many people by surprise due to his cutesy looks. You wouldn't think something as cute as Leafy would have 150 Attack and Defense, 125 Speed, and 170 HP.

And he gets Leaf Blade, which has become even more deadly than it was in the 3rd Gen.

My team is pretty much ready. Got all my Held Items and Movesets done. Just gotta level up Leafeon to level 71 to get Leaf Blade (won't take long, since I've had hm since Sunday and he's already at level 51) and get a TM from the Battle Tower for Misamagius.

cant you just take a level 1 mutant and put him into a level 50 or 100 battle? and check that way?

I can't have too many flying types. Right now I have Murkrow and Scyther. So many to choose between
Fire is going to be the hardest by far. You have Infernape which will be the most common, Rapidash will be fairly common as well. Then you have Arcanine and Magmortar, I'm leaning more to Arcanine at the moment
Still a fair way off before i get the national dex and can bring them over from the gba though so if anyone has some hiiiiii

I've had this game for 4 days now and I've put in 44 hours. It's mostly been pretty easy. The only battle I've lost so far was the Ghost gym, but oh shit I think I'm going to be beaten any minute now here in Victory Road.

I'm kind of.. I dunno.. afraid to go any further than this. I don't want to lose, dammit. It's freaking pokeymans! It's supposed to be damned easy!

Evolving it into an Infernape can almost guarantee you a victory in the steel gym.

Yeah but then you have to exchange codes with someone, get into a battle, record the stats of however many Pokemon you need to test while your opponent does nothing, fight the battle (or quit I suppose), and then enter the stats into a calculator.

    This way is faster.

I love my murkrow. Right now he's filling my flying and dark roles, when staravia was only doing the flying thing.
I've named him Snoop since he's such a pimp.
