The complete Witcher 3 is my favorite game of the past decade (maybe decade is a stretch. favorite game since it has come out at least) probably. Especially after coming back to it and playing through both of the expansion DLCs.
It's the best right now. Going to be a hard one to top.

Although summer sale is coming up. So maybe that'll get it a cut.

Edit 2: oh it's up for 50% off right now. At $25 that's a great deal and I kind of doubt it'll go lower.

It's very easy to put 200 hours into The Witcher 3.

It's also 100% worth the current price.

The season pass was on a very long curve in terms of sale price, so yeah, it'll probably be a long time before GOTY gets any cheaper than this. Having finally started the DLC a couple days ago, though, it's an excellent game worth every penny, even if the horse has catastrophic brain damage.

E: Oh, and my main game run took 120 hours. I think people have said the second and final DLC is like, up to 40 hours by itself.

IIRC, Luke force choking people was supposed to set up how Luke was in danger of falling to the Dark Side, as seen later in the film.

Access Denied isn't a very good puzzlebox game. It's crimes are bring obtuse to the point where an answer could be many things and you just need to go through them until it pings, and the developer seemingly being intentionally dickish
The last puzzle is a simple box with one button on it that doesn't do anything. You need to click on a random box corner to complete it. That's pretty much a summary of how this game made me feel

It's also very easy until you crash into two particular puzzles that require skills the game doesn't teach you (FYI magenta and yellow make red!)

All this talk of The Witcher 3 and my cloud save didn't sync before I went to work. Bugger :(

Huh, you just reminded me that I bought this game for DS on a whim many years ago. I played it for a few minutes, didn't feel like learning its mechanics at the time, and haven't touched it since. It seems to have a following, though! A slightly disappointed following, judging by some of the reviews.

You cant inventory gifts anymore. You must gift directly and if the person denies you get a refund.

You can hold on to a code by buying through humble store or something like that.

So some of you might already know, but Windward, the game that I basically got for a dollar just because it came with another game I really wanted, is actually pretty awesome. It's basically a sailing lite mmo/rpg. You pick a faction that specializes in different things like fighting, trading, etc. and sail around doing quests, buying items and selling them for profit, fighting pirates with other people, and then using the money to buy upgrades for your ship. It's laid out like a typical RPG where you equip a character, except instead of equipping a helm or a sword, you're equipping a new sail, or crew, or captain. It has also has a skill tree that you can put points into to improve things like your hull or speed. It's super chill and laid back. I found a server last night with around 80 people and we all just sailed around doing quests and trading loot for that sweet gold and xp. Very small community, but everyone was really friendly and helpful. I lost an hour to it last night and went to bed late because of this game. Excited to play some more.

Makes me wonder how many of these humble bundle games I have that I'd enjoy, but never tried just because I didn't know anything about them.

Yeah it's well worth the price if you can get it on sale for 50%+ off. A dollar is a steal. Tip: The first few ships are straight up available for purchase but after that you either have to defeat them in combat a random number of times or quest to unlock them. Once they're unlocked you can buy them in town(if it's high enough level to sell them). One of the buttons from the main menu is fast travel which can be super handy. Another is Instance. This brings up a window where you can choose a specific type of instance(combat, quest/trade, etc) to hop into. It's useful for finding specific items for those trade quests you get from notes or just for grinding out exp/loot and unlocking ships. The instances don't count towards capturing and building up territory but they will be level appropriate(so don't go too nuts cranking up the difficulty level unless that's your thing).

Finished up the Lord of the Hunt DLC in Shadow of Mordor. By the end I felt pretty comfortable with how to play the game again. I'm guessing it just uses your progress from the main game to determine how powerful Talion is? Because my skill tree was maxed out.

I know I said I was probably going to wait to play this game's DLC until Shadow of War came out, but eh. I'm going to be in the middle of moving or settling into a new place when it arrives, so I might as well do it all now.

So just finished up Hells Girls

@Madican dropped it on my during the great butt shenanigans of 2017 and surprisingly it was pretty fun.
not as lewd as I was led to believe it is a very much like bejeweled and the like except matching gems was fun as it pertained to combating enemies instead of just trying for a high score.
Aside from that though the game is fairly simple and pretty thin.
the writing is also god awful.

but overall it was a fun romp for just something easy and mind numbing to play to kill time.
    Thanks Madican

I think it just starts like that. I was missing a few skills in the main game and my Talion also had all skills in the DLC. Kinda sucks that it is a just a standalone thing and not integrated into the main campaign so none of the progress carries on.

Another of our cats has the big C. As much as that sucks, he's getting good care and I'm hopeful this time we can take care of the problem.
Which is of course expensive, so I've been trying to curb new purchases for now. A massive backlog of games is fairly handy for that. I don't think I'll run out of new stuff to play for quite some time (ever).
Which is how I ended up playing through Abzu last night. I liked it. I was not expecting it to be a game that would have me considering looking up a plot analysis. That game has some really beautiful sequences. Visuals are real pretty and complex, and the music is great, I will probably add some of that to my growing game music playlist. Austin Wintory is featuring on there a lot at this point.
But I kind of have no idea what happened. Full game spoilers:
I am not the biggest fan of sharks. So my calm fish hang out getting a jolt of shark action was a little rude. But then I'm following the shark for some reason, then the shark dies, then I'm best buds with the spirit shark and we save the ocean from the..I dunno techno junk.

Also have been playing a good amount of Stellaris. Our Federation has control of maybe 40% of the galaxy. It's getting a little bit dull now. I've maxxed out most things, and there's not a lot of change happening. Plus one of our federation members is a real dick. They just keep spamming they want to kick people out over and over again. It gets voted down every time, so they basically hate everyone for constantly rejecting their ideas. I'm not sure why they don't just leave. I feel determined to try and see at least one campaign all the way to the end. But it's tough when you're peaceful fun loving psychics waiting for someone else to start some shit with you so you can put those mega cannons to use.

Will have to see what else in the backlog should get pulled out. I've still never played through all of the new Doom, just the first couple levels. I know I should get back on that one. I also have barely touched Mass Effect Andromeda, but I'm a bit meh on the whole thing still. I think I need the right mood to strike for that.

Witcher 3 GotY edition for $25 was too tempting to pass up. Got the discounted preorder of Pyre while I was at it. Would have picked up CrossCode too but that game isn't leaving early access until early 2018 according to their website. Maybe I'll pick it up anyways if it's in the summer sale, which I still have $155 in Steam credit anxiously waiting.

The only problem is where to find the time to play these games. Disgaea on the Switch has currently embedded it's fangs and doesn't plan on releasing anytime soon.

Re: Tokyo 42. Watching a stream, it reminds me of the walking-around parts of GTA/Retro Rampage. The aiming system seems like it'd be more intuitive if you were playing rather than watching (the tactile-ness of actually playing/doing the aiming) ... There might be an 'invader' system, too? Saw the streamer get a "nemesis" immediately after they finished a mission.

(There was another game that it reminded me of... which was a top-down GTA-like but set in a cyberpunk setting. That one doesn't seem as polished as this one, though.)

First Chapter of rise of legends down, surprised we did not get a cutscene for the final twist.

    Final Mission of Silent Storm.

I'm afraid to check wikis, but in Alpha protocol, after you do those missions with the first three safehouses, are there more safehouses or is it home stretch time?
