As for no Monster Hunter on Switch, there's a theory online that it's the result of an odd moneyhat. MonHun is bigger in Japan than the west, and Nintendo is Sony's only competitor over there. Dunno if that's true, but considering Sony pretty much subsidized Street Fighter V, I can't rule it out.
Except XX switch is already announced for Japan. It's just possibly not coming over here.
Its not according to a Capcom twitter account. Theyre basically abandoning their portable base that they spent like 6 years building.
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
My sister needs that kickstand. She took it to play with my little niece and nephew and they loved it, but fought over it, and it fell/snapped off a few times, and now her kickstand is super loose and just flops open all the time.
that grip for the phone mount might be a near necessary accessory when the online service eventually launches..... assuming the app supports landscape orientation, which I'm not convinced of, because Nintendo.
I am intrigued by that case with the integrated battery - it looks pretty nice just as a case, and apparently has an integrated stand for the Switch, but the battery thing is like icing on the cake. I wonder how bulky it would be, though.
I'm also impressed with how the extended battery looks like a sleek extension of the console rather than a janky, bulky thing that was bolted on in haste.
Man I really want one of those SNES30 Pro controllers that 8bitdo premiered at E3. Scratch that I want the Super Famicon version of that with the colored buttons. Guess it's good I didn't buy one of their other models yet.
So I've heard that Odyssey will follow the closer-camera, tightly controlling style of 64 and Sunshine, rather than the farther-removed, larger-view-camera style of 3D World/Land, Galaxy, etc. As much as Galaxy is one of my top games of all time, and as much I adore 3D Land, I am really excited to hear this.
Also: seeing a little more actual footage of Mario+Rabbids kinda assuaged my fears that it'll be an oversimplified "find randomly placed weapons around the arena" game. Classes with skill trees, weapon unlocks/purchases, Overwatch from XCOM (maybe my favorite feature in any strategy game)... there's potential there. Can't believe some of these games are coming so soon.
Also also, to whomever was asking about the Hollow Knight release: we don't know yet. I would imagine in the next few months?
Edit: Per Google: "In a blog post on its site, Team Cherry explained that the Switch port is now feature complete, and that testing and optimization is all that’s left to do. The post also explained that the upcoming Hidden Dreams DLC, which launches in July, will be included for free with the Switch version. The new DLC will be adding in two new boss fights, two new music tracks to accompany them, a new upgrade, and a new Stag Station."
Remember when Odysseus entered his hall and threw a hat at the suitors?
Yeah I was totally picturing Mario getting back and having a tearful reunion with Baby Mario and they come up with a plan to have Mario eat an Old Mushroom to turn into Old Mario so nobody would recognize him, and they go up to the mansion to find Peach insisting that one of the Koopa Kids has to be able to accurately complete a fireball-throwing obstacle course, which nobody can do like Mario, and they all laugh at the old man who wants to try, and he does it immediately and they all gasp and he tosses a fire flower to Baby Mario too and they both slaughter everyone there.

Hyperbole, but no one can claim Nintendo doesn't iterate the same core franchises in an interesting way. It's the only console where you definitely ask, "What's the Mario this season?"
Yeah they should really make Zelda an open world game.
What do you mean by that anyway? You mean a Mario game is a Mario game? Well, duh. Gears of War is a Gears of War game and Halo 4 and Halo 3 feel the same too. That's not a bad thing, but is funny that Nintendo is the only company that gets flak for that.
Not saying they're right, but it IS a hell of a lot easier to give Nintendo that flak when they are the longest lived and most successful player in the game.
When is the cutoff in time for it to be a problem? Halo 1 came out in 2001. That's 16 years ago and each Halo game is essentially the same (again, not a bad thing... Though I didn't enjoy Halo 4). Is it protected from flak because Nintendo has been around longer? As soon as Nintendo goes away then it'll be okay to give them shit?
For the record: I don't really care. I just have a friend who makes fun of me for buying the Mario games because "they're all the same" and then nearly died at the footage of Assassin's Creed Origins.
Number of Halo games: like eight across 15 years?
Number of Mario games: more than 100 across 30 years?
Treehouse stream will be up again 1 EST. Pokken DX tourney at 1:30 EST, and the ARMS tourney at 6:30. There's been some speculation of maybe another big game announcement, but that seems unlikely. Probably going to just showcase more gameplay stuff of what has been announced yesterday.

Not sure if I should be delighted, puzzled or depressed that Retro had nothing to show at E3. My grand hope is that their efforts of late are allowing them the opportunity to make a new IP of some kind.

It really is nothing short of amazing that all of those games are at worst good and many of them absolutely great. And encompassing so much variety as well.

And that's not including the spinoffs, like Yoshi's line of games, Wario's line of games, or Donkey Kong's excellent line of games.
So for us Canadians.... Super Mario Odyssey is currently listed at $100 from online Canadian online retailers. I really hope that's an incorrect placeholder......

in a reply to a tweet, 8bitdo say's that those speakers work with Switch using Bluetooth. I have no idea how that would work but that's what they said:

I hope it's a placeholder too but honestly... I pre-ordered it anyway. I'm not fooling myself; even at $100, I was going to buy it. It's the #1 game that I'm looking forward to now that Zelda is finished; and it doesn't help that it's been my wife's #1 game since the original trailer back in March. Amazon.ca Prime has 20% E3 games right now too, so I can snag it now at ~$80 before tax. And then hopefully it is a placeholder and the Amazon guarantee will automatically give me the price drop.
Hey, there's an interesting thought. Anyone know what happens to percentage discounts when the price changes? I must imagine the discount amount gets reduced as well to 20% of the new price. Otherwise I'm going to make out like a bandit.
So, nintendo's sound design has been really on point lately. For example the full version of the song from the super mario odyssey trailer: https://youtu.be/5qgOeXbFQ9U
It's now stuck in my head like the arms theme.

To be fair, nobody is getting BG&E2. At least that's what I told myself after watching that trailer where they screwed up the game title at the end. I'm sure a video editor got fired for that one...right, right?!

I loved that trailer. I 've never played the original game though, maybe thats why.
I thought the trailer was visually impressive but I hated the characters. A lot. So unlikable. And I'm not a prude about cursing (just look at my post history) but the f-bombs felt REALLY out of place.

Do you think Super Mario Odyssey is going to draw anything from Homer's Odyssey?
Like.. I was thinking about the whole wedding framing device. That reminds me a lot of Odysseus and Penelope, right?
Yes. They've said that that's literally it's namesake.
A joy-con grip that has a battery for extended play, storage for game carts/micro sd cards, and a phone mount for use with the upcoming online app?
A fan cooler you can attach to the dock for added cooling, if your entertainment setup is cramped/enclosed
A metal kickstand replacement I think, that also has extra sd card storage? Can you actually hotswap micro sd cards if you have too many games?
I wonder which level will be the one where Mario sleeps with Circe.
And then with Calypso.
Well now you can do that by
