Oh noooo not requests for recommendations now I'm going to nerd out! >.< Don't judge me.
Mamamoo is a bit of a retro-styled quartet with really strong vocals. They tend a little brighter and poppier than I'm normally into, but their live performances really let their singing chops stand out. If anyone spends time in D&D chat I've been doing a big ol' research project about them as stealth gay icons which is kinda cool, but they're just nice to listen to besides that.
BlackPink is fuckin weird, like, Bollywood, house and rap with occasional forays into country music breaks? They're badass, their songs go weird places.
I don't actually really know anything about 4Minute except that the bass lines on these songs are just unf. Haven't heard much of their other stuff though.
I don't really like any other Nell songs I've heard, but I really like this song. It's really depressing! And not like, cheesy kdrama depressing, legit sad. They're more of a rock ballad kind of group. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=km4D0wkmaPM
And that's not even getting into the massive boy's groups like EXO, BTS, or Big Bang
Kana on
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
This might seem like it's coming out of left field but fuck it.
Why do people like The Eagles? They suck. Their music should be remembered as the soulless, corporate cashout rock that it is, and yet!
People will still try and come at you with, "Yeah but Joe Walsh is really good at the guitar!" I don't give a fuck! I don't like the songs he's playing on, and none of them "rock".
"Hotel California is a classic!" Why is it a classic? Because a bunch of baby boomers decided that it was? Because it sold a lot of copies?
Fuck The Eagles. Their music is ass, their never-ending "final" tours are ass, their legacy is ass, and their enormous egos are ass.

Sorry not sorry.
Uh, Joe Walsh is great and only tangentially in The Eagles.
Also they're liked still because they are a well harmonizing rockband which is a fairly rare thing. And their songs are pretty good in a vacuum, in fact you probably like them less the more you learn about the band.

I've never really known anyone that worships the eagles. Like, maybe they're like, someone's #5 band, but when are they someone's #1? I suppose they're out there, but I don't encounter them.

I don't think anyone actually loves the Eagles as their #1, but there's definitely this thing where people think they're good and a vital part of their time period and that they represent something other than selling out and that pisses me off

I like a handful of Eagles songs.
That's where my thoughts on The Eagles ends.

I'm still just so excited that new Kesha is a thing that we get to have
Kesha wrote about the song a bit on Rolling Stone, and hidden in that article there is the delightful news that one of the songs of the new album is going to include Dolly Parton

I am a sucker for a brass section, so this song is my jam

The Dolly Parton song is a cover that Kesha already did (Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You) on her EP Deconstructed
Kesha's mom was one of the writers of the original song

My songs of the summer so far are Lorde's new album, HAIM's new album, and Kesha - Praying
I literally cry to Praying every time because I'm a gay baby
@ whoever was asking about k-pop, the new Red Velvet song is good, a summerjam on deck.
some of their poses/expressions are a bit more "kyoot" fanservicey than previous, but the video is true to the colorful quirk they bring. https://youtu.be/WyiIGEHQP8o
i'm more into their pop stuff, but their R&B tunes are smooooove. this EP is solid as hell, and shows a decent mix of their styles. https://youtu.be/0D6nvDYUapc
somewhat similar bands: f(x); Orange Caramel; 2NE1 (apparently, BlackPink is kinda their spiritual successor)

"people" don't really like the eagles
it's pretty much just boomers
They're some weird interpretation of "the counter-revolutionary™" turned into a commodity or a product or something
Fuck them
Sorry for Party Rocking
This is my song of the summer because it's Paramore unabashedly doing 80s pop.
The Eagles of Death Metal.
This is shockingly listenable.
Dang, I legit dig this track.
Also, I just discovered this song and dig the hell out of it.

Kesha wrote about the song a bit on Rolling Stone, and hidden in that article there is the delightful news that one of the songs of the new album is going to include Dolly Parton
Well
This is the sad part
She partially dropped charges last year, and the new album is being released by Kemosabe Records, Dr. Luke's label
I am a sucker for a brass section, so this song is my jam
The Dolly Parton song is a cover that Kesha already did (Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You) on her EP Deconstructed
Kesha's mom was one of the writers of the original song
I literally cry to Praying every time because I'm a gay baby
Is Kesha the same person as Ke$ha or like her evil twin or something?
nothing makes me madder than that band having that name
Making shitty quasi-jokey wannabe-biker rock and putting "death metal" in your name is the lamest fuckin' shit
some of their poses/expressions are a bit more "kyoot" fanservicey than previous, but the video is true to the colorful quirk they bring.

Ke$ha changed her artist name to just Kesha a while back. Same person.
speaking of Kyuss, their second album is one of my all-time summer jam greats
you can basically just put it on and jam non-stop. great roadtrip music too
@Keith
Lorde sucks.
