Official E3 Stream is live! - currently running archive footage from last year, but stay tuned for the good stuff. Note: EA are holing their own event, wont show up on E3 stream. See 2nd post for their streams.
Yes, it's that time of year again! The time when we get our first look at the games we'll be playing in 2020! :pop:
Seriously though, its E3 time, and as usual the big boys will be holding press briefing in the lead up to the show proper. And since that's when most of the big news lands, that's what we'll be covering in this OP.

Imagine with a brief idea of what Twitch will be showing over the week.
Getting those tickets was an abominable nightmare this year, but tickets get!
Can't wait. Really enjoyed it the past couple years.
How do I get press credentials, tickets, a flight, and spending money by tonight?
good news! you don't need press credentials. E3 is officially open to the public this year. don't fancy your chances of getting a ticket though. sorry.
Devolver Digital's new co-op Zelda-like looks totally awesome. It's Four Swords for the modern era.
Really pumped for Sony's presser. Less optimistic about Nintendo's 30 minutes, but it wouldn't take much for me to get hyped up for any news coming out of that.
I believe @BillyIdle will be hitting the show floor and reporting his impressions of every single title

Nintendo's thing will only be 30.
I'm going to look at Kojima in person. And check out games too I guess.
90 minutes is about standard for MS and Sony, MS will likely run a bit longer this year. as for why, they haven't talked about their slate going forward at tall. we've seen bits of Sea of Thieves, we know Crackdown exists in some form and we can assume that Forza 7 will be shown. beyond that though they've been incredibly quiet. i'm guessing, hoping, they've got a fair bit to talk about and that's why they'll be running longer. not long till we find out for sure.
But it's probably just because they'll spend so much goddamn time on Scorpio.

Better mark my calendar appropriately. I have no expectations from anyone this year, I think I might be watching out of habit more than anything. Is that bad?
they've been doing in the day or two prior to the show kicking off for a while now. i think E3 are probably going with the earliest lead in ever this year though, but they've been skipping the main show in favour of the 'EA Play' events the last couple of years so i guess they can make their own schedule.
I am curious to see what the "PC Gaming" thing is about though. That I'm actually excited for, out of curiosity.
There's also this little thing called Project Scorpio....
https://youtu.be/jlS1GsEeqVg
Phil Spencer has been pretty good about keeping the E3 shows focused on the games. obviously there was the Scorpio and One S announcements last year, and Scorpio will need to get time dedicated to it this year but i think most of the talk will be paired with the game demos.
Yeah the PC Gaming show is much more lowkey and intimate (and let's be real here, poverty) compared to the conferences from big players like Sony, Microsoft, Ubisoft, et al. You don't have a PC Multinational Conglomerate Company to throw money at it after all. But Day9 has been a great host and it's generally a nice chill event.
And new XCOM 2 shit is being revealed there so you know I'm watching.
Anywho, apparently if you watch the Xbox conference on Mixer, you get free shit:
I'm going to the DC one! If anyone else is, say hi!

Also holding out hope that Bethesda gives us something on Elder Scrolls VI. I'm not expecting a FO4 style "oh, and it will be available this year" but I'd settle for some bullshots or even a title.
Phil Spencer's followup tweets mention that they tried to cut out a bunch of games but apparently they really didn't want to
Whether or not this is just his usual magnanimous PR speak remains to be seen
im not a big fan of xbone
but phil is so good
talks straight, is passionate, excellent front man for xbox

Based on the chatter, all I'm expecting from Microsoft is Forza 7, Ori 2, Halo Wars 2 expansion, ReCore Definitive Edition (aka, the finished version) and maybe one new IP. Even Halo 6 isn't meant to be there.
TBH the only conferences I'm looking forward to this year are Sony and Nintendo's. Can't say I'm looking forward to EA stinking up the joint, as usual, in a few hours but I guess I'll watch it for a laugh anyway.
Crackdown should finally get a proper showing too. it was mentioned a while back that its still set to release late this year. pairing it with the Scorpio makes sense.
Sure, I was just referring to new announcements.
They are just starting the press conferences today.
yup, the major press conferences always come in the lead up to the actual event, Nintendo being a notable exception. EA are really ahead of things this year though, which is what prompted be to make the thread.
Scorpio's a mandate for a longer show, certainly. I think Crackdown 3 will be their centerpiece game since it was supposed to be a technical showpiece for cloud-rendered gaming, now they can put that to work and create something that makes the Scorpio purchase worthwhile (given today's multiplat-driven environment, a powerhouse console is a hard sell without exclusive content that can really put it through its paces. Just being a box to play a prettier version of Destiny 2 won't be enough).
All i'm really looking forward to is a peek into what Retro Studios is doing. Been over 3 years since DKCTF, and really that was a game that went gold by holiday 2013 that Nintendo just held back. Nervous because a Retro game isn't likely to make it by this holiday and Nintendo's saying it's all about the '17 games this time.

It is funny how some good games are so easily forgotten.
Styx and Technomancer seem good.
Totally glossed over them. Styx is actually a sequel.
That looks like good fun, I think I'll grab it next month. It'll help kill time until Destiny 2 arrives.
