as a scientist, i think part of the reason you see the topic come up so much is that "this is already my GOTY!" has become an overused way of saying "i like this game"
I'll be interested to see where Zelda ends up. Jeff and Brad both fell off hard, but liked what they played. Brad has not played Horizon yet (I doubt he will). PUBG needs to come out of early access and then it's a definite contender for the top spot, given the site coverage. Persona may end up at the bottom if Alex and Ben fight hard enough, but who knows.

I had difficulty with the added controls in 3D 2; it was a nice game but too often I'd screw up because I couldn't juggle the buttons and would get mixed up.

I'm left handed so I really had to mess with them to get them where I felt comfortable. And I still messed up fairly frequently.
I'm actually in Vegas for the first time this weekend and today was the day we had planned for wandering the strip. When I saw the wedding stuff go by on twitter, I thought briefly about going down to give them a high five or something but discarded it as potentially being weird. Instead we were in the middle of being lost in the Venetian for an hour whenever they actually got married. (We just wanted to go across the street to the Harrah's to catch the monorail and vainly assumed from Google maps that there must be an exit out that side of the casino, but hell if we could find it.)
I won $10 off of a dollar spent at a penny slot machine though at the end of the day (also it took me like 15 minutes of shoving cards and dollars into the cash out atms before I finally realized you're supposed to just put money into the machine itself), so I got in some Ryckert-appropriate dumb luck and sheer obliviousness.
@Chincymcchilla since you mentioned Altered Carbon out of nowhere last week, I've been thinking a bit about it.
The reason Bancroft killed himself was to "forget" that he killed a catholic girl before his backup, right?
Since a big part of the setting is that people can be put into new bodies, surely he would have been able to find someone willing to be choked to death on the condition that they be put in a fancy new body afterwards. You know, instead of doing actual murder.
Okay, I think there was also some politics stuff in there somewhere, but it's been a while since I read the book and I don't really remember the details. But still,
the guy is super rich and has genetically engineered clone bodies. Surely that would allow for all sorts of super freaky sex stuff.
