Doesn't surprise me, I heard like absolutely no buzz about it after it came out
Them dropping season 1 same day as Bill Nye's new show and a week before Dear White People was a baffling decision to me that definitely didn't help its chances
One unexpected pleasure of GLOW is imagining Harry Crane as some sort of immortal ever-douchebag
Appearing, generation after generation, to be some poor gal's albatross
I'm also a little worried about Betty Gilpin. I know it's all make-believe, but it still has to affect you somehow to spend a whole year on TV getting cheated on by the world's least likable dudes.

I can see the overlap with Dear White People but the Bill Nye show seems like a fairly different target audience?

I just meant in terms of marketing/buzz. There were a lot more ads and publicity for Bill Nye's show out that day, and Dear White People the next week, and it just felt like Girlboss suffered with its placement because it was always going to be the third choice in that lineup. If they'd pushed it back another month it may have stood a chance
That's fair, there was very little marketing for it
I haven't watched it but from the reviews I read it also was just kinda not particularly amazing? Like, not bad but just kind of there.
Which I can see being a negative for Netflix cause outside of their Mass Appeal Pleasers like the Adam Sandler flicks and The Ranch and whatnot, they want their shows to get rave reviews and acclaim like they tend to do for at least a few seasons
Oddly, there are two instances right at the start and then it seems to go away forever.
I assume there's some sort of algorithm involved.
I was surprised mainly because I think of that actress as someone who probably doesn't do nudity, and it was so utterly unnecessary. It's about as gratuitous of a titty shot as I can imagine.
OITNB was like that in the first episode, and I'm pretty sure it's because they were originally pitching it to HBO and had to make it appropriately juvenile and prurient for the "mature" audience.
Watching the (current) season premiere for Orphan Black and I never realized Elyse Levesque was so darn tall. She looked shorter in SGU. Or maybe the entire cast was giants, I dunno.

Why can I not tell the main person in Glow is Alison Brie? Is it her hair? 80's style makeup? Something is throwing me.
On Community and Mad Men, she was wearing completely crazy amounts of makeup in a configuration designed by scientists to look like a knockout gorgeous lady wearing no makeup at all. In Glow, she's actually not wearing any makeup except the stuff you're supposed to notice. It makes a big difference.

There's nothing I want more in life than for Zonugal to make a show and Rorshach Kringle to make a film trilogy

This is absolutely why I didn't go into specifics. Because 1) the insanity shouldn't be contained, and 2) it's far more fun to watch the magic start from nothing

It was really good. Between that and The C Team I've been itching to play D&D for a while now.

I cannot even imagine what it's like to be this wrong about anything.

Front loaded is the way I like it you know what I'm sayin'?
Eheheheheh
Wait what am I talking about.
It really skeeved me out.
Like I just wanted to see ladies power bomb each other.
It doesn't quite go away entirely (hello, Marc Maron butt), but yeah, it seemed weirdly like an "and with that out of the way".

Lane Pryce absolutely fucks
Eras Harry Crane has appeared in as a jerk
1960s (Mad Men)
Early 1980s (Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp)
Mid 1980s (GLOW)
Late 1980s (Firewatch)
Modern Day (Love)
I love you, Rich Sommer

Gotcha.
That was good tv!
He's basically you with a budget and a drug robot!
... nobody ever give Zonugal a budget OR a robot.
I'm pretty sure giving Zonugal more than 20 bucks counts as a common law felony in most jurisdictions.

~30 minute episodes works really well for a show like this.
