Hey Raijin, when you catch up and get to season 3 of Rick and Morty, I recommend watching all the behind the scenes bits they have on youtube talking about their thoughts on each of the episodes. It's pretty interesting stuff.

I appreciate how while the show loves to take a dump on Jerry, he's also the only one who's totally right about Rick.
I don't think so, I think he has a very shallow view of Rick as someone who took things away from Jerry. Morty is totally right about Rick.
This episode nailed Jerry to the fucking wall: he's a weak, shitty person who uses his pathetic nature as a weapon to get what he wants. His marriage was 100% doomed with or without Rick, because the only thing that was keeping it together was his emotional manipulation of his wife.
In fact
The only jerry we see that grows out of that at all is morty's actual dad, because the world ends and he has to.

For whoever is watching for the first time: have you been watching the scenes after the credits?

Is there some way I can give somebody cash money to watch new episodes of Rick and Morty? Aside from buying cable? Adult Swim cut me off, and I require a fix.

Goddammit. I had arbitrarily decided that Hulu and Netflix were sufficient, and I didn't need Amazon. But between Amazon's buying up Netflix's entire back catalog of actual movies I want to see and this, I think I'm going to have to get Prime. But I can't get rid of Netflix because of Stranger Things.
Truly, nobody in the history of the world has had more problems than me, Jedoc, right at this moment.

Wife and I got to the first anniversary episode of Chef and my Fridge and were torn directly in half by how cute it was and how fucking funny it was
it's such a good show

Oh by the way, part two of Little Witch Academia is up on Netflix. I can't recommend the whole thing enough. It really connected with me about striving to succeed despite your limitations in a way that few things have.

Huh weird I thought they had a thing where they kept current with AS programming
I love all the dumb animal puns in BoJack Horseman so much
When I first started watching, i wondered what was the narrative imperative in making half the characters animals when the show generally treats them all the same* excepting some animal-related jokes, and then the puns kept coming in and it was all made clear. I half believe the only reason they did it was to use up a huge store of animal puns.
*The huge exception is when I got to the chicken episode.

The chicken episode feels like it came out of the writers all spending way too much time discussing the implications of the mixed animal/human world they'd created, long after that decision was made.

they have stated that the only reason bojack is a horse, and therefore they live in a world where some people are animals, is because their character designer just likes drawing horses
that is the actual reason for one of the core conceits of the show
Starz announced they're developing Black Samurai, a TV show based on the Marc Olden series of novels following Robert Sand, a highly-trained American Army Ranger whose life is transformed when he meets a legendary Japanese master who invites him to train as a samurai. After his beloved sensei and samurai brothers are killed by mercenaries, Sand is thrust on a worldwide journey of both revenge and self-discovery. Stars Common, produced by RZA, from Jerry Bruckheimer Television

Let's not give them credit for sticking to it until they actually do so. Plenty of people have had set plans for their television programs.

it seems like NBC is just determined not to make good shows lately
how is this the most compelling tv show out there right now, especially with all the competition
they're absolutely killing it almost every episode
At least those corpses would have forward momentum
Because of the river, you see
what if they hit a rock
I don't follow
it's such a good show
I thought they worked pretty well

Really love when creators have a set plan and stick to it. 12 Monkeys is another show that I like that comes to mind

See, I did not not know that!
