The WHM 70 skill feels kinda, I dunno, extraneous?
It seems like just a button to push to squeeze out a little more healing on the tank after a damage spike or room AOE. Which is still better than trying to keep track of a 30 second buff to use for emergencies.
Oh also, why does Stone 3 only have 10 more potency than Stone 2? I think somebody flubbed some numbers somewhere.
AST did pretty well out of this patch. It's nice now that you have 3 good damage buffs you can throw out rather than just fishing for Balance all the time.
Also adds a bit more strategy for who to throw single target stuff on in dungeons. Would Balance still be best for MNK/BRD or would Spear be better now?
Mixed feelings about having two more Undraws to fill up our bars. They're useful tools, but it doesn't seem like the most elegant solution.

Dear lord, the people on the Reddit are very mad about Summoner. I need to get my Arcanist leveled up and just play the class without letting too much of that sink in.
Someone mentioned something about Scholar that I didn't think about. With the new change to Aetherflow mastery, there's a real reason to use Dissipation. 3 extra Aetherflow stacks not only means 3 more powerful skills, but also another 15 seconds shaved off of Aetherflow's cooldown timer. So, if you're willing to eat your fairy, you can once every 2 minutes, use 6 Aetherflow actions and have a 30-second cooldown timer on Aetherflow itself.
I really like the WHM changes. It was previously a good idea to use Cure 2 even when it was going to overheal, just because it removed the RNG from the lilies. And PI previously was just an extra free heal for the tank every now and then, whereas now it can be used reliably to top the party up faster. White mages already put out the most actual healing of the healers, so I really wasn't expecting a buff in that regard. I suppose even more healing means more time to do damage. Or more potential for solo-healing raids.
I have to say the pace of upgrades here makes no sense to me.
We've barely had time to start collecting the 1 item per week from Omega to get 320 gear and now you can already shoot straight to 330 with roulette tomestones. And then that stuff gets upgraded to 340 easier/quicker than you can obtain the 340 items from savage Omega.
It's like they didn't really give anything time to breathe

The issue was normaly it would have all launched together. The two breaks between releasing 320 and 330/340 are to a) prevent people from feeling pressure to race through content becuase they're going to lose a weekly lock out, and b) make sure all the content gets a chance to have a higher playerbase and c) have as many people geared up for savage as possible.

So, after hitting level 70 on Dark Knight, I thought I'd try out Red mage. After experimenting a bit, I think I have a kind of rhythm down for it. Basically use Jolt to get dual cast then either Thunder/Aero (whichever bar is lower), and keep building up black/white mana till I dump it in the melee combo. My question is what is the best way to handle the Stone/Fire procs? Is it worth it to cast Jolt after the proc so that Stone/Fire are instant cast, or is it better to cast Stone/Fire right away?
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it. ~ Terry Pratchett
Verstone and Verfire have short cast times, similar to Jolt. When one of them is ready, you use them to replace Jolt in your rotation, and then use Dualcast to use Veraero or Verthunder.

Tomestone gear can only be upgraded with drops from Savage raiding. Upgrade items for those won't be available outside of savage until 4.1 from the 24 man most likely.
You are also limited to 450 tomestones per week which only lets you buy one item a week and you have to save up to buy the chest/legs/weapon.
If you are not doing savage raiding then you will make good use of your 320 gear before you are anywhere close to full 330 and if you don't do savage raiding then you won't have any 340 gear.
Elusive Jump Recast time reduced from 60 to 30 seconds
Sometimes I see a change and I just have no idea what the rationale behind it is. Are there people out there who were thinking they couldn't use EJ often enough? Maybe it's supposed to be some kind of EJ+SSD / EJ+DFD regular aggro dump meta?

I do appreciate the new inability to mess up the Aethertrail rotation unless you die. Flubbing Bane or Fester was just the worst thing in the world, and was only worse in Stormblood.
Dying is still pretty damn OP against Summoner, though. The job still could use some work.
Adding MP refresh to Quietus is going to be interesting, especially if it's per hit instead of per use.
I can only imagine it is, though I'll have to test it later.
It's gonna make my dungeon trash pull strategy (pull everything, turn on Blood Price, use TBN, use Delirium, spam Abyssal drain and Quietus) even more effective.
Speculation about Future Omega Tiers that includes spoilers about the final boss of the current tier (both Normal and Savage versions):
So apparently Exdeath gets an extra phase (or more?) where he transforms into Neo Exdeath if you play Deltascape in Savage mode. Should we take that as evidence that they're done with the FFV theme and future tiers will take bosses from other games instead? I mean, it's kind of hard to top Neo Exdeath if you want to continue the FFV theme, unless they use some of the GBA superbosses or something.
Though if they switch games for each tier, then the third tier will get shortchanged since the final boss of the third tier will almost certainly be Omega itself.
I do have to say that if they are going to switch games each time, I'm a little worried about the "real" form of the final boss being Savage exclusive, because I'm not a Savage player.
Neo Exdeath doesn't bug me too much since I'm not too invested in that one, but I'm going to be a bit salty if I can only fight regular Kefka and they make Final Kefka a Savage-exclusive thing (I also kind of want FF6/Kefka to get the Alliance Raid treatment in a future expansion like Crystal Tower did for FF3/Cloud of Darkness).
And can you image the waves of salt unleashed on the forums if One-Winged Angel Sephiroth was Savage-exclusive? Though I seriously doubt they'll play the FF7 card yet. I think they're saving that for their emergency "break glass in case of subscription drops" technique.
Overall, I'm fine with Savage having new phases and even new forms for the bosses, I'm just not sure they should be doing it with the fanservice cameos of the final boss of an actual mainline game. Although if they wanted to create an entirely new form of the boss for Savage that wouldn't really bug me (ie. Neo Exdeath is available in normal and then a new apocryphal "Giga Exdeath" is created for Savage).
I'm actually kind of hoping they just stick with the FFV theme for all three tiers, despite the weirdness of Neo Exdeath being the boss of the first tier. Make Enuo or something the boss of the second tier (and again, Omega itself will probably be the boss of the final tier). Better to save other games for future content based around them instead of having them share 1/3 of a thing based around FFV's void.
a problem with continuing to use FFV is indeed that they've used a lot of it up until this point. In addition to the Deltascape enemies, We've used Calofisteri and Apanda in previous content, and Twintania has been used as the name of another very prominent raid boss. Which doesn't leave a lot of room for other FFV Rift enemies (Azulmagia and Necrophobe, and maybe Melusine, Wendigo, and the Piggies?).
Actually, now that I think about it, you possibly could swing a roster of FFV enemies, despite blowing the load on Exdeath immediately.
Phase 2 could include remaining Rift enemies and stuff from the Sealed Palace. Maybe Azulmagia, Archeodemon (a Twintania palett swap), Necrophobe, and Enuo, with Enuo's backstory and threat level being noted.
And phase 3 could be Omega showing off the final fruit of its research. It could include the Guardian cannnon, Shinryu Verus (an improved replica based on the data it collected from every Eikon it omprisoned), a team of Manikins (based on YOU), and final Omega itself.

Possibly a stretch, but it could work?
They also left the Halicarnassus in Haukke Manor (Hard), so the boss having it's name used before probably wouldn't stop them. There was also the situation with the Crystal Tower boss that they simply went back and renamed. They've also shown they are perfectly willing to just stick a word before or after if they need to (ie. Hollow Deathgaze).
That said, I really doubt Calofisteri would be reused, so she's still out.
The using a different name for Twintania could also work, as that's sort of what they did for the first Deltascape boss (they used the name of the old man form instead of the serpent form because the serpent name was already used).
It'd still probably be possible to field a team of FFV bosses for all the remaining floors, it's just the second tier final boss that would be up in the air since you'd want something impactful (though Enuo could maybe work for that role).
Really, it's even possible they could use Gilgamesh again, as this Gilgamesh would be a fictionalized one created by Omega, not the one already encountered in the game. Or heck, maybe real Gilgamesh actually finds his way into the Omegascape. I hope Gilgamesh is in this expansion somewhere.
Edit: Or if they want to be really crazy, they could make GOGO a boss.

Since the whole concept of Omega is that he's pulling in enemies from different universes I thought everyone assumed future tiers won't be specifically FFV themed? I mean, with Exdeath (and now Neo Exdeath) there wasn't really any reason, IMO, to think that they'd continue with FFV.

I still think they're done with 5, or rather I guess i hope they are since 5 wasn't really all that dear to me. I'm not saying its a bad game or anything, i did enjoy it. It's just that there are other villains I'd rather see now that they did a few from 5.[/quote]
