A mini N64 will be tricky. It has the huge controllers and four controller ports.
Just make the N64 controllers wireless and only include 2 (but sell more) and it's more feasible.
I strongly suspect that with a wireless controller, Nintendo would only include one. Two packed in seems a lot more likely with controllers of minimal cost, without their own power supplies, battery covers, RF antenna, etc. (on top of letting them sell a smaller box, which they'd like to).

Include two, but bump the price another $20, so that it's $100. Really kills the mood to have (potentially) Mario Kart 64, Smash Bros, 1080 Snowboarding and what have you... and only one controller.
Yeah, but I'd sort of like to have the real thing (or at least this decent facsimile), you know? And it just feels incomplete without the second one in the set.

Especially if controller distribution is as piss-poor -- nay, virtually nonexistent-- as it was before.
On that note, I hope more NES Classics aren't all they'll be releasing soon.
I imagine if they have something new up their sleeves, they'll announce it before the end of the year. But I wouldn't expect an announcement until fall at the earliest.
So I finally took the dive and I can now safely say that hakchi has easily made my SNES mini one of my favorite electronic devices. I wish so hard that there was a legit Genesis equivalent to this thing. Everywhere I read that the AtGames thing just doesn't make the grade, comparatively speaking.

I've spent way more time fucking around with Hakchi than actually playing games on this damned thing.

It becomes very easy to fall into the "what can I do with this?" mindset vs "what shall I play on this?" I feel like I've moved more toward the latter these days.
There's a few new things including Alien Soldier (from Treasure!) but all the Ecco games and Sonic 3 and Sonic + Knuckles are missing, which is some bullshit.

I mean, I would like that--but trying to think of it from what Nintendo would do in their interest and not mine....I doubt they'd sell a wireless N64 controller for $20. Even $30 seems unlikely. Thus, I doubt it'd only be a $20 bump to a two controller package.
What I could see being justifiable to them is $120 for two controllers, up from the $80 with the one they're obligated to include. But $120 might push it out of the realm of a "mini" purchase, if that makes sense. Or I'm completely wrong and $20 is what Nintendo would be willing to charge for it. It just sounds way too easy for them to sell it for $80, and then sell each additional controller for ~$40 if they're even wireless. Even just making the controller wired would make it more plausible in my mind (granted, the console would look...odd....with four ports in the front, but that'll be covered with a plastic lid anyway).
It comes down to yes, obviously, they could do it (they could also give them away for free), but why should they? If people are already going to be buying two more Mario Kart 64, why not make it 3 and keep the initial price lower? It's not like Nintendo shirks away from expensive accessories.
But I have a really hard time imagining somebody sitting down and playing almost any of them. There are three Atari collections on Xbox One and of the 100+ games between them I don't think there are more than 5 that someone might try for more than fifteen minutes nowadays.
I was watching the video of the new classic controller and now I need to go check how small the original was. The new one looked tiny compared to the original, but my memory might be a bit off. The original controller is still my all time favorite controller. It was burly and easy to handle.
I think I have more than 5 favorite Atari games I play every few months. Sadly most are Activision games though. I still for the life of me can't land the stupid Space Shuttle. Or beat Pitfall.
Finally found a SNES classic in the wild at my local Target, there were two left and I bought one. Clerk said they got the shipment the day before and he was surprised there were any left. Anyway, the Classic is now sitting next to my original SNES and the size difference gives me a chuckle every time I look at them.
Damn it feels good to play Zombies Ate My Neighbors again.

There's an alternate universe out there somewhere where Nintendo went 3rd party and makes SNES collections that lack Super Mario World for some reason.

One of the roommates’ kids asked me for suggestions of songs to play on piano.
He had never played a Final Fantasy game before, but somehow I hooked him on learning the Chocobo theme song and Terra’s Theme from Final Fantasy III. Now I guess I have to show him the actual game, but that should be easy to do. Both kids are great at suddenly appearing in the room when I start playing my SNES Classic.
I heard someone say Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection from the 360 plays on the One, but it's not listed as BC and I haven't gotten to try it yet. Has anyone else?
The Sega Genesis Collection has issues with multiplayer and some sound issues.
I haven't really heard the sound issues.
I haven't tried online, but saw a Jim Sterling video last night showing it in action, and it seems that Player 1 can rewind (and presumably fast-forward), but Player 2 can't, and there's no effect when it happens, either, so stuff jumps around abruptly if you're Player 2.

No, beardy guy, Sonic 3 not being on there doesn't have to do with Michael Jackson.
What is the reason?

My wife’s workplace had a retreat over the last three days, so I brought along my SNES Classic. It was a hit, although Mario Kart was the only one of the original games that was played. Aside from that, people had a lot of fun playing multiplayer games on there they’d never heard of before like Tetris Battle Gaiden and Sanrio Smash Ball.

Dunno, but not the one he said. It seems like these collections never give you "every game you want," so it's par for the course to leave off a top tier Genesis game.
Officially the unluckiest CCG player ever.

So, in light of the fact that the NES Classic is being reissued, are there any good compatible NES Advantage stick clones you folks know of and could recommend?

They're saying 100+ classic and arcade games preloaded so at least that is interesting.
Deliveries are in 2019.
As of my post they were at 1.5 million funded. @[email protected]
