I would like to reiterate the suggestion that @Stabbity Style be a team of his own.
I think he should have a handicap from winning the past challenges. All his points should have a x0.9 multiplier or something like that just to mess with him but he would still easily demolish everyone else.
Even with a .09 multiplier, he could probably still take us.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

I'll admit to voting against every Lusty Argonian Maid option, because it seemed a bit much, and I was never super into that part of TES, but by god that's a great team name . . .
Yeah, I don't consider a game off the backlog just because the main quest is done, unless that's the only thing the game has to do. It's also about every sidequest and collectible.
Then again, Stabbity lives in Walla Walla, so that's probably another contributor to his success.
Edit: and honestly, looking at it that way, I probably only have 20% of Just Cause 2 done?
As another PNWer, Walla Walla bashing just does not get old. And I've never even been there! It's just one of those Washington towns that falls under "really more like Western Idaho"
which is still better than all of those states that are, you know, further east. Really, once you hit mountain time it's all zombies until the Atlantic.
@CorriganX Sign me the shit up! I can't send messages direct on the phone so have [email protected] you, sorry. Also, for everyone wiring that they don't complete games and don't want to let anyone down..... I never played more than 20 minutes of a game last backlog challenge
Nobody gives a shit, it's a bunch of fun seeing people clamouring to best games they would otherwise never touch or get around I to. Also, obligatory quite a review for every game you beat. That needs to be a thing!

The only bad part of reading the books in TES is that you learn a lot more about interspecies sex than you would care to know.
...Don't ever get into a fight with a naked unarmed khajit.

I go with Backloggery's terms of whether or not the game is off my backlog. For me, if I beat the main game, it's beaten and I don't need to do anything else to get it off my backlog. If I like it enough, though, I'll do a lot more, possibly achieving a "completed" status. But that's just the icing on the cake for me at that point, especially with 1200+ games incomplete. My stats say that I've got 30 "complete" games and 452 "beaten" games.
Hm. I don't think I can really sit down and commit to playing a bunch of games for a team. Especially because I just now finished the things I was playing, Numenera and New'n'Tasty. But I might finish a game or two. Can I throw some points to whoever is losing if I do so, or something?
Its not something you have to force or anything, its not like "if i dont play 8 games in 3 weeks im letting people down". I usually only beat 1 or 2 games, because thats just how I play. Its just working together and friendship that makes the team, not who gets the most points or anything. If you want in and just beat 1 game thats absolutely fine, as long as you're having fun with a community as you do it.
It's hard to not feel at least a little like you should do something for the team, though.

Sure, the book in the game is some light-hearted fun by an eccentric guy, but I voted against the comic option because I actively hate the concept of it.
The reason is that it combines three of the worst things I think could happen to a person into one awful package: loss of body, loss of will, and loss of self. The Dragonborn gets turned into the Lusty Argonian Maid for being a dick to shopkeepers, okay fine Sheogorath having some fun here. While in this form anything he says is twisted to that of the persona that's been forced onto him, robbing him of his own voice. Er, alright, getting a bit "And I Must Scream" there comic. Over time his original self is subsumed by the persona until been irrevocably destroyed and replaced by what may as well be an entirely new person. Nope, nope, nope, back the fuck up that is one of those fates worse than death. That's the sort of shit that'd get me motivated in a game to hunt down whoever pulled shit like that and eradicate them from existence without mercy.

@Drascin, I agree, but It's not too hard to put something on the board. Knock out some little gem like To the Moon in a few hours and boom, there you go. Plus Awesome CorriganX (tm) adds scavenger hunts and challenges so you can usually like screenshot a cactus and get another point.
I will be battling and once again letting me team down by being afk for over a week in the middle.
But It's super fun at whatever level you can contribute and the more people involved the more fun it gets.
Lords of Magic: Special Edition is an old game which is like...halfway between real and turn based strategy where you play as a Lord managing an army and trying to defeat your enemies. I did not play this when I was younger, so I don't have nostalgia working in my favor, but....yeah. It's pretty difficult to tell what all is going on. I don't have it on Steam, but rather GOG, but I presume that everything applies to both - this definitely seems to need some manual diving to understand what anything is and how to use them. It doesn't have a learning curve like modern games, but rather a learning cliff. Expect some difficulty going into this if you didn't play as a kid.
GOG and I think Steam as well made the mistake of using the latest patch for the game rather than the stable patch that came before it. And it can really break some early game balance by making it really difficult on players. (think it would mostly affect you if you play the Chaos faction)

Lords of Magic was balls-hard even back in the day, and playing any faction other than Death (which is only unlocked after you've beaten the game once), can be a serious challenge no matter the faction or difficulty.

I think that kind of bugs me with State of Decay. It's really such a small town but is apparently the magnet for the zombie apocalypse.
because the apocalypse went down during a harley davidson convention in town
/makesthebestexcuses
Actually, it crashed into town with that airplane in the middle of town.
Did UL confirm that or is it just the most popular theory?
I made it up right then and there when I posted it.
You just made it up.
You just aren't the first one. There are markings on the containers (I think it's supposed to say 'biohazard') and one of the appears to have had something escape. Common thought is that it was a feral-type that survived or caused the crash and survived and kicked things off.
Last I'd heard was that UL hasn't confirmed what caused the zombie outbreak. I think there are other Easter eggs that could give other explanations. But none of them are as obvious as the plane.
Did it!! Thanks again, parrying + Target Shield + Hornet's ring made pretty short work of him. Onto the DLC I guess?
Well . . .
I mean, do you have a save pre-Gwyn?
Because in the original Dark Souls, you have to hit up the DLC first, before beating Gwyn, because beating the last boss immediately starts NG+.
Yeah, I realise this just after! Decided to just move onto DS2 instead.
It's at least good to know the background of the DLC for Dark Souls if you care about the world lore at all. The main villains of DS2 relate directly to actions you'd have taken in the DS1 DLC.
And if watching Dan's Dark Souls 3 playthrough is telling me anything, it seems passingly important to that game as well.

Damn! We totally should have mentioned that. Sorry. Though, if you are curious, starting NG+ you would be surprised at how quickly you can get back to the dlc. Probably a quarter of the time or less
We currently have 25 entrants for the Backlog Challenge. Last year we had about 60 split over 3 teams. We had 39 entries for the winter challenge. If we can get a few more people we can split into 3 times. Without a few more we'll be forced to split into just two teams.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
D'oh, nearly slipped my mind; count me in for the backlog challenge, @CorriganX! Last year's was a ton of fun, and I'm looking forward to making a dent in the ol' to-play list for a change

Totally different tangent, good lord there is a lot of stuff to explodervate in Just Cause 2. Sort of wish I had unlimited C4, because my favorite thing to do is roam around planting my 20 charges and then hitting the trigger and watching a base go up in a ball of fire.

So Gears of Star Trek is not very good, but I love Star Trek and I already paid for it God only knows how long ago so I'm going to keep playing. Everybody looks like shiny clay facsimiles and instead of Star Trek things I'm shooting Gorn that now look like dragons.
This game is weird, but at least it's a real game which is more than I can say for my other addiction (Star Trek Timelines) that is now on Steam and threatening all my wallet funds with its evil "f2p" stuff.

At least they don't spend half the game saying "these totally aren't Gorn, you guys" and then have a big reveal where one of them says WE ARE THE GORN and everyone is supposed to be shock.
If nothing else, the occasional bizarre animation glitches are worth the price of admission.
