Yay, I'll have to come along a few times if we can catch up to hopefully get any spare yangs/dmls. I'm going to really really try not to roll a DH this season. Barb/WD all the way.
Vyr's is such a boring set to play. It basically needs obsidian ring of the zodiac to function. At least I lucked out on a manald heal early that I cubed, so I can farm decently fast to get a real set going.

So I totally forgot about Cain's armorset giving you a shitton of experience, but there's another armor set that doesn't take up Cain slots that also gives all the XP? Jesus, leveling is insane.
Especially if you're a wizard and find a specific wand that gives Arcane Orb a stupid amount of damage boost AND double explosion on impact.
Managed to get a wizard to 70 and 2 haedrigs gifts before i had to go to sleep.
I didnt have time to fuck around but im not really sure i can do much with 4 vyr. I did get a bit lucky with other drops, already have a furnace, low level starfire that i can cube, couple other useful items. Im sure i can figure out some bastardized build to get me through to 6 vyr, probably archon would be best.
They really need to do something to address the situation where some sets have damage on the 2pc or 4pc, making getting the 6pc easy, and some sets not having any damage at all until the 6pc making getting it much more difficult.
If you are reading this add me.

It works for necro because they have several amazing weapons that are easily attainable, which can then carry you through chapter 4.
Most other classes have a glut of useless weapons, and Vyr’s is especially weird in that you’re probably better totally ignoring weapons and cubing a Swami.
I had a great time last night getting to lvl ~47 on my new Necro. Can't wait to dive in for more fun! Not sure at all what the good builds/sets, etc. are for Necro, but excited to figure it all out.
As someone who hasn't played in a few seasons (maybe since like season 9...not sure!) there are some great improvements. They might have happened a long time ago, but they're new to me. Namely, Crafting Materials not in inventory! This is an amazing QoL improvement from before. And also the armory looks great for quickly changing sets/builds. Challenge Rift was awesome for quick gold at start of season. I'm sure there's a lot of other new stuff too, but I'll have to discover it!
Finally, D3 feels fresh; I just needed to step away for awhile

Stupid work getting in the way of my levelling. Got to the point now where I can do the GR20 solo, but had to come in to work. Oh well, I'm sure I can get it done when I get home.
I'm at that hump where I need to run T1 rifts to flesh out the pieces of my spec (which, admittedly, I don't have a solid spec yet). I did get enough pieces for IK 6pc.
Just play IK until you wind up playing whatever you want to actually play, IK or other. IK is (personally) tempting to bring the hammer down on some nerds though.
Yay just hit level 70 with my Necro. Somehow I feel underpowered  damn RNG
When I first started my necro in season 11 there were a couple really noticeable jumps in power, I forget what the first was, but when I got tasker and theo I think I was able to jump from torment 8 to 12. Silly that one piece can do that, but there you go.

Got to 70 a bit ago. I've managed to die on this character more times than I have on my account in total (and I still haven't lost any Hardcore characters as far as I remember).
I've been doing the laziest Wizard build ever. 3 buff skills, teleport, and I just fire my laser beam. Wheeeeeeee. Obviously that'll change when I get Vyr's, which I've never used before. Are the archon spells affected by selecting runes for when you're not in archon form?
I made my first Monk, and just took it into a Nephalem Rift. I found a channeling pylon, and used it. I was...impressed. If I'm understanding what I just experienced correctly, with the correct skills equipped can I use a channeling pylon to dart around levels at ridiculous speed, while completely invincible, leaving massive explosions in my wake?
I also looked through the cube at what legendaries are available, and the monk's selection seems kind of bland compared to the witch doctor's, with the exception of some very interesting exploding palm synergies that I intend to take full advantage of.

Crudest Boots synergizes with Inna's to ridiculous levels. But yes...it's kind of boring (aside from being surrounded by 10 swirling, immortal mystic allies who can be activated to do silly things, that is).

I started up a necromancer yesterday in the new season (I skipped last season to give them more time to balance things), and I'm not a huge fan of the Haedrig's Gift set so far. There is no damage bonus until the 6 piece, so it is making it a bit difficult to complete Greater Rift 20 within the time limit, though I do have the shield from the set whose bonus buffs pet damage while your skeletons have the command active, so if I can get the weapon I'll probably have no issue. Torment 4 and GR20 (similar difficulty level, though not identical) I have plenty of survivability, I just don't kill things terrible quickly. I'm sure I'll figure something out, I've been trying out various skills and runes with varying success, but this is a part of the game I enjoy while trying to figure out a playstyle I like that is also at least slightly effective.
Something weird I noticed is that most level 70 weapons at the smith have the same cost to craft of 15 of each resource, but the 2h scythe is actually cheaper than that. I have no idea why a 2h scythe takes less resources to make than a 1h scythe (or any other weapon), but hey whatever. I managed to get one with 25 levels of reduced level requirement, which was convenient because I was level 45 at the time. So at least getting to 70 wasn't difficult. Now to farm up death's breaths and such so I can get something approaching real gear.

I dunno about a couple of the spell choices for being outside of Archon form, and Power Hungry I might swap to something else. But overall this looks great. Transform into a magical girl and just blow shit up. I guess the bad part though is the extreme amount of downtime between uses of Archon.

Nah, downtime is assisted through the zodiac as long as you keep the other spells from being used as much as possible (slow time is the only one that will mess with you unless you're buffing a lot for some reason?).
Hopefully your magical girl transformation doesn't take too long each time.
Yeah if you have all that gear and roll CDR on everything your downtime in between archon casts will be short.
Just hammer down on arcane torrent for those zodiac procs. You might need a tiny bit of APoC and/or rcr but only a little. Its a tough build to optimize for early in the season because you need specific gear with specific rolls.
Man the barb was boring as hell the first bunch of levels, once whirlwind unlocked it started to get fun, although I keep getting hit with stuff I normally easily avoid with ranged characters so that's taking some getting used to.
Was at the Canadian equivalent of the DMV for 3 freaking hours yesterday so my buddy snuck ahead of me with levelling.
Clearing a rift in 5 minutes is fine right? I decided to gamble a bit and for quite a change of pace got lucky! Got a weapon set, 5pc Trangoul and a unique ring.

Ugh, sorry @Al_wat and Kani... first D3 shit itself, then PC shit itself, and then I was hungry and lunch happened and yeah... will sit down and have a serious talk with my pc after food

Okay I have no idea if I'm even going about things in the right manner anymore.
On my Wizard I got the Vyr's set. Does it have all the stat bonuses I want? Probably not. I did change a couple here and there at the enchanter lady to make sure I wasn't taking a huge vitality hit. I can complete torment 5 content. Whenever I'm running around normally, I can get spiked to death. But as soon as I hit archon, it feels like I'm not as far along as I should be as far as content level I'm trying to mine.
But that's my problem... what -am- I trying to mine the game for at this point? Some of the Kanai cube recipes aren't self evident in description but the last one was already explained to me; it's the infinite grind stat boost recipe. Is that all I should shoot for now?
There's a recipe that uses 25 breaths to upgrade a rare to a legendary, and if you used that on dropped/crafted wizard hats you can try to get "The Swami". With that in the cube your archon stacks will last another 20 seconds after archon drops off, effectively doubling the amount of time you benefit from the Vyr 6 pc. You can also spend blood shards trying to get the helmet, it's just slightly less likely that way.
That alone will make a huge difference, so I'd suggest focusing all your breaths and shards toward that before enchants.

Holy shit I literally just got that hat on my first try right now.

And with that single upgrade I shredded a Torment 7 Greater Rift. That was fucking bananas. My arcane orb when I'm out of Archon form fires a couple times per click because of the increased attack speed. An arcane orb which I have buffed from the kanai cube to double-explode for double its usual damage.
I'm having some fun with my necromancer using the free set and the weapon + shield pet buffing set together. Getting 3300% and 400% on pets that cost health is exploding enemies quite well. I cruised through a T7 rift and a GR30, tomorrow I'll work on the season journey stuff for the T7 bosses. I have a huge amount of room for improvement as I am still using generic jewelry, I know there is one that buffs skeleton mages but what other rings/amulets should I look for as a necromancer?

No you're never on to invite me!
Have Zero and yourself figured out what you're levelling this time around?

I can also do GRs and use gems for some added DPS.

which is the free wizard set this time around? It's either that or I finally level a monk, I think
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
I just want the wings more than anything though
Maybe I’ll play monk
