Oh, that's a bit subtle. I think I may well have posted in threads with that message before! I didn't know it was significant.
Is there a way to "unfollow" the thread at least, so I don't see 535 new posts? I get this for threads I looked at once and never looked at again, so it would really be helpful.
I'm not complaining about the punishment, but trying to follow the rules. If I see a thread that I'm interested in with lots of new posts, I'm likely to post in it. I'm fairly sure I have accidentally ignored this warning in the past, through ignorance. If the warning said something like "You are BANNED from this thread" it would be clearer.

But the notice isn't just for you, everyone sees it. The alternative is making it obnoxiously obvious, which is going to annoy literally everyone else on the thread.
Doesn't make a lot of sense.
Between you and me, Peggy, I smoked this Juul and it did UNTHINKABLE things to my mind and body...
Don't you have to get @'d by a mod to get banned from a thread? That should be a heads-up.
Right, but I think Celestial's question is more for "what about 2 days from now?" Not "what about the exact moment or so I actually get banned from the thread"
CelestialBadger, do you not mostly use bookmarks? It's a super nice way to browse just the threads you are interested on in the forums. Then, you could just not add this thread (that you're banned from) to your bookmarks.
Personally, I'd very much like the ability to unsubscribe from threads for various reasons, including having clicked them by accident, or being curious/interested once, but not anymore.
As things stand, I have to remember which blue tabs to ignore until they finally disappear from the first few pages / are replaced by new threads.

This is what I actually thought the thread was about. But bookmarks should do nicely for you, badger.
“I used to draw, hard to admit that I used to draw...”
The problem is when threads you clicked on accidentally are popular. The other problem is that bookmarking threads and then just browsing via your bookmarks means you won't see new threads that you might be interested in.

Yeah, I just do a quick browse through the forum categories every once in a while to see if there's any new threads I want to bookmark.

It's especially bad in SE, since there can be days between a thread being remade, and half the time it's a dumb pun that doesn't actually contain an easily ctrl+F able term

Remake the thread yourself then.
