So apparently there's a spoiler floating around from the opening custscene of Youngblood that details something major that happens in-between New Collossus and Youngblood. Major spoilers below, along with a bunch of speculation.
BJ has already killed Hitler by the time Youngblood starts.
This makes me think one of two things are happening.
1. The Nazis managed to preserve Hitlers head and slap it onto a mech body (or they just flat out clone him), which will get discovered in Youngblood and lead into a Wolfenstein 3 where old BJ has to take on the Nazis one last time.
2. The plot of Youngblood involves the Nazi's trying to build a time travel device to go back and save Hitler and the girls can't stop it in time so the only thing they can do is to send something back in time (themselves, some important info, some kind of super advanced nazi weapon) in order to try and balance out whatever the Nazis send back, and Wolfenstein 3 takes place in the past where BJ's mission to kill Hitler goes awry due to these time travel shenanigans.
Quite enjoying Amid Evil! Encountered an interesting thing.
The "rocket launcher" or celestial claw appears to shoot planets. Each time you equip it you get a different orb/planet. I didn't see it, but apparently I shot Earth and exploded it. Then a message appeared on screen that said "Uh...you just blew up Earth."

Yeah I watched a video review and they mentioned that. I'm swaying on buying this or not. One the one hand, I do love me an oldschool shooter. On the other, I do like the progress that's been made since those games.
One minor criticism I have so far would be monster idle noise. I'm only on the 2nd episode, but when we think about all the shooters this game is based on, those idle noises are so atmospheric and iconic , to me at least. Like I think of the Vore from Quake1 idle sound:
Actually, a lot of the Quake1 monster idle sounds are great. Again though, minor criticism. Really having fun with it. Would be great to have Deathmatch.
I only played the first level (think I'm going to restart on a harder difficulty) but my thoughts so far
1. This feels like a Quake style game with a medivial fantasy skin, rather that the heretic style game it was touted as. (It sounds like I'm splitting hairs, but those games have very different feels)
2. Monster design is horribly bland. They're all the same vague armored monster dude. (Only this one has wings and this one is taller with a big sword)
I think I'd be more down with this if I hadn't just played through Blood and if Dusk hadn't come out last year. This is like a less interesting Dusk.
Like I said, I only played the first level. Hopefully the game will pick up when I get back to it.

I would agree with that so far. It seems that each episode has different enemies, but it would be better if they mixed and matched them. Maybe that happens in later episodes.
It's behind the portal for the "Sacred Path". It's in the water to the left of the portal, you have to dive down. An old, classic, frequently used Easter Egg shows up followed by a bizarre "boss" battle.
I also recommend finding "Evil" difficulty. The first 2 episodes I completed on "Hard", they were a bit too easy for me. I'm finding "Evil" is a lot better.
Of all the people to make that series! How bizarre

New event coming for Rage 2. The description sounds like they might be putting a few Doom demons in special missions.
RAINING DOOM: JULY 19 – JULY 25
Goodness gracious, great balls of fire… are raining from the sky and seriously disrupting the Trade Coalition’s supply routes. They’re looking for Rangers willing to investigate the meteor sites and find out what the HELL is going on. See what we did there? No? You will. Loot 250,000 meteor sites and you’ll get the DOOM-Bringer Shotgun skin.

Could be good, but I feel like the odds are strong this is going to be a fiasco, aping some sort of Halt and Catch Fire imagery with awkward Mad Men pretentions.

One could make a venn diagram of Doom, Quake 1, and Heretic pretty easily. Maybe more than thar but those three do form a certain foundation when it comes to FPS games that exist on their own terms and do not involve events like world wars or roswell or whatever

God, I wish Id would get access to the Heretic IP again.

Heretic and Hexen were so good. I should pick up Amid Evil, it kinda looks like if Quake and Heretic had a baby.

Honestly odds are a lot stronger they make a new IP that’s Heretic in all but name. All this pivoting to include Heaven and the realm of D’Argent seems like it could be a means to lead into that sort of spinoff territory. That’s raw speculation on my part of course.

They can easily meld Doom, Heretic, and even Quake together, they've all had some sort of mix before.

Well I wonder what he’ll do now. Relax in retirement? Join or start a new company?
That game annoys me because as an arena shooter it’s super awesome but the engine sucks, Bethesda just had to shoehorn a micro transaction store into it, and the idea to copy Overwatches champion system just wasn’t a good idea.
Under those bad decisions there’s a fantastic arena shooter that no one plays.
Quakecon is this weekend and a Doom Eternal panel is about to be live streamed.
So it looks like this was just a retrospective on the History of Doom with a select group of developers from over the years. Tomorrow morning at 9am PST they will have a panel going more into DOOM Eternal.

Are we believing the lore in this one?

I mean it's the rune on his helmet so
That picture is actually Just Warhammer 40k with the Doom Slayer sigil instead of the mark of Khorne

I'd be curious to see who is the eldest statesman at id now.
Oculus: TheBigDookie | XBL: Dook | NNID: BigDookie
I think Kevin Cloud is the only original member left now.
Kevin Cloud was the elder statesman before Willits left and he's still there.
I really need to learn who is involved in current id these days.
Well I wonder what he’ll do now. Relax in retirement? Join or start a new company?

Apparently they just released Doom 1, 2 and 3 on PS4, Xbox One and Switch; and Doom 1/2 on mobile.
