No one seems to have answered whether I can set my PS4 to GMT and start playing Destiny several hours early.
I suppose there's no way to know for sure until it launches. I guess it depends on whether the servers are looking for where your ISP originates or whether it just trusts the client to not allow the connection until the local PS4 clock says it's midnight.
It's based on the regional store you buy it on, setting your clock won't make any difference
Interesting. Does the PSN store even discriminate by time zone, or is it generic "North America," etc?

So I finally got to read some of that Edge Magazine information about Destiny 2. I am slightly concerned about this part:
There are over 80 missions and activities in Destiny 2, and each is substantial - in length, challenge, story and reward.
"We turned all these knobs this one way and it turns out that, at hour 55 you fell off a cliff." It has been fixed of course.
I really hope this doesn't mean it takes 55+ hours to complete the campaign and reach endgame OR that they take that into account when determining when to release the Raid.

I wonder how things like Xur and event scheduling will work out across platforms with the delayed PC release. It seems like they'd want Xur synced up for everyone, so is PC just gonna miss out whatever he has on offer for the first few weeks?

Yes, obviously. The question is if/when things on timers will start to sync up. The answer probably isn't "immediately".
I don't see why not. Unless they want Xur or whatever to be ahead consoles for it's entire lifespan, they'll probably have them running in tandem. Or not and each version will have randomized loot each time.

I've been looking into this as I'm thinking of switching to digital and they also noted that there will be a Day 1 patch. Ideally it's like a day -1 patch preload but who knows?
Don't think so, they handle the digital and physical stuff differently. I had Titanfall 2 downloaded from a free weekend but couldn't launch that one from disc, had to reinstall with the disc to get it to work.

Don't see why you don't offer a preload on the store with some nominal cost attached, like a dollar. Shit, if you want to avoid nerd rage refund the dollar (in sony/ms funbux) when they place the disc in. I would think it would be worth it just for stopping the crush on your servers.

Damn, yeah I wish it would let you download whatever you needed for the physical version and of course it just wouldn't work until you put the disc in as the "key"

Just depends if they would make a special disc check version. Right now a preload is basically the entire game that just doesn't have the servers or whatnot activated until a designated time. So its effectively a digital download, which requires no disc check.

WotM is the only one I've never finished, either. I don't bother with Heroic or Challenges, but these days even normal Fresh runs on DestinyLFG sites are all "must be experienced / no stopping to look at scenery / geez" posts.

I'm really hoping that I'll be able to get used to the sentinel captain America shield in d2.
As someone who played almost exclusively as a Defender in destiny 1 I never got used to using the weird 3rd person melee super stuff (or melee in general due to my tiny titan trex arms) and really didn't like trying to use it in the beta. But the shield all titans get now seems like they almost make the ward of dawn a ton less useful. Especially if the helm of Saint 14 (my favorite titan exotic once I got it, which was late) isn't in the game somewhere.
So yeah I just went to Gamestop to preorder my Xbone copy
Didn't feel like waiting two months or so to for the PC version, and I don't even know if any of the other Xbox players are moving to PC. I'll probably sell it so I can buy the PC version when it comes out, or I'll just keep playing on Xbox for a while depending on who's playing there and if I have the cash to get it on PC. (also Wolfenstein 2 comes out 3 days later on PC and I'll probably just get that instead lol)
I'm finally home, trying to get a combined arms match in to get the box, it's taking a literal eternity to match me in. This may be my last post, I may die waiting.
