I look at my triple Desch and now Werei as payment for my complete lack of Tilith and 9S. Those Desch earrings are gonna make my FV the prettiest TDH finisher in the future (assuming I can pull the requisite 5* units for their TDH TMRs).
I got a bunch with my EX tickets, but it's been blues for awhile from dailies. Normally I have really good luck with 4*'s, but ever since my ticket spending spree, that luck has vanished. No VotH's, no Desch, no Werei yet.
I can reliably 3-round Dark Lord with Olive/Fry/9S/Wilhelm/Friend Fry, now if only I could be arsed to give a shit. I'm in a real slump with playing FFBE for the last week or so.

My main driving force is trying to max out the units I really like. I was playing around on the unit calculator and it's possible to get Olive to 1333ATK with Desch's Earrings and Prishe's Hairpin, which is silly (and that's without Adventurer V).
I feel kinda like I'm playing it like a Tamagotchi or oldschool Digimon, just trying to pump those numbers up so I can look at it and go "Neat." And man, I'm fine with that. Also, I have a feeling the coming 10-man trials will add a lot of enjoyment for me personally.

When I get bored I "retire" units, usually good units, so that I'm forced to use something else. I tend not to min/max so much simply because we're starting to get to the point where going max involves making other sacrifices. For example, using Dark Fina's Swimsuit is great for mag but SUCKS for everything else (unless you're running out of mana, due to the extra mp refresh).
Of course, to do that, you have to have worthwhile units. Trying to make things work with, say, Helena, only is fun if you have solid support behind it.
Random Question: Are there any plans to add tiers to Colosseum? I don't mind running it to fulfill Daily Quests (and SLOWLY work toward the trophy), but it would be nice to get some new challenged there.

That's part of the reason I'm working on getting FV and Randi up to snuff. I love Fryevia, but she makes thing trivial a lot of the time, and when she doesn't work (Malboro, for one) she doesn't work in hilarious fashion. She's very all or nothing despite having a lot of utility, oddly enough.

We already have more tiers than JP, and they don't have any more. So, it's possible, but it seems unlikely. I've come around to feeling that the daily for 5 lapis is more of a punishment than anything.

Agreed. There are a ton of high quality Fryevias up for this event, and for good reason. I actually just switched over to Light Veritas who can hit for WORLDS more due to her innate killers, but it's a setup move with her Saint Buster finisher. I just capped a chain with her and she dealt like 3.5M damage on the first hit (shadow guy went from 90% down to 5% suddenly).

Update video's out for Global:
* 2 Expansion vouchers I guess we're getting for free that can expand slots rather than lapis.
* New story event will feature Ayaka. Ayaka is coming.
* 1st 10 man Trial: Sheratan (rewards a 120 SPR staff with Dual White Magic & Holy)
* TM Moogle Merge Maybe
* Neir rerun at some point! No date! Not soon.
Edit: It should be the same Tree Trial fight as JP which would give the following rewards for the hardest difficulty:
Clear - The Staff mentioned above
Win in 20 or less turns - 2x Summon Tickets
Kill w/ Esper - 10% Moogle
Use Earth & Dark Damage - +30% MAG/SPR [Materia]
That staff will look really good on Refia, who remains my go-to healer. And then maybe on WoL if I pull a better healer at some point (can't be mad about having access to dualcasting Raise).

Oh. The Ayaka banner also features Sylvia (4 star), notable because her TMR is a 100 ATK, 84 MAG Sword. And Kamui (3 star), whose TMR is a 120 ATK Fire Katana.

Well, as you've said, you play a number of gachas so you know how this works. I approach this as just a question of timing. If you KNOW there is a hard-to-get unit coming up, and there are "sort of hard to get" units in the interim, skipping those interim pulls is honestly probably no big deal.
I whaled during Nier and in the process I picked up any remaining 4 star units that I hadn't pulled, and Camille -- the only 3 star unit I didn't have. Presently, I don't have a Desch or Werei, but I'm not going to spend tickets on them because I'm sure the next time I spend a boatload of tickets or lapis, they'll appear.
It's possible that I could play the rest of the game w/o the unit appearing, but that's true whether I do it during their banner or not. It's just very unlikely that they won't ever appear (unlike 5 star that are off banner).
So, for like, Werei, he's on banner and at 40% atk, his TMR is better than other units by a few points. It's strictly better than Queen's, but different than Shine's, and has a 20% HP boost over Earth Veritas (generally). But if I get it, then I have to farm it, and then 1 unit is 10% better. Sure, it's a goal, and a worthwhile one, but increasing one of my existing units by 10% is NOT as great as getting an entirely new unit, especially if that new unit does something new or interesting. So, it's a tradeoff, but I very rarely try to pull just for TMRs. The only recent exception I made was Veritas of the Heavens, simply so that I could have some good spear options after having farmed a Crimson Blood.

I am finding it hard to be excited about any specific units coming up. Like, my favorite FF is 6, and beyond T.Terra I have all of the FF6 units and very few are usable. I'm still pining for the day they decide to give Leo a good 6* form.
I'm mostly looking forward to the next new Global Exclusive character, since we have no idea what it could be and the excitement of the unknown is always a big draw. Maybe we'll see something awesome come out of Halloween, hopefully a new unique character more like WKN and less like the dress-up versions of story characters.

OMFG Light Veritas is bonkers. If I get the timing right I think I can take ELT raid down in 1 turn.
I don't know why I didn't even think of using Light Veritas, I guess I'm just thick at times. Mine isn't very strong, just has some very basic gear, but she lets me reliably kill Shadow Lord by turn 3 no matter which defense he breaks first. Just use the first turn to activate Damnation, so she can then use Saint Buster to finish off of Orlandeau chains. She does at least 1 million damage per Saint Buster when it gets the full benefit of an elemental chain, so 2 million a turn. If Shadow Lord breaks his SPR, she can kill him by turn 3, or if he breaks his DEF then he's down on turn 2.
My current team for the event (and pretty much all the rest of the time to be honest.)
Reberta, Refia, Minfilia, WoL, Fryevia, Friend Fryevia.
R1- Ice Breath, A060: P Shield, Shadow Guard, Arms Eraser, Frost Flower Blitz x2
R2- Mystic Thrust, R020: Mirage(Or Curaga/Esuna), Assault Order, Light is With Us, Frost Flower Blitz X2
R3 - Ice Breath, R020: Mirage(Or Curaga/Esuna), Call to MAG/ATK on Fry/Reberta, Bladeblitz, Frost Flower Blitz x2
If SPR was broken, the boss is dead, if not, a repeat of R1 will finish him off as he switches to SPR break.
My Fryevia has the Diablos Esper for Maneater and Demon-Killer, plus the Sun Barrette for even more Demon Killer goodness.
I'm mostly only playing on the bus to and from work lately, and letting NOX TMR farm for me overnight if I remember to turn it on. (I usually forget.)

Ashe demands this sword.
Maybe two of them.
Can she triple wield?

For finishing Damnation->Saint Buster next turn. Theoretically you'd slot Divine Shot as well for the imperil but Asshole McDark dispels himself too quickly.
After the first few times I threw all my tickets at a banner and got nothing, every new game-changing unit is just another opportunity to feel like shit after the binge. You look at those amazing units and you know you won't get them. They're content locked behind a paywall. So every time everyone gets hyped about this or that unit, I'm just seeing the meta progress, seeing my own units getting left behind.
It's like treading water. You have to keep up with the game, get all the rewards, buy out the MK shop, get the new units, or you'll drown. Well, that's putting it a bit dramatically, but it feels like that sometimes. And the way the game works, there's nothing you can do about it.
I've been hoarding my tickets for either Ayaka or Roy, my team needs a great healer / support. I was leaning towards Roy, because his stat boosting, HP/MP regen songs, but I've been using Soleil a lot for stat boosts, and Ayaka can recover MP for the party (just not herself). Considering that there are some solid TMs on the banner (Sylvia and Kamui), it's really tempting me to drop a bunch of tickets on this banner. I want Sylvia's sword for Fryevia, as I only have the one Needle.

Yeah, I just have an Enhancer for Ashe, so that sword looks sexy.
So a little cheese tip for people who are having difficulty taking down the raid boss during the few rounds he debuffs the right stat:
Proceed as normal until you get to the 3rd round of the debuff you want
Ex: Assuming you want DEF debuffed for your physical attacks, if he debuffs DEF at the start, fight as normal until round 3. If debuffs SPR, proceed as normal until round 6 when he's about to switch back to debuff SPR.
On this round, restart the app, re-open it and tap "yes" when it asks if you want to play mission.
Do your last round of fighting normally. His turn counter will now be reset, so he won't switch to the debuff, and will remain debuffing DEF. You'll now have an extra round or two of the debuff you want to finish him.
I can reliably 3-round anything with Olive/Fry/9S/Wilhelm/Friend Fry
s'true though
I call bull pickles. First round you cant do any damage, second round 50% of the time is going to be physical vulnerable for 3 rounds not magical, and olive just doesnt do all that much damage on him by herself, freyvia barely tickles him during these rounds. My Frey is 980 mag, my friends are around the same number and it almost always takes 2 rounds of double frey (round 5) to down him. (I have luneth in my party instead of olive but same thing...his slay only does 100-250k. I'm talking about Elite, so maybe you are referring to pro?
