If it's anything like the beta the Nergal is pretty filthy. Does anytime has a good short range kinetic rec? There are a few good energy guns but I can't find a pairing that I like, better devils isn't cutting it.
Woo! Campaign beaten. That was great. Even if you aren't into the grind, I'd recommend at least playing through the story once a couple dlcs have come out and the base game gets cheaper.
I hit level 20 probably half way through the campaign though, so never really had much trouble. Now what levels should I be going for in order to do strikes, raid, etc.?
Strikes and crucible you can do whenever, the nightfall minimum is 260 and the raid minimum is 270, then there is a hard mode night fall at 300
Would you recommend just doing patrols, adventures, etc. until then? I think I'm at 230 or so.

So this happened

Scathelocke's pretty good.
Second on Scathelocke.
Depends on what you're looking for. The Showrunner is a solid smg that rolls with dynamic sway reduction. Minimum Distance is a nice semi auto sidearm with opening shot, which is a nice perk to have.
I'm definitely feeling that all my favorite weapons are energy...

Do whatever you find fun to get to 260 (Xur exotics will help). Turn in faction tokens to get 265-270. Do exotic quests, weekly milestones, nightfall, and the raid to get beyond that
Yeah I'm looking for a close range burner, The Last Hope is just so damn good at that. I've got to wrap the MIDA quest and then depending on the map I'll use MIDA/last hope like everyone else.
Scathelock is most definitely my white whale in the game, it was my favorite gun in the beta and I haven't had it drop yet. Vagabond got two while we were raiding the other night and I almost wept.
I hit 266 today, with 265 legendaries in all slots and two 270 exotics. Am I right that to progress, I now need to do the 'powerful upgrade' things along with Sturm/MIDA/Rat King quests to progess?

Alright so I think I will actually do the trials thing today... or tomorrow. Think we can get some cool runnings going. But first, I need to find a few other Rocky-types to do it with. I know I can probably get the achievement done on any given Sunday, but I think today is the day, even if some of you guys make it sound like some of these players are in a league of their own.
Though I guess I can plan ahead for some Friday night lights type matchup if you guys are busy. I mean, I figure the playerbase for Bungie's million dollar baby isn't going anywhere any time soon... oh yeah, I don't want any of that bad news bears bullshit either. Just be ready to bring it on.

I'd like to do another card or two of trials. Feel free to hit me up if you see me on.
I'm down for trials of scout rifles if anybody needs another warm body.
Also I'd like to knock out the Nightfall if anybody still needs to do that, hmu fam. GT is Wraith134.
Oh and I guess I bought this on PS4 as well so if anybody wants to help me run my exo warlock through the campaign at a sprint so I can spend as little time as possible with the awful narrative that would be greatly appreciated. Even if not people should add me so I have people to man shoot with when I finally get to max level. PSN is Dudebusters.
I was able to pay a bit last night and as expected I'm over the 260 hump. Sitting at 269 overall now and can probably hit 270 with about an hour of effort - I just need some gloves that are 265 or better.
I had my second "not fun" session of playing Destiny 2 with the daily challenge last night. The roadblock (for me) was a strike challenge to kill ten MOBs that have been stunned with the Flashbang grenade. First off, I'm not very good with grenades, so hitting things with them is already difficult for me. Secondly, I had not invested any points into Striker and haven't played the D2 version at all. As it turns out I'm not very good as Striker. (I did get better over the course of the night.) It took me nearly three hours to figure out where to place grenades so that they would stun MOBs without killing them outright, and then shoot them before they "woke up". I was intending to play for about an hour, but ended up unhappily grinding this challenge until well after midnight.
One good thing that came out of it was a Hallowfire Heart chestpiece that dropped at 272! So, it looks like I'm going to be starting out as a new Sunbreaker next time I get online. Sadly, that wont be until Tuesday night as I have a overnight work trip to Phoenix and I need to leave in about an hour and wont be home until late Monday. I guess my next plan is to finish up the Sturm/Drang sequence (which I actually started "by accident") and then start on the MIDA quest.

I still get upgrade points as I level up past 20, right? So I could eventually unlock everything in all 3 subclasses?
Importantly, from looking at a subclass that's been maxed vs one that's not, you will NOT have a flashy "spend me" alert floating on the classes you've maxed, so there's no worry that at some point they'll be telling you to spend points when you already did.

hey guys, my afternoon/night of freedome starts in about 20 minutes.
Would people be up for the nightfall or other quests with somebody who just hit power 260? i'd looooooooooove to finally play with other people (xbox clan)
No, go ahead, put it in a spoiler! No clue when I'll get in a raid at this point, so that damn Power Weapon quest icon is gonna taunt me for god knows how long.
Is there a faction rep or planet (public event) that's more likely to award helmets? I've hit a wall where my blues are maxed at 261, engrams at 265, and my only equipped piece < 265 is my helm. I could try claiming my clan engrams but I was hoarding those until the end of the reset.
Giving less progress on the Crucible CTA for a loss really doesn't incentivize "actually playing this stupid thing". Went from "oh, like 9 matches, that's not bad" to "this will take a while", and honestly, I don't see that much point.

CTA?
Call to Arms. I realise it's just the cookie for "go play some Crucible", but I only have so much tolerance for teenagers shooting me in the face over and over.
Raid tonight? Who's in and what time PST? (y'all know me on Xbox)
Had a plan to try and do one on reset night to see if we could get a blind group together. But I suppose if we can get a blind group tonight with people who signed up, could work just as well?

Also it seems unfair that my second character matched light level of my first within a few hours

2) The reward is hilarious and wonderful

anybody on xbox up for doing some group stuff?
edit - you also have to do call to arms to unlock the ability to do the 9 stuff
