Just realized that my "Corrections" email about Star Control didn't even mention what they got wrong, plus Vinny won't even be around to hear any corrections about the game next week. D'oh.
Very interested to see which one of them gets the Chrysallid nightmare mission wherein the objective at the end suddenly becomes "run your ass back to the ship as fast as you can and live if possible".
I think the GB audience has gotten a lot better in recent years, but there's certainly still a number of people commenting on women's appearances on streams. Before Abby was around, you'd see it a lot whenever Mary Kish would show up.
I don't understand the point of a live chat. Especially at the audience size they are at now. It goes too fast to read and nothing good ever comes out of it.
At this point taking it away is just asking for internet trouble so pretty much any action in any direction probably isn't worth the trouble
Wasn't expecting the #MeToo thing to go as public that it did but it really has, I'd say about 60% of the women I went to grad school with, so reasonably successful, have probably posted it, and I'm sure the rest would if they were more active on social. Thankfully(?) without the detailed levels of stories, as bad as I know they are
Hell, I've definitely perpetrated some stuff that could warrant a MeToo. None of the most disgusting, aggressive stuff, of course, but it doesn't really matter what I did. I'm not proud of it, and the only thing I can really do is try and be better, forever.
I'd love to contact the specific person/people in question and apologize, but I've read enough literature from sexual assault/harassment/etc survivors to know that this isn't necessarily a good idea, because what it could end up doing is bring up bad memories for the other person, and is just a shallow attempt to make myself feel better and absolve me of guilt, and I don't get to do that. It's my cross to bear, and that's the least I can do.

I don’t read comics much these days, and I never read the Punisher.
But would I be right in guessing that reading modern Punisher, while perhaps being a guy you feel for, Castle is not a dude you should be cheering for either?
Otherwise if it’s pretty superficial, seems perfect for Dan.
Jason being out sick would make the most sense, since he has to handle live production. I don't think it's Jeff related, because it seems like Jeff is tweeting photos of his outfit (someone on Twitter asked) from the podcast room.

It’s why every time I hear people crow about how civilized we are as a people, I grow a little more cynical.
I have grown a lot I feel(certainly never be finished), in a lot of the similar ways Vinny mentioned a few podcasts ago. What he said really touched me.
When with my first real girlfriend I said some real unfunny things that I shouldn't have said. She was a saint and basically sat me down and calmly explained it to me and I've never made those kinds of comments since. I later found out that she had similar experiences and I learned how common it could be. I'm very lucky to have known her during that period of my life, as I probably would have been walking around for a much longer time justifying really shitty behavior as 'its comedy'.

South Park got 4 stars from GB, I heard Klepek talk about the game yesterday and he seemed willing to give it negative 4. I don't think I have time to play that game anyway but still.
Eh I listened to Patrick’s take and I don’t know. I mean humor aside, he focused on some specific bits he didn’t like. And how he hated the toilet minigame. He did say that he was gonna push ahead. And if you read Dan’s review, he echoed how he hated the beginning hours.
That been said I don’t plan to buy it right now. Playing EW2 and eyeing W2. And Mario. And I still want to play Sonic Mania.
I don't really think Patrick is a great reviewer of games. I enjoy him a lot as a general 'personality' but he doesn't always seem capable of separating his broader opinions from his opinions on a given title. That said, that is 100% his prerogative.

I guess you're right. It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking "Well, it's not as bad as it used to be!"
