So it seems like Get In The Ring is just Dan catching Alex up on WWE TV. I can see how this could be a feature they pull out once, twice a year when Vinny/Abby are out of the office, because Alex did not sound like he was being pulled back into watching WWE.
I might be in the minority on this, but I really hate when Peter Brown is a guest on the Bombcast. Jeff has the ability to dive into some obscure, super technical game history stuff, which is neat in small doses. Peter Brown does the same thing, and when he's on the show he and Jeff just seem to magnify and feed off each other and dive into the weeds on hardware conversations that seem interminable.
Like I have zero interest in Gran Turismo Sport but still enjoyed hearing Jeff's opinions about it. The Analog hardware stuff, though, just went on forever; I was fast forwarding 2 minutes at a time and it just. kept. going. I feel like this happened the last time Peter was on too.
I feel like it’s good to have that once in a while. It almost felt like Brad brought Peter in just so Jeff and he could go off about super technical insanity for 20 minutes and then they’ll do it again in 8 weeks. Like releasing pressure to keep something from exploding.
As long as we never get another hour about DVD ripping.
I mean, Brad wanted Peter to be on the show, if only for the 20 minutes or so he was available. Brad seems to be more than okay with letting Jeff and Peter talk shop for a bit.

I don't really care what they talk about I've noticed. I just have a chance to consume 4h of podcasts on an average day at work and like listening to them.

I just watched the quick look for Gran Turismo and holy shit does that game look like somebody specifically went out and tried to make a game consisting of every bad idea that the industry has had in the last 10 years. I don't think I have ever seen a game come across as badly in a quick look as Gran Turismo did.
If the forced Esports, always online and the insane levels of pretentiousness weren't enough the only having a race every 20 minutes is fucking insane.

I like the concept of what they're going for, but it is REALLY going to alienate a lot of the racing crowd who isn't looking for a super authentic experience.
GT Sport was one of the reasons why I bought a PS4 last year, so I'm extra bummed that it turned out bad. Considering the state of the last few games in the series, I should have seen it coming, though.

A lot of it didn't seem poorly made, just hyper-specialized. I imagine there is a small group of people who see what it is doing and are way into it. A very small group.

that's the weirdest thing to me is that this seems like an enthusiast game that could be very successful with those enthusiasts...which is not really what you traditionally see AAA development being?
i'm sort of glad it was made but i expect it to be a total flop financially

That's basically all modern racing games, especially those who shelled out big money for real car licenses or whatnot. With the FIA involved in GT Sport and all the sportsmanship nonsense, especially.
A racing game without damage modelling strikes me as missing the point. And I guess that's why I'm not the target audience for these.

It's GT for the iRacing crowd, I guess?
Like people who take their races seriously enough that the idea of car damage never really comes up because it's not like you're out there playing bumper cars
It's a really weird decision though, and I'm not sure that's what people who might go to Gran Turismo might want out of their racing game

That's exactly what my thought was. The problem is that the iRacing crowd is never ever going to be satisfied with the peripheral support or physics modeling of a console game. PD is targeting a tiny audience that already has their platform and is extremely unlikely to switch to a new one.

Lucky for you one of the best games I’ve ever played came out for PS4 this year. Pick up Horizon Zero Dawn if you haven’t yet! Well worth the price of the system.

Less than 5 minutes into this Beastcast and Abby has already asked "OK, how many times do you get hit in the nuts?" with regards to hockey & jock straps.
Also, I am pretty sure I remember Dan pronouncing "Paqui" as "Pac-wee" on the stream. I missed the actual moment they put the chips in their mouths, but I did come back to my PC in time to see faces of regret.

It's like Mario Party Party, we only watch to feast on the suffering on display.

Many here will not agree.
My main guff about it is that it alienates everyone else on the podcast. It's just Jeff and Peter talking for 20 minutes.

But on the flipside, that segment literally killed me and I'm dead now.
Really, every bomber has something they like that makes everyone else’s eyes glaze over.
