You really don't have a loser choice amongst them. I would drop Vincent just because he seems slightly weaker, and probably go with Firion. Raines is a bad ass, but so is Firion. Being able to combo with the USB just pushes it over the edge. Especially considering Magicite dungeons. That is assuming you like physical teams.

Yes but the list is not identical for gem and crystal tower. I don't think any of Raines, Firion or Vincent are on the crystal tower selection.
Okay, I've narrowed it down to a smaller list of choices:
--The "Might As Well Pick a Top-Tier" List--
Firion BSB = doesn't really fill a specific hole, but it makes my already pretty-good holy team that much better, especially for fights that have magic AoE flying around a lot
Relm BSB = my only Last Stand effect comes from Minfilia SSB, so this would be a nice thing to have on a character I'd get more use out of
--The Support List--
Irvine or Setzer BSB = I've already got a few support BSBs (Fran, Vaan, Faris and Fujin, off the top of my head), but Irvine's in particular would be nice for the initial fire damage, and I've heard Setzer's is SUPER good; I'm not particularly enthusiastic about these choices, though
--The Imperil Tier--
Galuf, Locke or Thancred BSB = I have an imperil BSB for every element except fire (and ice, because apparently NO current BSBs do that? how weird), so any of these would be useful to me; I do tend to favor monks and thieves when it comes to hones, but I have more of a personal fondness for Thancred

Meh.
This is actually a great banner to roll on for CM purposes just like the last one (1/whatever on I, 3/21 on here) but there's just so much junk that I'm unenthused. Almost nothing would help improve to a CM3 with the way I beat the Torment anyway (might have an outside shot at it if I can just get Ramza rolling fast enough now but I'm not so sanguine).
Okay, I've narrowed it down to a smaller list of choices:

Firion BSB = doesn't really fill a specific hole, but it makes my already pretty-good holy team that much better, especially for fights that have magic AoE flying around a lot

Decided to do an 11 pull on the XV banner to shore up some synergy
2/11 on the gem-only banner, Rosa SSB and Jecht OSB! The OSB is pretty cool, looks like if i use his BSB first to en-dark him I can really do some work with it. On the other hand it might depend on charging up his sb gauge to max first? That could be awkward

We're getting (part of) the other one a week from Sunday. For a couple months, we're going to be having revenge or 'full release' style events where all the bonus battles are available right off, and a handful of dungeons from a past event in the realm come back, but not like the renewal stuff; as new dungeons to clear. The FF2 one gets special treatment too since it has an actually possibly challenging CM to kill the old U+ in it with a given party of four (Firion, Maria, Leon, and Guy).

BSB->OSB for Jecht works quite well, annoyance is that the "boost" for his OSB is the amount of SB bar you have left, so in, say, Jump Start you get diminishing returns.
That being said, that combo (along with a dark imperil) got me through a LOT of shit. Just wish it wasn't a fucking Blitzball.
Hopefully I can get some Onion motes out of the FF3 stuff, since I just grabbed his gauntlet
Hell, who knows. When the event was live, there was Cid Missions for getting OK levelled to 99 which gave a number of motes, too. Wonder if those will come back.
The more early the events they skip, the more likely I am to get nothing out of this :rotate:
I started playing during mid-November 2015.
I started about two months after (well, played for like a day in December), and this FF2 Ultimate appears to be all I'm getting.
As an aside, the way the dataminer pulled that list out is that all of those events have a flag on them that's something like "ff1_reopen_ww201710." I would be a little surprised if they reopened ALL of them, because holy shit that's a fucking lot of mythril, but at this point, who even knows.
Hopefully I can get some Onion motes out of the FF3 stuff, since I just grabbed his gauntlet

I doubt it; they haven't returned the Cid Missions for the other events so far. Which is a shame, as I might actually have a shot at the Scheming Tyrant one, now that I have Leila's BSB for actual FFII damage potential.
Went looking at future legend dives for the ones I wasn't sure on. Leon, Cid, and Raijin are all in the "ATK grows as you do X" things (dark, wind, and monk, respectively). Sephiroth is a trance that looks interesting - 1/3rd casting time, +50% ATK/-50% DEF, which given BSB1's piercing would be nice (of course, hitting damage cap is rudimentary when dived, so would the ATK buff really do that much?) Do we know how soon that arrives?

Damn we have had so much power creep since that event. I was hitting nearly 9999 with Lifesiphon even before Shout went up. After it went up, Tyro was even putting up respectable numbers with plain old Attack. It was silly.

For those who are waffling on the relic selection, and are considering Larsa, I heard that the upcoming FFXII event which introduces Larsa's Legend Dive will likely be data-mined about 24 hours before the relic selection closes, if you're willing to wait that long to know if Larsa gets something really good like dualcast white or add Medica.
