The war rig is a good idea unless you're on away team and then you can kinda use whatever because you're always gonna be low on ammo.

Warlock reload puddle is iffy because you have to step in/out of it and you can't do that on the platforms really?

Has anyone tested if jumping straight up while in the rift works to trigger the free reload from Transversive Steps?

The reload puddle boots are Lunafaction. Transversive reloads your energy weapon after sprinting for ~3 steps.

Right, thats what I meant, Lunafaction. Still, anyone test if jumping triggers that reload?

It does, you dont even have to land on the ground inside the Rift itself, if you just float through it, your guns will still instantly reload to full.

This conversation made me think about Achlyophage specifically (for those who may be unfamiliar, it was a helm that granted a 4th Golden Gun shot). In Y1 it was arguably the best Gunslinger exotic - Spines of Ahamkara were okay for PvP and made tripmines decent, but most people just used them like sticky grenades back then. At some point (Y2?), Bungie nerfed Achlyophage - it still granted the 4th GG shot, but it also reduced the amount of time you had while in super. This was an unpopular nerf, and many people stopped using the exotic altogether at this point. I believe this nerf was released in a patch around when Celestial Nighthawk was released, so PvE Gunslingers already had a superior alternative, but the reduced time in super really killed the exotic for PvP. In a weird twist, Bungie doubled down on the dumb for D2 and tainted an entire subclass branch (Way of the Outlaw) with that horrible 6-shot GG perk that gives you even less time in super to fire twice as many shots. It's so bad that many players refuse to unlock that node!

    /rant

Yeah I definitely wish I could go back and not unlock that node.

I've actually been considering re-starting my hunter for this. May have to buy some PopTarts on the way home from work tomorrow. Anyone know what the turn-around time is on submitting codes at this point?

Keep in mind the rally shield from Titans is an option as well. Probably takes some practice to make sure people don't bump one another but definitely doable. I think Datto even used it when calculating his max dps tests on Calus.

Sadly rally shield does not work as well for Hunters because of our stupid class ability. =( I swear I murdered somebody on Calus last night by accidentally jumping backwards into his rocket when I just meant to use the rally reload.

Edit: I suppose in this context jumping to reload in a Warlock puddle would have the same outcome. :rotate:

Right, I just meant you could activate it the originally intended way to avoid that, which would probably still be preferable to dodging into somebody or trying to strafe/jump in and out of a Warlock puddle.

I'm cautiously hopeful that they're waiting to bring back HMGs as a 'new' power weapon type in a DLC pack.

It’s sad that the biggest content unlocks I am hopeful for in D2 are just them giving us back what we had in D1.

    Technically or effectively?

Technically, yes as hats only dropped in Hard VoG. Effectively, all classes had exotic hats so max level was hit well before hard mode raid released.

I seem to recall it being that way in TDB as well but I am fuzzy on that.

I wish there were a non-timer-based option in the rotation but I guess that would just lead to people hiding and plinking things to death every time.

can someone explain to me why having some people choose to hide and plink things to death is so onerous that the rest of us have to suffer with tedious mechanics?

Because it's WAY more tedious than what you have now.

Some Nightfalls used to take 2+ hours because they were so infuriatingly risky that no one would stick their head out of cover for more than one or two shots at a time. Lots of boss fights literally came down to waiting for heavy ammo synths to cool down and slowly plinking bosses for 45 minutes with Icebreaker.
The only time a nightfall took that long was if you were doing it solo. With a team it so wasn't that long. U lesson it was like, trickle, juggler, Exposure, because those just never get done so the completion time is technically infinite.

I mean, it took maybe 45 minutes to solo the arc burn sepiks Prime nightfall back in year 1 at 28 and that was my high water mark for a challenging strike.

The basic strategies about which you speak are correct, but the timeframes weren't that bad.

Iron Banner has changed. Into... just default PVP with nothing different? Hey they made the same dumb fucking mistake as D1 at launch. Also, they need to reference Rise of Iron in some ways or this will be real dumb.

Also the video of the week was dog shit. The guy can't even distinguish between "your" and "you're". They already had "I can make your hands clap" in that space, I'm rather concerned if that's the best on offer.

    1. Complete the Destiny 2 campaign – the only way to reach the Tower
    2. Visit Lord Saladin in the Tower to begin the Iron Banner Quest
    3. Fight in the Iron Banner playlist with Quickplay modes and matchmaking
