I have it! It's a kind of... hidden roles type game? Where every player is an investigator and you have to figure out who the Raincoat Killer is.
Haven't gotten a chance to play it yet myself (I do have a copy), but at least it's not very expensive, which is more than can be said about a lot of licensed board games.
Playing as an AI engineer found guilty of criminal negligence (some of your AI charges went rogue and caused some property damage), Deep Sixed finds you paying off your debt to your amoral corporate masters through indentured servitude. You’re locked in a small and rickety spaceship, pointed towards an uncharted nebula packed dense with ship-devouring alien life and are assigned a laundry list of objectives to complete.
...
In almost any other space sim, repairs are a matter of waiting for a hull health bar to refill or, at worst, hopping back to base and getting your health restored. In Deep Sixed, you’ll have to improvise. Resources like hull plating and additional glass panels for your observation windows are expensive, and can only be paid for with precious requisition tokens as rewards for completing objectives. Until you can get this major work done, you need to bodge it, and that means whacking malfunctioning life support systems with a wrench, putting out fires by hand and just plain duct-taping over holes that are venting your precious air into space.
Legitimately surprised how much the storytelling has made me want to keep going with Celeste, I didn't expect it to have ANY of this
It's amazing how much more i can connect with a genre like "difficult platformer" when it's connected to a narrative that's explicitly intended to be encouraging

Matt Thorson and Bennett Foddy just want you to climb that mountain
Finished Celeste and wow was that just excellent, I knew I'd probably really like a solo platformer that handled like Towerfall but it just completely exceeded my expectations in every way

Then why is it on 4 different platforms as well as a boardgame?
I can't hate it.

Yea again I like that game fine but number of platforms does not in any way equal critical acclaim
Then you'll see. You'll all see...

Yeah that's pretty much the game they should have made in the first place.

I'm the best there ever was
Matt Thorson and Bennett Foddy just want you to climb that mountain
there I was, poopooing on Ronnie when he didn't seem excited about Stardew Valley
and now I'm the one being pooped on

yeah but it used to be "basically harvest moon"
The only thing I don;t like is everyone looks 6 years old. And then they get married and have a kid
there's a lot of potential in making cute/fun labor simulations beyond farming, it's just a shame that I can't stand the character models at all
there's too much visual noise on the landscape for me to look at comfortably

Now I want a farming game where i’m not a human but some strange monstrous creature growing strange monstrous crops.
Humans are strange monstrous creatures
Well at least let me be a human crash landed on a strange alien planet who is trying to terraform it then
But also give me monsters to bash. I want to be sniping a dire wolf from the roof of my combine harvester.
You should look into just being a farmer.
