I held off on leveling some units since I was hoping it'd stack with the weekend double SP and we'd get quad SP/double XP, but some dreams are too beautiful for the world.
Buying the weapon via feathers seems cheaper except in the case where you inherited the base weapon to someone else at an earlier date or you're trying to inherit the weapon alongside multiple other skills.
yea thats more what i envision or if you have a 4* + 10 and don't have a 5* to inherit
Also I need to figure out a dragon team.
Only one I don't have is Ninian and young tiki
I have a 5* fae and Nowi
adult tiki that is +def /-atk
and a whole lot of corrins
That would have been a pickle, although I must wonder about the person who both loves a unit enough to create a 4* +10 of it and yet won't spare the feathers to promote one of his eleven copies to 5* so that the promoted weapon can be merged down into the merged unit.
That's what I did with my merged Nino (merely a 4*+4 at the moment). I promoted one of my excess variants to 5* so that she could learn Gronblade+, then I merged the 5* into the 4* stack. This both incremented the merge count and gave my merged 4* Nino Gronblade+.
I just started this...got pretty lucky on my very first full summon, and got a three five stars -- Sword Ike, Axe Ike, and some cleric lady named Genny. Also have a four star Lucius and Shanna.
Currently I'm using the Ikes, Genny, and some 5star spear lady I got through the main plot? May switch her for Shanna or Effie though.
Do you have a Choose Your Legends banner that lets you pick one unit for free? If you haven't drawn on it, Brave Lyn (the horseback archer) is an incredibly useful unit. She's also available through the legendary banner with Fjorm (the plot-reward spear lady) on it, though not for free. Speaking of which, that banner is a pretty great one to throw orbs at while it's up, as there's a lot of great units on it (less so for blue than red/green/colorless) and unlike other banners you can't pull a 5* other than the featured units.
Fjorm is probably your best lance unit right now because she's got distant counter as part of her weapon (as does sword Ike) and has a full kit of decent skills. Brave Ike (axe) is a great tank, too.
Make sure to check the special maps section regularly—there's a rotating cast of characters you can earn for free at low rarities. The one you want to keep an eye out for most is Olivia—a dancer, which means she can give up her action to give a character another turn. Dancers are super useful.

Jesus that's a stacked lineup. Genny is one of the better healer pulls since she has Wrathful Staff. Just run her, Ike, Ike, Fjorm and laugh as you clear all the story stuff.

I'd like to make a Dragon Emblem team before it affects the meta, but I'm way too indecisive to make that happen. Also I wanna get Corrin up in there rather than Nowi...

This is basically what I'm doing. It works really well because Genny has decided that she would like to gain almost perfect levels every level and so now can tank and kill all casters as well as archers. Meanwhile the Ikes steamroll everything else. Fjrom...helps, I guess?
Also I am embarrassed that I just realized it is Jenny, from Gaiden. That's how it was in the fan translation, and I haven't played the 3DS version. Here I was thinking she was some Fates character.
You don't want that extra layer of RNG added on. It's challenging enough pulling a desired unit, it would suck to have the unit be worthless after a series of bad level ups.
Dropped all my remaining orbs into the Rhajat banner because Rhajat. Got a Faye (finally, Firesweep/Cancel Affinity Bridelia is a go!) and a Rhajat.
Rhajat is +RES/-SPD, but that's okay because I'm probably going to build her as something non-meta anyways, since I've already got units that run Gronnowl (H!Henry), Gronblade (Nino), and Gronnraven (S!Camilla/PA!Inigo). Might as well do something crazy with her!
Decided to go for one full pull each. No prizes or good fodder, but did get my first Priscilla and Jeorge. Both 4*, but new!
I may go for one full pull on the kids banner and debate waiting to see if a Christmas banner shows up before the kid banner ends to see what I want more (probably the Christmas banner).
Watching your team auto-battle is clearly not the way to go. Just put the phone down and walk away. It's a fucking rollercoaster. I just watched one unit suicide on the first turn of map 1 and then everyone else cleaned house through the whole 5 maps.
I spent money on FFRK due to how long I’ve played it and more readily available funds, but the gacha rates here appear less favorable for what I want, so I won’t spend money.
Arguably, anything you pull here is useful compared to FFRK though, where even good relics you pull might not be that useful to you.
In the end, anything I spend is one step closer to living in a cardboard box when my kids go to college!

I found my game stuck in a loop and had to intervene at turn 213. Arvis was pinned between some rocks, my melee units, and a Frederick that kept attacking him every turn. Frederick's damage + fury damage kept Arvis dropping to one health every turn, but recover ring would top him up enough for the process to repeat.
Over 200 turns of Arvis getting beaten to within an inch of his life by a hammer, only to be healed enough to barely survive being beaten again.
Hmm another adult tiki. +atk/-hp this time.
Not sure if my +def/-ATK is better for the defense
the new weapon upgrades for lightning breath all add +5 hp so an hp loss isn't a big deal
i've been running a +attack -hp version with steady stance, quick riposte and the distance defense seal and she was putting in good work even before the buffs
i think at this point she basically invalidates all greens and colorless units

The horror.
I've had to intervene a few times when one person keep repositioning the other behind them every turn, but I usually catch it 20 or so turns in, never gotten that far.
My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)
I was playing a racing game on my computer at the time that demanded 100% of my attention. When I was was finally free to look down, I was expecting to see either a victory screen or defeat in the boss fight against Ike. Instead I saw Arvis caught in the hell loop.
Taking advantage of the 2x SP/XP to level up some units. First priority was to get my Bridelia merged into the good IV one and get her to 40 ASAP. Two stamina potions later and:
I spent another 60 orbs on the Legendary Heroes banner and I think I'm going to call it quits as a victory and conserve my remaining 40 orbs towards a future banner. I manged to net a Hector with an attack bane that I feel comfortable sacrificing as distant counter fodder (at present I'm most likely going to give DC to my +ATK Sigurd).
I also found another Spring Camilla. This one with +ATK/-RES, which seems to be the consensus as one of the best possible IV rolls for her. I'm going to be leveling her up soon and then pairing her up with Arden for Guidance seal funtimes.
No spare Deidres to give Arvis speed ploy, but I'll hold off for now. That skill may very well make its way onto a more common unit at some point. That leaves more Hectors for more copies of DC, but I think that I'd probably be better off waiting for a banner that's more conducive towards hunting a specific individual focus unit.
On my very last pull on the banner, gained a -atk/+spe Genny. 217 orbs for one hero is exceptionally bad, but I will at least be able to try out Wrathful + Dazzling.
Does anyone have a particular staff that they prefer? Gravity and Absorb seem like solid contenders.
I think this is the first time I've run into an arena team that I just had to take a screenshot of.
Sophia #1: 5*+6, forged Tomato Tome
Fa: 5*+7, forged Lightning Breath
Julia: 5*+2
Sophia #2: 4*+10
I respect a person who knows what they like. A shame that this team didn't pose much of a threat, but I feel that that's not really the point.
I never realized that Julia and Sophia looked so alike. I wonder if his secret strategy is to trick careless people into baiting the wrong mage.
If so, I wonder how well that it works in general. In many games I've found that you should never underestimate the capacity for people to be careless. His team probably isn't avoided by players who see Sophia in the lead slot. Roll the dice against a large field of people and fish for that guy who's not paying attention and shuts off his serious thinking when he sees the meme team.

I kind of tried that, but wasn't sure what level to do it at. Even in the "blue" maps, I couldn't just send my reliable team into auto-battle.

Free red pull on the Sigurd banner was... 5*! Marth. :x
Maybe I should ignore this game for a few months and come back when theyve done something about the shitty summon pools.
I may go for one full pull on the kids banner and debate waiting to see if a Christmas banner shows up before the kid banner ends to see what I want more (probably the Christmas banner).

Marth is a good unit and is a FE icon. He should always be in 5* pool. But Hawkeye, Peri, Cain, Catria, etc. should not be.

It generally takes a bit of tweaking. I like giving a handful of units Sol or noontime,
and generally someone acts in a healer capacity.

Awkward conversation with the summoner back at barracks.
But we already have 5* Lucina doing the same job but packing Luna/ Aether. Marth has Escape Route :bigfrown:

Well after reading the backstory behind Arvis, I think that he probably deserved it.
