Didn't you guys say it would be no more a mystery on october first?
Is it October 1st?

Then shut it.
Seriously, you guys are going to be so very disappointed to find out what this is about. I wish the little 'badges' or whatever were never implimented or implimented later.
It's not worth all the speculation, I promise.
I agree with everything you say except the bolded piece. Because there will be nothing funnier than when they all find out and refuse to believe what a stupid, piddling little thing this actually is.

It means you are among Gods' chosen few to rebuild civilization directly following a cataclysmic armageddon of apocalyptic proportions (with earth shattering consequences).

I like the fact that the "revelation" will be underwhelming.
Kinda reminds me of when people finally figure out Petals Around the Rose. The more you think about it, the more underwhelming the simple answer will be....

What if they're just trying to lower everyone's expectations, so that when we see it we're all, "Wow!"? Or something suitably gay for the H&R side.
What's most amusing is that the whole shebang is only really exciting to those involved. We've just been entertaining your crap for the past week to amuse ourselves whilst our plans bear fruit.

But I thought that was the joke. Applying the good ol' hype machine to something relatively insignificant. It's like the Jedi mind trick, it only works on the weak ones.

Feel used? You should do.
It's been fun leading them on. Anyway, I'm off to ban Tube, gotta make the most of these shadowmod powers before the masses find out what it actually is.

Lets do a nice thing but be sure to exclude everyone from having a chance to contribute.
Man, they should run the next Child's Play campaign like that.
It would have been very likely that gabe would have found out about the idea had we posted it in one of the public forums. We wanted the whole thing to be a surprise.

I can see your point.
But there were a lot of us that love books and think that kids should be showered in books and put a lot of personal energy into literacy and love Gabe because PA rocks who were left out.

Ok, well I can say for certain that there is me.
Well, if you really loved PA, you would have donated money back when ClubPA existed, which would have gotten you access to it's forums, which would have allowed you to directly participate.
Either that or you can just donate to Child's Play. I'm pretty sure Gabe would appreciate your nice thought as well, we never meant to "exclude". It neede to be a suprise, and we also had it organized and sent out within a week or so, so a majority of the forum would have gone "oh man, you guys should have kept it going for looongeeer", creating a bigger tangle.
Then again, you can always wait for Tycho to have a kid. :P
Robert gave me a package yesterday and told me it was from a group of forum members. I dove out the window and called the police. It turns out I over reacted just a bit. I’d like to send a huge thank you to the forum members that got together and purchased a big box of children’s books for my son. What you did was really awesome and Kara and I both appreciate it more than you know.
Wow, thats sweet of you guys. What I'd like to know is if you guys sent PMs to people asking if they wanted to donate, or what.
Screw obvious - I didn't know anything about the books until you told me.

Not to mention if you got everyone involved, Gabe would have the biggest children's library in the continental United States.
